Great video. Thanks. Helped a lot. Be prepared though. If the wiring bundle on your model is too tight, you'll disconnect the fire stick connector and have it go underneath and clip the zip ties to feed slack back.

Do you find it challenging to cut accurately with this method?

question... mine is looking burned-out also, but what it's doing is pushing the air (smoke) back through the pellet hopper. Do I have a bigger problem you think?

The heating rod and cables are essentially parallel but under the auger tube. You have to get around it in order to life up. Also partially thread the screw before inserting rod into new pot, saves the stress of trying to hold rod in right place and trying to thread the screw at same time. Great video overall

Ah! The twist of the old fire pot to remove it is what I needed to know. This is the second fire pot I’ve replaced in about 15 years. I couldn’t remember how I removed it the first time. And the next time I’ll start the screw with a few turns first that secures the hot rod-it’s a lot easier to manage before installing the fire pot.

Couple of notes. I cut the wire ties on the wires under the hopper so I had slack to pull it out I had to push fire stick an inch into the burn pot and sanded it smooth before I could slide it out. Vacuumed under burn pot. 1/4inch exposed burn stick when installing is important. This maintenance after 2000 uses is not bad at all.
