Leviticus 17-18 // Walk Worthy // Pastor Joel Denney

In this powerful exploration of Leviticus 17-18, we're reminded of the profound significance of blood in God's eyes. The life is in the blood, and this points us directly to Christ's sacrifice. Just as the Israelites were commanded to respect the blood of sacrifices, we're called to revere the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin. This isn't just ancient history - it's a living truth th...

As we explore the power of the resurrection, we're reminded of the central importance of this miraculous event to our faith. The empty tomb isn't just a historical fact-it's the cornerstone of our hope and the foundation of our salvation. We delve into Mark 16, examining the women's discovery of the empty tomb and the angel's proclamation: 'He is risen!' This account challenges us to consider o...

No sin is greater than another in the eyes of God... We all fall short but we can never fall too far from GOD'S Grace, mercy and love💖😊
And produce the fruits of Repentance
Thank you God for the love ❤you give me everyday 🙏🙏🙏🙏Amen
We can't establish a positive from a negative. Although we have instances of conversion without tongues being mentioned, we do find that Paul says he speaks in tongues more than any of them. It is reasonable from other passages that this started upon his baptism, more or less. I considering that Paul was a top-notch Pharisee horribly persecuting the church, it is reasonable that there would've been the sign of tongues to validate the question of his conversion, which is mentioned in Galatians.
And, at least 300 of the 365 quotes or paraphrases in the New Testament from the Old Testament are from the LXX, not to mention the dependence of some of the New Testament vocabulary on the sept.
If one thing can be observed, it is that the church has never truly matured. It has always been quite an immature, easily deceivable, and especially in these days, extremely divisive, like little children, and I mean childish, not childlike. There has never been unity of the faith, there has never been a general conformity to the son of God in mind or image, there is never been any indication of actual maturity. Therefore, we need the gifts, all of them. And as you have noted, the Bible makes no distinction between types of gifts except to say that the lesser gifts are the most important.
Eph. 4:11-16 Phil. 1:6 1 Jn. 3:2, 3
Good word. Thank you.
I was fasting and praying about issues in the church and myself, reading my Bible. I felt the Lord shared with me that many Jim jones like leaders were going to rise up and try to control people in churches… I am seeing this now.. watch out for the poison that’s being delivered…
Love this that Jesus walks amidst the churches! (Revelation 1:20 & 2:1) Thank you Joel! ❤️
As a worship leader, I choose songs based on their merits - are their lyrics true? Many Hillsong songs are fine.
Wow! A bunch of non-musical people criticizing a newer kind of music they don't like or understand. The next logical extension of this conversation is that this group of men will dictate which songs they approve of for all of us. Ridiculous! Stop tearing down someone else's act of worship - the Bible doesn't define styles of music that are holier than others. These grandpas do not in any way project the kind of joy of worship that king David engaged in.
Completely agree with you, brother!
Goodnees! Some of these guys sound like they're of "The Church Of The Frozen Chosen" Thank you for a balanced approach.
@MrMissmellie10 Glad it was an encouragement to you! God bless.
Thank you for clarifying who this is for up front. 🙏
@jojo2727-r3y Most certainly. Praying you were blessed!
You so right cant listen to music from false church or secular its not worship music glad u telling people
@RonEugene It's important what we sing to the Lord! It must be in spirit and in TRUTH!
So, @calebrussell5455, I went back and listened to the song again. While I may have misquoted the particular verse, the premise is still the same. The song is a restating of several "if A then B" statements, If the stars do this, or if creation does that or the ocean or the rocks, then "so will I" It's poetic and sounds lovely but unfortunately, it's backwards in its approach to praise and worship. I'm reminded of a quote from Wuthering Heights. The 1939 movie changed the book's original quote to something more beautiful and I believe it can be used here as an approximate example of my approach to praise and worship "Even if he loved you with all the power of his soul for a whole lifetime, he couldn't love you as much as I do in a single day" The quote expresses a depth of love and unwavering commitment. That's how we should approach praise and worship. Said in an approach to praise it could be stated as "Even if the rocks, stars and all of creation praised you for all eternity, they couldn't praise you with as much heart and love as I do in a single day." I am a lowly sinner who has nothing to offer the LORD but my praise. How could I possibly bless the Most High? What do I have, to show Him how much He means to me and how much I love Him? Psalm 139"14 says "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well." or Psalm 63:3 says "Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You" David clearly understands the depth of love and his position in the relationship and expresses back his true gratitude in these and many other Psalms I am the works of His hands as are all things under the heavens yet I am given instructions to be fruitful and multiply and told I have dominion. Romans 8 goes further and says the creation will be delivered from the bondage of corruption. Corruption man imposed on it. This implies it has been placed under man as well for if it was above us, we would have fallen alone. I guess perhaps you can look at this from a federal headship perspective as well Praise and worship should reflect what David shows us in !! Sam 6, as he leads the Ark into Jerusalem praising the Lord with "all his might." Praising the Lord isn't done by relying on others to take the lead in your home and simply accepting another's approach in a corporate or church body setting. We are to test all things, hold fast what is good. Do the words matter? Of course they do. Where in the Bible does it use adjectives like "reckless" or "fury" to describe His love for us? The former means without thinking and the latter is used with respect to His judgement only. His love is "steadfast" "merciful" "gracious" and other positive, reaffirming choices as expressed in Scripture. Why wouldn't we use that same approach in terms of music? We are instructed in Deuteronomy 6 "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up." Diligent means: in a way that shows care and conscientiousness in one's work or duties There is a lack of diligence in some music that I pray we do not commit when teaching Scripture as one is a reflection of the other. We take great care to go back to the Hebrew and Greek to gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of the text, why then do we allow all that hard work to be diminished by an incorrectly composed song? Last point, when He rode into Jerusalem the rocks were silent, because those on the way were praising the arrival of the King. However, Matthew lets us know that when the people stopped crying out, that is when the rocks cried out (more positional evidence perhaps). I hope you can understand my point of view here and of course, you are not required to share it. But as for me and my house ....
It is rhetorical, the writer is not in any doubt when he uses "If.." for example "If you gave your life to love them so will I" I do not for a moment think the writer is in any doubt that Jesus gave His life.
When a "Christian" song says, "When the rocks cry out, so will I," It's a song reflecting "show me and I will believe" aka a song for pharisees, not believers.
@PFavata Lyrics and songs like you've pointed out and others we would not encourage to be embraced (especially for use in the church) are reasons why we do need to be selective about the songs we sing in church. We can't sacrifice sound theology, but neither should we reject songs that are theologically sound but composed/written/produced by those with whom we disagree theologiclally (so long as they're orthodox in belief). This video, of course, is not a blanket statement, nor endorsement of ALL Bethel/Elevation/Maverick City, etc. songs. Not all songs should be blindly embraced like may do nowadays. We need to think through them critically to hear their message. There are certainly songs that don't meet the theological threshold.
Alright, how about we correctly quote the song. “If the rocks cry out in silence, so will I” And then in context “If the wind goes where you send it, so will I If the rocks cry out in silence, so will I If the sum of all our praises still falls shy We’ll sing again a hundred billion times” Skepticism? I don’t see it at all.
@@calebrussell5455 I will listen again and gladly stand corrected if so.
I find that to be a very forced interpretation of the lyric, reflecting YOUR bias. It is referring, of course, to what Jesus said to the Pharisees on Palm Sunday. As Jesus rode into town on a donkey, the crowd was shouting "Hallelujah," and the Pharisees told Jesus to shut them up. Jesus replied, "If they were to stop, the stones themselves would cry out." I interpret the lyric as saying, "You can't stop me from praising Jesus. I will cry out along with the rocks." It's not saying "I will only cry out AFTER you prove it to me by making the rocks cry out. It's saying "I will cry out along WITH the rocks."
@@ccdanville my issue is not with those theologically correct songs per se. Satan knew enough Scripture to try to temp our Lord with it and then also twisted it when he believed it necessary. That is the issue with the Bethel/Elevation/Hillsong's of the world. Someone says oh there's nothing wrong with that song, we can go to that church but it all changes after arrival. They don't talk about soul sleeping in their music, but they sure drill it in you and make you participate once you get there. It's their "Has God Indeed said" opportunity with naive people seeking the Lord. We unwittingly promote it by our open acceptance. We can hold fast to what is good but "young" Christians may be susceptible.
How absolutely wicked to describe what's obviously a perverse sexual attraction as the Holy Spirit. Of course our flesh will draw us towards sin in direct opposition to His Word.
The problem with scripture is that it was used to justify wars and killing of people with an other opinion. The scripture and its interpretations can not hold up to an highly complex world full of technical developments and new scientific research. The most true people of the scripture are the amish people resisting everything in the world. Churches everywhere else are falling apart and there are more secrets and denomiations than you can count. And there are more religions than christianity which say to have the whole truth as well. And I am not with people who read a lot and judge other people with the scripture. "You shall not judge". And who will be with god and who will not is Gods judgement. Jesus said to the criminals crucified bext to to him that today they will be in heaven with him. Only God sees through it all and knows everyones hearts abd obstacles. And not someone who can recite the bible perfectly.
The devil’s deception is strong in this woman. And so is her emotional conviction that is supposed to be believed.
Agree, but it's not an easy life
Yes brother continue with the good work, it's sad that Christians require to be repreached while we need to be reach out sinners from hell. Roman 10:9 if we acknowledge Jesus is LORD and believe in our heart God raised from the dead you're saved. The key is confessing Jesus is LORD ING over our lives. That's why Jesus said in Luke before we follow we count the cost. Remember the rich young ruler he left for the cost was too high. I looking forward to seeing if you can also tackle female pastors and women wearing trousers. God bless
Amen
You can only follow the examples of Jesus and that can be viewed in many different ways. I am My Brother's Keeper is also myself as my Consciousness and self-consciousness. I must govern and regulate my thoughts and actions. Jesus lived and died and that was the life of Jesus, and Jesus was resurrected but not of his former self and that is the reenactment in the church. Do not allow anyone to judge you as they have chosen the life they have and you have chosen the life that you have.
I wish more cessationists would hear out some more charismatics. I personally go to a church that is cessationists or sort of is bc they just don't really talk about the gifts much in a way where they are for or against it. I think when many cessationists think of charismatics they think of hyper charismatics rolling around on the floor and convulsing and they haven't really heard out the argument of more conservative Biblically solid charismatics. I am grateful to the Lord that I have come across some ppl on line that have opened my eyes about this. I'm happy with my church but I'm glad that I understand where other churches are coming from and I don't feel judgemental or divided from ppl who worship a little differently from my church. Id like to see more unity amongst Christians and its great that the internet (despite all the damage it's done to society) has allowed the body of Christ to understand each other better. Thank you for taking the time to share your point of view. God bless you 🙏😊
@gracew4194 Praise the Lord! We're grateful that you've been encouraged by this conversation. We agree that unity is important in the body of Christ. These doctrinal issues are important and must be discussed, but as you mention, not at the expense of unity in the church. There are doctrinal distinctions that are so significant that it becomes difficult to worship in the same building week after week (i.e., some believe gifts like tongues/prophecy/interpretation are around today, others do not), but if we are preaching Christ and the true Gospel, we're on the same team. And it also goes both ways-we charismatics need to walk with grace in speech concerning our cessationist (or open-but-cautious) brothers and sisters just as we would expect them to do with us. May the Lord bless you!
Just a little bit of logic, when Jesus was doing miracles he had groups of 5,000 men surrounding him, so in modern-day America if somebody was walking around doing miracles, they would literally have 5 million people following them at all times.
👏
STOP IT
Shame you stupid man😂
You say that experience is not the soul determination of whether something is true but yet you’re basing your whole argument on your experience of somebody speaking in tongues and giving me interpretation do you know how hypocritical you sound
@michaelolivero3400 You are right, experience is not the *sole determination of whether something is true. I argued along similar logical and biblical lines as Pastor Hines-he relayed experiences mingled with Bible verses, as did I. I've done many hours of intense biblical study on this issue. My conclusions run much deeper than that one instance, and as was mentioned in the video, the primary deciding factor in me no longer being a cessationist was this biblical study.
You missed solid bible teaching 1 cor 13 prophecy shall fail And quite honestly if you haven’t figured out that it’s in this dispensation of Grace then you’re gonna have a hard time trying to show when prophecy will fail in the Bible after our rapture good luck with that the Bible even says not one of these shall fail
@michaelolivero3400 I have missed no teaching on 1 Corinthians 13. In my opinion, this is the weakest passage of Scripture that cessationists use for their case. As mentioned in this video, I believe Ephesians 2:20 is the most suitable verse that could substantiate the cessationist position, but it's not all too convincing to me. I'd encourage you to read D.A. Carson's exegetical work on 1 Corinthians 12-14-you may be surprised to see who thinks that the way "perfect" has been commonly rendered isn't such a strong argument after all. And these videos are really for individuals such as yourself and for those who similarly use ad hominem and straw man arguments to make a point-they're rather uncompelling and vaporous. I'll never quite understand the brashness of those who argue for cessationism against continuationists. We're on the same team, and just like you, we want people to come to faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and for eternal life. God bless you!
www.amazon.com/Showing-Spirit-Theological-Exposition-Corinthians/dp/0801025214
great start off point of the burden of proof being on the Cessationist. Ill have "to circle back" to this video but we do need teachings on this subject and not just emotional, sensual, hyper-charasmatic rebuttals.
I enjoyed this - it was critical and edifying at the same time. It is great when God-fearing people are engaging in critical dialogue because they are "on the same team." God bless you.
@piwemkhize6032 Praise the Lord! My prayer is that many are edified and encouraged in their walks with the Lord.
