Sadly the movie “Life with Luca” felt as unnecessary as “Zoey 102” for me, I mean it’s just Derek, Casey and a bunch of new characters there, Lizzie and Edwin’s actors even made a video sort of reprising their roles talking about how upset they were that “Casey and Derek had a family reunion and didn’t invite them”. You know, there is this new teen romance Spanish movie called “Culpa Mía”/“My Fault” that is almost certainly inspired by “Life with Derek”

Rewatching the show nowadays I think it’s kind of impressive how it wasn’t afraid to address certain themes and topics that are still relevant today, such as the male-gaze, toxic relationships, how punks and goths get misjudged by others, George and Nora are one of the healthiest 2nd marriage couples in TV shows but it’s interesting to think about how the end of their 1st marriages may have affected their kids growing up specially Casey and Derek, I read an analysis that when Lizzie and Casey’s parents got a divorce it must have been really hard for Nora after their dad moved to New York (considering how she reacted when he went there for a visit that one episode) so Casey had to become more responsible and organized in order to keep it together and for Lizzie and their mother’s sake, and when Marti, Edwin and Derek’s parents got a divorce George got full custody because their mom travelled a lot because of her job so Derek had to cheer them up by making jokes and having fun ideas so his little siblings and father wouldn’t get sad about it

I just started binge watching the show and it still makes me feel the same as when i was a teen.. still love the humour and the drama.. not sure if i will handle the 3rd season though

I didn't catch if u mentioned it during the video but this show is actually an English remake of the original Dutch version 'Huis Anubis', I grew up with the original and it even made movies and theatre plays and such, and that show holds up really well to this day since all of the storylines were already written in the first one and executed a LOT better. I also grew up watching this one on Teen Nick after they made it but always found that the original will always be the best version. Especially their movies too, they have one specific movie 'Huis Anubis & Het Pad Der 7 Zonden' which is basically like the 7 sins but the way it's executed is quite impressive. I highly recommend looking into the original if you liked this one so much since this one definitely feels like a goofier version of the original, the original scared the life out of me as a young kid when watching it before bed, I'll never forget the sleepless nights.

idk if u remember towards end of the show patricia dated this blonde guy (which i ate so much when i was younger it was enemies to lovers core) and they were up against an egyptian ghoul 💀 i recently tried to rewatch it too but the first episode got me like ??? mann i don’t remember the acting being this bad 😅 anyways love the video love the commentary!!! subscribedddd
