Howdy! This is the boiler-plate [BOTTOM TEXT] that populates the end of my video descriptions. Tom’s Mechanical Videography is a spin-off hobby TH-cam channel I created to house videos related to mechanical systems and DIY stuff. I’m a conservationist/biologist in my professional life but I’ve long had a passion for up-cycling, which is a fancy way of saying I’m cheap and like fixing broken stuff that I get for free. The primary purpose of this channel is a repository for informational videos I make related to solving niche and frustrating problems I encounter. That extends to vehicle and small engine repair videos. The secondary purpose of this channel, and the bulk of its content, is to motivate me to regularly think about and work on the garbage that I accumulate throughout my day to day life. By imposing a demand for [C O N T E N T] and an upload schedule on myself, it helps me actually work on all this trash in my yard. I don’t ever intend for this channel to make money or be successful, nor do I really want it to. I’m making videos as efficiently as I can with a phone camera and 10yo editing software in the limited time I have, which is my excuse as to why they all suck so hard. I have zero interest in making a career out of this or taking anyone’s money (other than TH-cam’s if they’ll pay me).
If for some strange reason you enjoy what I do, please consider SMASHING THAT MA’FUGEN [SUBSCRIBE] button. I don’t plan to quit anytime soon. Also, constructive criticism about how I can suck less is welcome but please keep in mind that I am a smooth-brained inbred hick and I probably won’t listen anyway.

I put everything in place and just used the old broken belt to pull the spring. the trick is to hook the spring from the side, not the top, it will slide right in. took me all of about a minute to put the new belt on this way.

I was thinking of removing valve stem, adding a little water to help activate it, filling it, then replacing valve and adding a little air to help expand tube and cure. But now I am wondering if just filling the tube like you did will be enough. If anyone tries it, post below and let me know.

I paid the extra 8-900 dollars for the one trip container it was most definitely worth it glad I had it it’s in great shape just need to silicone the holes I used self tapping screws and I get great sun so going to go with solar fan with battery and solar light with battery with thermo stat and might run electric line for a plug in and light just in case for back up run conduit incase my kids have to deal with it and bury it 1-2 feet under ground my cross boards will be above head 7 feet then 1 on the ground and that will wedge it drew together and some of those L brackets to help keep everything in place as I’m going to fill up both sides with tools lumber over head in the pathway that I left in the middle and will be -1 2 foot shelf waist level and a 16 inch shelf under and then 2 above evenly spaced leaving 10 foot at entrance with table on back side of door that folds down on each door with 2 folding legs for projects so I’ll put a roof over entrance in case of rain I can still use the tables for projects rain or shine maybe a tiny deck up in 23:01 front of the door same floor level with ramp for easy in and out and if it rains heavy I won’t be standing in water and probably use composite decking with lots of treated and water proofed framing for ramp and then I can go get organized and get my butt back to work and finally have a home for all my tools instead of being spread out amongst 5 projects always trying to find something so I bought a wagon so I can pull any tools to any project and end of the day put everything back where it belongs for security and low moisture it’s a good thing I spent more and got 3/4 inch and I’m going to caulk and treat all wood but if I was in your situation I’d do what you did with what you had always trying to utilize things that I know I’ll need some day and a lot has been recycled into this project from left over on many other projects. Great video and it made me think some more. Sometimes when ya have 20 projects going on lol things get forgotten and watching your video helped me and so I do appreciate ya🙏😎👍👍😁

Fantastic idea! I was put off by either the poor quality or high price for a barn door track intended for outdoor usage. Your idea not only provided a higher quality construction, but a much lower cost to construct. I bought the parts and intend to build in next week. Thank you!

Back in the late 1900's in Central Florida where I grew up, it was "cool" to balloon big mud tires (18" X 44" was legal at the time, don't know about now) out on really wide rims. 18" wide tire on a 24" wide rim? No problem...unless you didn't have ether. And with tires that big, you had to have a locking air chuck on the valve stem and a buddy with the air line kinked ready to let it loose as soon as the tire went "foomp" or the air inside the tire would cool down and suck the bead right back off of the rim before you could get the chuck on the valve stem. Note: the rims were made by butchering a few sets of rims to get the flat center band and welding them together to make a ridiculously wide rim. And yes, they didn't last long, the center disc would always start cracking around the lug holes and have to be replaced. Good times!

Its “U-Strut” or “U-Channel”, not “T-Post” for anyone searching for an identical runner to his. I know alot of folks these days are too lazy to read a long paragraph so after typing the one below, i figured i’d add an extra line or two at the top so the lazy ones can still get the assistance if necessary, even at the risk of coming off/seeming like one of those know-it-all assholes that has to correct everything on TH-cam because he’s “smarter” than the creator’s (or so he thinks lol). Thats not me at all, ive just had problems trying to find things online before because i was searching an incorrect name (of a tool/part) that i got from a youtube video lol so just wanted to hopefully help someone from having the same issue lol. Original Comment: Not trying to be that “know-it-all” asshole that feels the need to correct any and everything on TH-cam and really just hoping this may possibly assist a viewer if necessary. But for anyone that may not know and possibly has trouble finding a matching “runner” to the one he used and calls a “T-Post” in the video…its technically not a T-Post. Its called “U-Strut or “U-Channel”, and will probably be alot easier to find online and such, if specified as such when searching. Actual “T-Posts” have a thin, kind of arrow shaped plated on each side of a t-post, about 6”-12” from the bottom or the post (making the post look like a lowercased “t”…hence the name lol). T-posts are mainly used for the various types of light duty wire fencing around farms, pastures, etc. and would NOT make a good DIY runner for a barn door. 1. Because they are MUCH weaker and rigid than U-Strut. They bend very easily by hand. A basic stick of U-Strut like stop signs are mounted on, on the other hand, is all but impossible to bend, with anything less than a full size vehicle at 30mph+ lol…which is more than rigid enough to hold up a sliding door 👍🏻 Good job on it btw, to the creator! I had a similar idea in mind and just couldnt think of what would make the best runner…your “t-post” idea was a dang good one 😂Seriously tho lol. Earned a subscriber here! 🤘🏻

The air gap on the husky coils is supposed to be 0.3 mm but the defacto standard of 0.010 inch also works. Those amazon coils probably would have worked if you didn't set the gap so huge. Your hot start issues may have been fixed by re-gapping the original coil to factory spec (0.3 mm) as well - I've been finding many reports of closing the "huge" factory gap on the 435 to fix an apparently common hot start issue on them.
