Honda Jazz/Fit 2008-2013 CVT gearbox problem (swap). mk1, mk2, mk3 Gearbox
I tried to find out which generation gearbox can fit on my MK 2 Honda Jazz.
Even Honda Dealers couldn't answer that question, so I bought mk1, mk2, mk3, mk4 transmissions and I tried to compare them visually in the beginning and mechanically later on.
cost me hek amount of a money for transport fees, but here's the answer.
Mk1 - only mk1 as first get they come with manual or CVT only.
mk2 - mk1 + mk2 first and second gen are similar and so they fit.
mk3- mk3 + mk4 from 3d gen Honda have added semi auto gearbox to their Jazz models, so Semi auto, CVT, manual transmissions are compatible between 2008-2017 models.
p.s. Honda insight mk3 use same CVT gearbox as Jazz/Fit 2008-2012 only.
Advice: use your own source to gather information about your car.
I'm not mechanic and I'm using this as a guide with probability.
Different models and country of manufacturing can have different options.

Gearbox oil was never changed.
Belt was never changed.
Opening gearbox confirm that problem was caused by the belt, which was damaged after car accident and small piece of metal broke inside the gearbox.

My old 2005 Jazz has 186k miles and oil was replaced 3 times, but filters and belt are all the same.
2005 Jazz is better on fuel and handling.
CVTs are just awesome.

Just to prove that Yamaha makes one of the best engines. 107k miles and start, run, ride and stop like before. I can't really say the difference when I had 20k miles and 100k. Well serviced bile can last practically forever by my opinion. and here we have good example.

Renault Megane 1.5 Dci 2010 125000 miles Clutch pedal went lose within 20 min urban drive. This is one of my projects. 1985 Suzuki Madura GV700. Was SORN for over two years. Carb and fuel tank were dried up to prevent damage. Fresh fuel (3 litres) was topped up and the battery was charged. I hope honorable president Uhuru Kenyata to see this video. Regular police officers in Nyali police station doesn't care about people right. Video was shoot right after they beat poor guy outside. This was my first bike. Had a fairing with car radio, spkrs. I mounted a cell phone but that's another story. You should ride your bike more!

Apparently it’s a filter for the brakefluid
I did manage to find out it's job, it's actually there to dampen the pulses that return back thru the fluid from the clutch slave cylinder, it doesn't allow the pulses to travel all the way back to the clutch pedal... "Resonator" is what they call it..
@@amnesialen ive struggled to find a replacement so I’ve done a sketchy bypass with a rubber grommet and some zip ties. It’s holding for now

I am doing same bike as the cafe racer project. The tank is just a nightmare! I can not find better tank wich would fit without big changes in the frame. Do you have any ideas about tank? I gonna go for lithium battery under the seat and place it horizontaly, as well as all the electronics to clear up the space where air box was before. Gonna lower the handlebars aprox 10 cm.
Interesting, I am with same project. How did you do with your tank? And what filters did you put on how did you set the carburetors after that?
@@devibe9568 Good to know that i'm not the only one :) I left the tank as is, just used some filler and a bit welding. I know that is not the best choice, but i didn't want to modify the frame. I cut the rear part of the frame off to make shorter and fitted cafe racer style seat on it. The box for air filter removed as well and placed all the electronics in that place in the custom made metal box. Air filters i ordered from Ali express. Carburetors need to have adjustments after that because it's less resistance for air to get into carbs , you gonna need tool for that.
