Marr is trying to misrepresent the facts. He is trying to blame the financial crisis on labour's spending policy. Up until the collapse of the banking system; caused by greed and stupidity, the national debt was around 0.5 trillion. This rose to 1 trillion over the next two years, caused mostly by bailing out the banks, not public expenditure. Now since the election of the conservatives, the national debt has risen by 1.5 trillion and is around 2.5 trillion at the moment. Why are they not getting attacked over bad fiscal policies? Let us not forget that this was during a large period of austerity, were government spending had been cut, which makes it even more appealing. Jeremy Corbyn would have been a far better choice because he would have served the people not big business. As a result he was demonised by the press.

1:20 Having left the BBC, Marr now says Johnson “innately unsuited” to lead U.K. out of COVID. So, after years of giving soft interviews to Johnson’s Government Ministers and attacking the opposition, whilst drawing a large salary from our licence money, he joins the bandwagon attacking the PM.

Brutal edit, it just kills Marr off. Suggesting the crash was anything other than regulation in the US is insane.

Marr is making an insane argument. There is 0 evidence that the crash had anything to do with government spending, indeed increased spending was the only thing that got us out of the crash (although very slowly) in the US. Lack of government spending in the UK has seemed to result in stagnation.

So common, blame social spending (which are not the causes of gov’t debt) but high tax

Marr is a spineless little man. Fetch!
