Patents if too broad can be thrown out, if Palword's mechanic is different enough they could win, or if the patent was made after Palword then it can be thrown out.

So people here forget that Microsoft has invested in PocketPair and Palworld and as a result this woll most likely turn into Nintendo VS Microsoft/Xbox and if that happens Nintendo will be forced to back down by just as zealous AMERICAN Lawyers. So really its a matter of how much is Microsoft willing to get involved and how long PocketPair can hold out in court. The reason that the Lawsuit was filled in the Tokyo Cour5 and not International Court is because both companies (Nintendo and PocketPair) are Japenese and the fact that an International court would almost certainly side with Pocketpair But if Nintendo wins this will cause a chain reaction of lawsuits that could see tons of indie developers who make games like fps or rts struck down by Activision or Sony or any other AAA company.

The only patent that could come to mind is one about pokeballs and how they work? And Nintendo does have a patent for that... That they created MONTHS after Palworld came out. If there are other patents that Nintendo is referring to, then sure, they'll probably win; but if it's the pokeball patent, they are losing this lawsuit, Nintendo might have cooked themselves to a crisp here lmao EDIT: For those of you curious, I don't know the exact patents, but this information comes from Thor aka PirateSoftware, which is a gamedev themselves; so I trust their knowledge base on this topic
