I created this channel to share my passion for EVERYTHING OUTDOORS. I will share my life experiences involving fishing, hunting and riding trails. Alum Creek Crappie and Channel Catfish

Went out fishing for saugeye and ended up catching crappie, bluegill and channel catfish. It was a very hot day and a new fishing lake. I highly enjoy a challenge. Had boat problems that led us only being able to fish for 4 hours. Biggest fish was a 14 inch crappie that weighed around the 1 pound mark. Can't wait to get back on the water. Went walleye fishing with 504 Sportfishing Charter with Captain Ryan Pettry. We went out of Fairport Harbor and went DEEEEPPP. The fish were sitting suspended in about 70-80 feet of water. Took a charter with NoWhere Charters with Fishing Captain Jim Cole. It was a great time trolling jet divers with spoons. Had a great time fishing with family catching a limit of walleye. Went on Lake Erie out of Fairport Harbor fishing for GIANT WALLEYE! We were trolling in about 70 feet of water and had to use multiple techniques to get down to their depths. Men, you need new Broadheads.... That deer suffered unnecessarily.. That is what gives hunter a bad name.... .
I'm not Bowmar... I always use new broadheads you goon. If I didn't, I wouldn't have gotten complete pass through with a fixed blade broadhead.

So I guess no size limits you can toss tiny tinkers in the bucket .. But you can learn a lot about how he handles fish on a hook .
No size limits in Erie for perch. When you are fishing at those depths their air bladders expand out their mouths killing some of the fish (especially the smaller fish.) Better to honor the fishery and take the small ones instead of throwing them back to die. They all taste GREAT!
what depth of water were you in? Wondering if a 7 foot light rod, 4 lb test and some 1/16 oz tubes would be productive
@@Jigger2361 we were in about 30 feet of water. Tough getting tubes down to that depth.

@@scottrudy8127 It's a very good channel cat lake. Crappie and gills have been small the last few years.
I used to fish Cearser Creek years ago. Caught a lot of crappies and sauger.
@@scottrudy8127 the crappie this year have been good size and a bunch of 10-12 inchers. Kinda surprising with all the bluecats they been dumping in that lake.
