OT Security Huddle 01: Getting started with OT Security Career
How can I enter into OT Security when everyone is asking for experienced professionals? After 8 years as a controls engineer working on plc, HMI, Scada, I started gathering all the knowledge about cybersecurity(doing free certification from Cisco,CISA, ISC2 CC) , IEC 62443( read documents), Nmap, wireshark, purdue model, and couple of other things. The real challange is everyone asks for hands on but without giving someone a chance to jump into the Industry how is that possible? This is the same problem when I started my career back in 2016 with plc, HMI, Scada.

Hi @ankit, you can start with understanding basics, Networking, System Admin, Then take an 8 hr free Ethical hacking course at youtube to understand basics.

What are the mandatory documents prepared for CSMS ?
There are list of documents, which re similar to ISMS.
When one asset has multiple vulnerabilities then multiple threats and risks also will be there so that multiple SL-T also will be there. Can Multiple SL-T allowed for single assets ?
Hi @sayoojmpremji, It does not work this way, The highest is chose for the device, but against each FR (1 to 7) you can have different levels of SL-T as well.

@shivkataria Is it same criteria for zones too? I mean a zone will have different assets with different SL-T. So the highest SL-T will become the zone's SL-T ?

Gents, very informative session and I have gained heaps of knowledge watching this. I have a couple of questions - For GICSP, you mentioned the courses in udemy and I have seen they have a few "ICS410: ICS/SCADA Security Essentials" courses available. with an IT & 2 years of Cyber security background, how adequate these video tutorials will be? -Also, Practice exams, where do we buy them? registering via SANs for the course is very pricey but I video tutorials will enough to gain relevant knowledge and pass the exam? -To register for the exam, you buy the USD979 package (GICSP Certification Attempt) via sans?

It should be the Business Leaders or the Board.
