@ so like “rough” as in not as great as the rest. And I’ll elaborate, some spots look as if if not built up high enough, uneven spots. But I can’t tell if it’s just the camera angle/quality or the sun hitting it just right, or a combo of all of those

I like the outcome for most of the truck, and it gives me hope that mine will turn out okay too. Just want to make sure I’m not going crazy

Thanks! It doesn’t say the length in the Walmart description. Most people use 5 inch clip but it’s expensive! Glad to hear the smaller one are enough!

I was going to do a 6 month update video. It's been 5 months and zero issues so far. No flaking, no chipping, everything washes right off with the rain. It did fade slightly to more of a matte black which I was hoping for. Do get a few head-turns from people on the road but definitely happy with it for $200. That makes sense. I just have one hand on the net and pull it back as I'm lowering the blind with the other hand. Only a few pieces ever touch the water. Maybe the grass pieces are longer on you're blind compared to mine?

The only thing I don't like is that the grass covers the throttle, but it is still manageable. I like the side console from the standpoint of being covered by the blind, having room to walk, and for gear.

@@Duck-It. This is the only reason I was considering getting the beavertail blind over a DIY "scissor" style. All the material lays on one side while it is folded down and we could put that on the port side of the boat.

Yeah it would be nice if it stuck out another foot where the console is, but then it wouldn't fit within the guide poles or even down the highway lol. Your plan makes sense I've just never seen that style in real life. If you watch the end of my Raffia Grass video you can see that the throttle is covered by all the grass.

That's a good question. We don't use a dog, so I have not considered that. With one of the other long lines, the setup was different. Off of each decoy there was a one foot piece of 550 cord that dropped down to hide the main line better. I would imagine the dog would be able to go across it better that way. I changed it because it was harder to put it in and out of the bags.

Yep. The blind overhangs to the water line, so we just tuck it into the boat if we ever need to go from spot to spot. You can see just fine when driving too.

I leave it on the whole duck season. When it would rain, I would stand it up to let it dry. Everyone said the grass can last you 10 years if you keep it dry. I've stored it in my shed as one entire piece for the off season. Going 70 down the hwy it has never given me any issues all year with only those 2 orange rachet straps. I never do for my truck, but the filter on the boat and my car are hard to get a grip on so I do. I could have mentioned that better in the video though. Thanks for the tips though!

@TinyIowa I have not seen the Herculiner in other colors but I could be wrong. I have see the Raptor liner brand in other colors.

Agreed but I tried to do a worst case scenario. In the shade and normal temperature of course it does better. One day I will do a head to head comparison with different brands.

Slightly. I could have cut the ends but didn't want an abnormal straight edge. I always let it air out after I got home anyways because that is supposed to be better for its longevity.

Which brand? I wanted to pick one that was heavy enough not to blow out of the boat when empty, hard enough to sit on without getting dented over time, and somewhat of a camo color to be in the duck boat.

Just picked up a gray one at costco $149. Going to give it a shot and see how it works. It's a bit heavy. I would prefer wheels but they do sell wheel kits on amazon.

I would say it is lighter than the same sized Yeti but I agree about the wheel option. For me, it is mainly the boat cooler so I like how it doesn't slide around.

Yeah it is Suggs Mill Pond. It's an impoundment permit draw.

Everything depends on the situation. For us it's the best because it's light and we mainly us them for impoundment hunts. They have other bigger creek boats but then they aren't light and portable.

@@Duck-It. I was looking at the M98 but the price is a little high for me. I think the M80 would be perfect for my situation because of its weight, perfect for getting through thick timber and getting over beaver dams. And if I need more space for decoys, I could just get one of those sleds that you can tow behind the kayak.

They are built out of Albemarle, NC but idk if they have shipping or other dealerships that have them. I'm fortunate it's not too far from where I live.

It works great. Very sturdy. No signs of needing fixed. Rides down the road great. The ONLY thing is the throttle is hard to get to when the blind is layed down but I just keep it pushed to the side when driving.

Sounds good. I have a side console Pro Drive with a Raymarine mounted on top of the console, and the commercial blinds available aren't tall enough to clear the RM unit. You can make it work, but a PIA and I shattered a screen last duck season. I like the fact you can customize the height of each side. @@Duck-It.

Yeah yesterday's hunt was pretty windy and I'd say it blocked almost all of the wind. Tuesday's Hunt is supposed to be cold so we will see how well it holds in the heat with the Buddy heater.
