A year after this video my friend upgraded his skyline to a rocket, blew a turbo, upgraded it again, and sold it eventually. It was just very nice to see two totally different cars drag racing.

At 0:13, it appears that the Jag begins to pull away much quicker, even as the Brake Lights come on!! he must be resting his foot on the brake pedal.

Not to take anything away from the Jags acceleration capabilities but that GTR isn't even pulling stock boost ! I own an X100 4.2 XKR and a standard R32 GTR Vspec 2 and the supercharged Jag is definitely quicker in the mid-range.

The normal X308 Jaguar / Daimler V8 had variable valve timing , the XJR and Super V8 didn't have that ! They had an Eaton Supercharger,boosting close to 80 BHP, above the 290 BHP the V8 gave. And the Boost starts early, when U rev above 2800, Supercharger will kick in, and with or without Sports mode, it is a Tribute to one of the last Musclecars ever made ! The AJ-V8 Supercharged Engine was so damn good, Ford decided they needed a 5G-Tronic Automatic gearbox from Mercedes , build for the SL600 !
You'll never feel it kicking in because there is no apparent lag like with a turbo. But it's there! It just boosts you through the mid range and leaves the high power V8 to deliver max HP after 5500. Mine is tweaked at the throttle body too. Where a factory XJR TB only opens to 85% or so, this one is at full 93% (maximum for the computer) no 250kmp/h limit and 0-100 within 5 seconds

Starting Sound make's U realize , U started a Distinguished Monster Engine inside this Luxury environment . Zo had mijn opgevoerde Kreidler vroeger ook een Fluisterpijp ! Greetings!

@@mikaelangelosgarage Je zal het niet geloven , maar deze ook december 2000. Komt uit Switzerland , in 2008 naar NL geïmporteerd , 2 stoelen achter, en geen klaptafels, type zegt NBW. Wat hield die facelift in? Groetjes !
@@mikaelangelosgarage Hi Mika, I'm interested in how you tweaked the TB to open wider? My dad has always mentioned how his mechanic did something to the TB decades ago and I never believed him since he doesn't know too much about this stuff. Now I read this and I can't believe it's true. Nowhere online can I find anything about this -- only TB replacements. Please let me know! :)

@@crissyb00 et non c'est pas un moteur Ford mais 100% Jaguar ! La voiture a été conçu par jaguar l'argent été bien américain mais le reste entièrement so british ..
