That sounds like an amazing trip! Yes, the bike transforms when tuned. I get lots of compliments also. Most people believe it is a sport bike. But, when the bags are on, they are impressed with it being a tourer. Next time I load it for an excursion I'll do a video.

You know your roads! The GT is my favorite bike of all time. It isn't going anywhere but it does get a break from time to time ;-)

I remember the break-in oil on my GT having a significant amount of metal in it. So did the second. Every oil change after that, aside from the oil being slightly darker, it has been metal free. Is that because of proper break-in? Perhaps. This bike has seen 7-8k RPM. I just don't want to start bouncing it off the limiter just yet ;-) The bike is a load of fun. Coming from a liter bike I thought that I would want for more power but I don't. Its fun enough and the twin provide so much usable power even when limited at 4,500 RPM... I can't wait to get the rest of the range. What I have experienced of it's power band is encouraging.

I absolutely love my GSX-S1000GT+. LOVE. I can't get enough. It is a sport bike if you want it to be. A touring bike if not. Or both at the same time. With a tune and full exhaust it is a beast! Do you have a channel or IG? Where have you toured through?

The ZOOM H1 Essentials was wrapped in a rag and stuffed under the passenger seat.

I only had the slip on Arrow silencer. I switched to a full Lextek exhaust instead. It's not as loud as the M4, I think, and it doesn't melt the bags.

@@stevensoldano2763 Supposedly, no tune is required. However, to truly get full potential, a tune is highly recommended. Aside from the power improvement, the throttle response improvement is truly what made a difference.

@@FullThrottleExistentialist so tune isn’t 100% necessary unless u want the full top speed of the bike. So I can just change exhaust the bike will still be super fast

I don't know about being "super fast" but I know that a tune isn't required but it is highly recommended.

Corners beautifully. I switched to a 55 profile rear tire and she drops in even quicker.

Sorry that I missed this message. I hope you got it all figured out now. The servo eliminator plug is under the tank. I left the servo in place and tucked the cables.

A little but not much. It was more of a change in the tone. It sounded a little deeper. It's the reason I upgraded to a full exhaust.

Shop around for insurance rates. I was quoted $5k per year by one company, $3k, $1k, and down to $0.8k. All of them with equal coverage above the minimums with collision. Progressive and Liberty Mutual gave me the best deals. I was deciding between this and a Hayabusa. The mix of sport and touring were key. It's a comfy tourer when you want it to be. A missile you do desire. Yet it retains the insurance categorisation of its docile personality.

Great minds think alike! The GT has always gotten attention from people. The color, the styling, the fact that it is a sport touring bike... so much to love about it. But the exhaust seems to truly be the one that captures people's hearts. There are two kids in my neighborhood that run out to ask me to rev it every time I pass by.

It was between the GSX-S1000GT+ and the Busa for me. I chose the GSX due to much cheaper insurance and the inclusion of paniers. I do long rides occasionally and it is nice to quickly install the "bags" and go. Might still get the 'Busa, though...

Hello, the full exhaust installed on my bike I purchased via a Facebook group for the GSX-S1000GT: facebook.com/groups/suzuki.gt.owners/ Paul H. is the designer. He's the one to ask about availability.

One does have to be cautious and hyper-sensitive about available traction.

I don't know. Sorry. They have the same engine and I suspect they share exhaust design. There may be a need to adapt the muffler mounting point but it shouldn't be difficult to do. I've since changed my exhaust to a full Lextek exhaust, by the way, and I'm thrilled with the results. Life got in the way of the trip. However I did put in many hours on that seat. I think my longest ride with fuel stops, of course, was about 8 hours in one day. I left my keys at the beach. Take this with a grain of salt but I find the seat to be adequate. It could be that being a mountain biker I don't stay in one position long. I move forward and back inside to side often. It could also be that I have extra padding. I read the reviews and forum posts complaining of the seat. So I'm not discounting the fact that that is a possibility. I'm one of the fewer one of the only people that don't have a problem with the seat I suppose. As for the exhaust underload and full acceleration... And to make a long story even longer... I'll be reunited with my bike in the next few weeks. Though I plan to replace this exhaust with a full exhaust I'll do my best to record a clip of it before I remove it.

i have an airhawk pad plus have them gel padded bike shorts they help but not much i got a boney arse.but i can sit in my truck all day i wonder if there is a way to mount my truck seat on the bike lol

Doesn't seem to affect the bag but I've added heat resistant material to the bottom to make sure.
