In this video we cleanup the house and the garten, install the wood shed made in the previous video and do a lot of other stuff. But the main job is starting to insulate the roof against wild Greek sun using an inverted roofing scheme. For that I increase the walls height on the roof by putting an extra layer of bricks. I worked on the gate and tried to make it square, when Alexandra reached me out and asked to make a woodshed. It makes sense: currently the firewood is just laying on the ground. While I was assembling it, Alexandra pruned the garden and burnt down the grass and cut shrubs. Other than that, we show a bit of a life in Greece here, like visiting stores in Thessaloniki, installing garden solar lig...

After a short break we're back to our old Greek house again! In this video I mostly build the gates on top of the posts I made in the previous videos. Most of this video is recorded during our workation so we could only work on the house at eveninings, while during the day we worked on our normal jobs. Other than that we perform various small tasks like pruning the garden, sharpening the chains...

While filming this video we had to face an energy problem. The concrete mixer which worked almost a whole day during the last video, depleted our batteries significantly. On top of that it was cloudy most of the days in addition to very short winter days and low sun. This led to a situation when we had to save the energy. That's why I couldn't start welding the gate, otherwise we had a risk to ...
#32 Living in Greece and renovating an old off grid house. Pouring concrete gate post. Garden store.

In this video we do some every day routine in Greece, like trying doing laundry. Also we visit a garden store where Alexandra buys a whole car of various plants. Meanwhile I finally pour the concrete gate post which I managed to finish in one day thanks to my new concrete mixer. Then we continue doing some small house jobs like plastering the ceiling and building a drywall in the bathroom. Time...

I'm preparing to continue working on the gates and do minor works on the bathroom while Alexandra makes our plot a bit prettier. Behind the scenes I drive to various places to buy a concrete mixer (it was a difficult task!) and a gift for Geralt, which I'm then assembling. After that my own gifts were delivered which is a big bag of sand-gravel mix, cement and rebar :D Time stamps: 00:00 Neighb...

It's winter and we're back to our house! In this video we arrive to the house after long time of absense and start working on building a concrete basement for the new gates. We decided to spend this vacation to make ground work because it's only possible during the winter. In summer the ground is too dry and hard, and almost impossible to dig by hand. In this video we start to wrap up small tasks which can be done after work, since now we're working full day. I build a small sandbox for Geralt, install an LED strip behind the bed and mount a DIY ceiling lamp in the bedroom. Outside I mount a chain to kinda show people that somebody is living here and "please don't get in at least with your cars". Also we've got some footage from our wildlife...

My and Alexandra's vacations came to the end, so we started to work remotely from our Greek house. We can only do this for 10 days a year so we'll stay here for just 2 more weeks. This limited our possible renovation workload, but we still continue doing something after work. I finish small works in the bedroom: install an electric socket and a big round mirror. Also I finally reached a thing I...
#27 Old house in Greece renovation. Pouring a concrete shower tray. Custom marble table.

In this video I pour a conrete shower tray. It was quite a tedious task honestly. I spent about 10 hours on that and I couldn't stop: I needed to finish pouring in one day. A proper concrete mixer would help a lot, but I don't have it so I mixed everything using a drill mixer. I even broke one! And I was lucky to find an open hardware store in my area, almost everything was already closed becau...

Nagyon ügyes a férfi. Mindenhez ért. Csak ilyennek való egy régi ház.
I enjoy watching the transformation. I like the enthusiasm for all of the tasks, tgere is so much more than it seems it will be. I also love that the whole family is involved.
Keep making videos! I am so impatient to see how your work progresses! I would install at least 4 or 6 more panels (depending on your MPPT controller), the electricity costs will only increase in the future!
Thank you. Yeah that is the plan to add more panels. The electricity cost doesn't affect us since we don't have an electric connection. No electricity - no problem :D

Yes when it's the season. I believe there were a couple already since when it was recorded.
Hi , your channel is amazing; I've never seen this type of construction work before. We would like to show part of your videos in some video/s report about your channel. We will add your link, your name, and your work will be mentioned in the video. Thank you!

Love the House and the Place. I live 14 years on Crete.
Your videos are captivating. Could you please let me know more about the mosquito device "life saver" @ 22.39? Where can I get one?
Thank you. This is an anti-mosquito spiral and basically is sold in any supermarket here. You can buy it in Lidl or Masoutis. I also started to use an anti-mosquito spray later after this video. It was not enough to only use a spiral.
Good job 👏

Another amazing video but this time you stepped it up with your oh so adorable son with his description of his house that he loves. You are an amazing family!!!
Great work guys 👏
Amazing video, great and very precise work on the roof. Keep making videos, dear family!
Another nice video! it is really interesting to see how you guys are working on the house!
Love your videos, by far my favorite renovation in Greece, your son is adorable and the whole experience must be wonderful for him, all the best for more great achievements and videos!
Thank you! I appreciate that a lot!
You're doing amazing job with your house! Just bear in mind that outdoor fires are prohibited in Greece and are considered a felony. You should ask local authorities to inform you if there is a period where you can burn brambles and branches
Thank you. Yes we know, we never burn branches or coal when it's not allowed. The fire hazard starts on May the 1st in our area and this was recorded in the end of March.
🥰

Hey, I was missing your videos, man! It's summer, keep filming! 😀
I will do my best!
Nice video! How’s the gate coming? Is that beach Halkidiki?
Thanks! It's coming good! We just realized that if we don't make the roof now, we will suffer from heat the following summer. So it needs to be finished quick. Yes, it's somewhere on Sithonia :)
I was so happy seeing you post a new video! keep them coming!
Very fun and nice in the end ❤
:D We've got a new cameraman I guess...
Excellent idea for insulating the roof from the brutal Greek sun. Not a typical Greek installation using this German/Russian method.
Thank you! A usual Greek method would probably cost us like x10 or even more.
I enjoy watching your renovations. To find the level of gas in the cylinder pour very warm water (not boiling) down the side of the cylinder. Then move your hand along the wet area till you feel the change in temperature. The cold area is the gas.
Thank you! Sounds like a nice lifehack! I wonder if there is a way of checking that "remotely", I mean without going to the gas storage place. I can only think of a manometer installed near the heater.
6:59 AMAZING cable-management!👏👌
Got it, might consider spending more time reimplementing an already existing solution next time 👌
New here, from Athens! Welcome to Greece. If you need any help tell us.
beautiful and so simple. another incredible episode. thankyou
Молодцы! I really enjoy the passionate work you do with you lovely new home!
Thank you for the kind words!
Now you have to sell it for 1500 like all youtube woodworkers do.
I wonder if someone in Greece would buy a thing like this. I would maybe consider changing my occupation then! :D
Another nice video, are you using the gas bottles to power the fridge?
Thank you! No, it's a usual electric fridge. It doesn't consume a lot of electricity. We use bottles for cooking hob, for water heating (when there is not enough sun) and sometimes at winter for heating using ceramic indoor heater.
Extraordinary progress and vision. Everything is coming together nicely.
Proceeding very well 👏

Since i saw the fires in your proprerty i wonder if you know of the obligation of the owners, (otherwise penalties)... (It concerns built-up properties located in forests, woodlands, peri-urban greenery, declared wooded, reforested and grassland areas, as well as within a radius of 300 meters from the boundaries of these areas. It also concerns buildings within parks and groves of cities and residential areas.) ... will have to submit the Risk Assessment Form and the Technical Report with their accompanying data, through the authorized professional - administrator, by May 10, 2024, while the Responsible Declaration of implementation of the fire safety measures by June 10, 2024. Those new fire protection measures (with high cost of preventive measures) have ignited "fires" among property owners, making those properties increasingly unprofitable!
Thanks for letting us know. Yes, our neighbors also told us about that new law but in general everybody feels very relaxed regarding this. They think it will be postponed because even authorized professionals have no idea what they need to do and how. Also the timeframes are really inadequate.
