Night Shift written by Richard Meyer, for string orchestra. Level 2-3 (7th-8th Grade)
I was in 7th grade when I first played this song.I play a bass.Good times.
The brasses slay
I have played this
i played this piece in orchestra like 11 years ago. the phrase “night shift” awoke the deep memory of it for me and now here i am
My dumb self tryna find this but spelling "night rush" instead of of nightshift
As a bass i am kinda mad i can't shift :(
You can shift actually. If your going to play a g shift down on your d string to play G same with A shift down on E string
@@ZaidMendoza-i4m ik that but my teacher pretty much forbade normal shifting :(
As a cellist, I enjoy this piece, I love any Richard Meyer piece, including Moonlight Tango and Yumiweeus, where the cellos get a good melody and a beautiful solo
Do you know any songs where bass gets a solo?
@@ZaidMendoza-i4m Yumiweeus they get one or 2
As a 2nd violinist this song absolutely warms my heart, I love my part but the 1st violins got a beautiful melody
Found this piece in middle school and encouraged my orchestra to play it. I'm a graduating senior now, going into violin performance! This piece still makes me feel all the same feelings I felt back then. Mysterious, dramatic, yet slightly melancholic with a hint of hope... Gorgeous piece. 😊😊
Q errar Q bush
My fellow violin players where are you ❤
Everywhere probably
Violins suck
Violas can do everything they can plus some
@@Anyfishcounts4 no it doesn’t. Do u play an instrument?

I just started playing cello 6 months ago and I’m trying this piece. It’s really hard for my level. I have the first couple of lines, but I am trying to have this down by tomorrow. Wish me luck!
I love being a bass😭💕
Where are all my violas at? 🧡
Yoooo
Wassup
Heyo
Can we just stop for second to appreciate how hard orchestra teachers work and how disrespectful students are towards them, like the grade below me has made my teach cry made her want to quit her job, it’s awful how kids under appreciate orchestra teachers❤️
As an eighth-grader we are Playing this is an orchestra but I started playing this In early January of 2023 when I was a seventh grader and this just takes me back to those days when I was trying to make it into an ensemble for One of our concerts (which it didn't make it by the way) but I remember practicing this song every day especially the violin one part because I loved it so much
I remember playing thisss 😭😭 and the cello part at the beginning used to be so fun
Band: adventure music Orchestra: the Final battle scenes Chior: the credits
cello part is very fun
I love night shift it's helping me learn how to shift! :D
Throwback to learning this is 6th grade as a Cellsit and loving it so much-
BRO THE BASS AND CELLO AT 0:47 TICKLES MY BRAIN-
The most important part of music is the RESTS~!~ Without the rests, the notes would collide with each other, and what we have come to appreciate is the lonely, silent ~rests~~!~!~!~ Thank God for silence (when needed)~!~!~!~ Sonny Cannon.
All second violins, like here ⬇️
I play violin and am having a bit of trouble still learning to shift, but it is still fun to try and play this shifting
I’m playing this this year in middle school and we are very exited to preform this
As a 2 - year violinist, I am enjoying this piece VERY VERY much.
Strangely, I recall playing this song at a much faster speed than it should be. its very close to what we played at 1.25 Speed, but with more dynamic drops at highlighted moments, you really miss that when you do not have a live orchestra in a recording, but, i am happy to recall the memory. A joke rule of thumb we had: If the cellists are not actively trying to fray bowstrings during a piece, they are not trying hard enough~
I played this in 7th grade
😂 finally I have a important part
We just had a concert and this song is so fun to play
I played this at SHEP
Nah I played this in 8th grade and it was an actual nightmare💀
I’m currently a violin 1 that’s been playing for 2 years now, and dang shifting can be difficult.
Slow it down to 0.5x speed. It sounds CLEAN!! 🔥🔥😮 Especially during this part 1:32 😄🙌
I actually had a chance to meat richard meyer and play/preform with him
finally a composer that includes all the instruments
How I love being the best cellist in my symphonic orchestra!
we played this at my orchestra concert
One million views! Well deserved
Bro I’m a bassist and this hurt to play because we have thick ahh strings 😭😭
Us cellos just did best 👌
anyone else here from PGJR?
