When you list a few great player,besides gary: michael manring,jeff schmidt, mo foster, eric czar, eberhard weber, mark egan, jimmy earl, marcus miller , ........ If you like fretless bass and know not all musicans i've listed, give them a try.

Thank God for Gary Willis, who shows us how to be great bass players. Without him we wouldn't be able to learn by seeing how it's done.

Felix is nailing it. @ 9:46, That's what Chambers does. Meter modulation in his solos. Take a groove in ⁴/⁴ then drop to half time straight or a shuffle. Henderson & Berlin said the were really counting where 1 is when Chambers was soloing with HBC.

I love gary. He is probably my favourite bass player in the world.
