I have a comment for Dr. Brown McClain. My name is Saily Valadez and I am currently in grad school learning about research methods. I am working on a Literature Review revolved around multilingual students in gifted education. Despite an article that I have read that you published, I see many similarities in my high school students who recently arrived from a different country. I’ve had students who were afraid of expressing themselves because they did not want to be seen as an outsider, very similar to the example you gave through your former student, Isandro. I will discuss some of your work in my literature review. Thank you for all that you do.

A new MLL teacher here. Thank you for this. I teach K-5 levels newcomers to 4.5. How can I make sure my students get all they need based on WIDA requirements? I have 38 students and don’t see all of them every day. I’m in Illinois. Our teachers are not ESL teachers so it’s just me. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

How do 504s fit into the school counseling program? I think you are talking to the wrong group.

Hello, thank you so much for this upload. I have a question about minute 30:00, where the implementation plan is outlined. Is this a 3-year process? why does it say year 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5? Thanks.

Thank U so much for this video! I'm into my 4th week teaching high school ESL (ML) and I'm still trying to find a solid, effective structure. Your video reassured me that I'm on the right track by mentioning exactly what I've been wondering - how to develop curricula, find teen/level appropriate readings, use a textbook or not, vocabulary lists, themes, etc.

WOW, what a powerful, profound presentation, Dr. Tucker!👏🏽 The most captivating piece of your presentation for me was “Building Relationship” with your student! If I were an administrator today in our school system, I would implement this presentation in my school. Well done, Dr. Tucker! Congratulations on your new administration position! The students and teacher will be in great hands under your tutelage!💫
