It sounds like she acts this way (abusive, rude, aggressive etc...) when she has been drinking. When sober she seems to suffer and very conscious of the consequences of her actions on herself and her daughters. Shaming her won’t help, I can’t even imagine how scary it would be to be judged on TV for her mental illness and drinking problems. It’s a viscous cycle, she drinks to escape her reality because she’s weak. Of course it doesn’t excuse the fact that her daughters have to suffer from it but I think her actions are more a cry for help rather than selfishness and Dr Phil even with his “many years of experience” seems to not get it. From my perspective he seems to be more an expert of drama TV rather than human behaviours.

Why would he tell her daughter’s that and shame them like that?! It’s still their mother and they’ve suffered enough on account of her actions. Shame on you Dr Phil!
