You can achieve it during the confession scene in act 2. In the confession, if you follow correctly the option to show you truly care for him, you would get a few options- top is to show your feelings (use the tadpole to share minds). Second is to hug him (personal favorite :) ). The third is to become his friend, aka "Maybe what you need is not a lover, but a friend". This 3rd option would end your romance with Astarion, yet you would stay as best friends together. The hug and show emotion via tadpole would continue your romance with Astarion as usual, while becoming his friend would shift you to become besties who are no longer romantically involved. You would still need to trigger his romantic confession tho (Yurgir with high approval or Araj), without it he would break up with you in the beginning of act 3, ending your relationship together. Or you can just not start the romance with him to begin with too, hehe. Either way way works!

Yes, the true evil is not in one vampire who indulges in hedonism, but the corrupt elite and the dishonest guards of the city. Gortash was not a vampire, but how much trouble he caused.

I like that too, and damn, just the thumbnail alone tells quite the tale. He looks meaner, gaunter, and most of all alone. That's one aspect that hits extra hard I think. Despite grabbing up the power from Cazador, he's still alone with no one that ever trusted him enough to get that close. Even if he approved of you being just friends over lovers, it's still a hit to his overall well being. But if you are his romantic partner, you trusted him enough to see things through and still stuck by him, maybe even going as far as to become immortal with him, to stay by his side so that he'd never have to feel lonely or hopeless ever again. You provide stability which he badly needs, and love that he's truly been denied for centuries. A calming effect happens and he acknowledges that, which might be why he gnashes his fangs at the naysayers in the group. He has calm, and love and he isn't going to give that up because some yuppie says so. 😂

​@@MizuMing Although in Act 2 it may seem that he is happy to remain friends, but in the same scene after the ritual for spawn, he will say that "I would like to share this moment with a partner, but he is also happy to share it with a friend."😢 I do not know how I can leave him without an romance, he needs a loved one and not just a friend, on any path.

@@AlexKhodja I agree, he needs someone to balance him out. A literal Yin to his Yang. If a romantic partner is capable of that, they're worth all the gold in the realms. Leaving him alone breaks my heart, and on those few games where I don't romance him, I still pine away for him anyways. 🥲💕

The reason why he presses more in a relationship is because he’s been grasping the idea of getting power over his master and being freed of him for so long that the chance is right infront of him- he wants it no matter what And after Tav came into his life, he realises that he’d rather use this power to protect them both. He sees Tav as someone he wants to live with and love for all that they are. “I’m doing this for you too you know- to make sure we’re both safe.” Astarion’s true wish is to be safe, and he wants to be safe alongside the only person who’s ever offered him true safety

Actually the roll to get him not to Ascend is lower if not romanced if my memory serves me. I do think he is truthful when he says he sees Ascencion as his only way to be safe and to have the power to protect his lover. As a friend he isn't as determined because he has no one he wants to protect.

He loves in both cases. Spawn and Ascended are the same person but in different circumstances. I like this dynamic. At first, Tav gave him comfort and protection. After tav "gave everything to Astarion," he takes full care of Tav himself. I'm sure he let Tav go because he really sympathizes with Karlah and also wants to help her, and who else but Tav can do it. In the meantime, he is really like a loving husband, preparing a love nest while waiting for the consort's return☺

Меня в первую очередь привлек голос, потом характер: Вроде он с тобой флиртует, но стоит подойти поближе, начинает выпускать шипы. Сразу возникает желание пробиться сквозь эту стену недоверия) Ну и, что вампир придает определенный шарм. Мне первое видео с ним, как раз попалось сцена укуса) потом начала просматривать другие, и решила что 'надо брать'😍 Ну и не в последнюю очередь сыграла внешность, но главнее сама графика игры. Как ларианы подошли к анимации, это, что то, с чем то! За его мимикой и жестикуляциями можно наблюдать вечно)))

@@AlexKhodja у меня классика. Мне игру продал Астарион после той самой презентации с медведем :) а потом оказалось, что это персонаж, который создан как специально для меня. По части голоса... Нил Ньюбон неподражаем. И раньше знала его работы, но после Астариона прямо влюбилась в его голос и талант.

What’s stopping you from playing sooner?

@@francisco646 Current playthrough is a Halsin romance, and next playthrough is a Karlach romance. Average playtime for me is a little more than 2 months per campaign. I'm barely into Act 2, 12 days into September, so I'll be done in November if I don't get side tracked, which I will, because I also started Death Stranding 3 days ago. 😅

I think it was a joke, or does Astarion mean that Jaheira is quite old for a half-elf🤔
