ADDING A QUICK COUPLING TO A CHINESE EXCAVATOR
มุมมอง 545หลายเดือนก่อน
Today we try to make the "micro" excavator more versatile. We install a quick coupler to the machine to make changing out buckets easier and to hopefully make the stationary thumb preform better. I also try my hand at an excavating technique that I have never tried before. Thank you for posting!
Im glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful video, great job operating. I like your machine lineup. I run a Kioti CX2510 & a AGT QH12R mini excavator, they seem to be a great combo for getting a majority of projects done.
It is a great line up. They compliment each other well. How do you like your Kioti?
@JustCaidsDayFarm I really like my kioti, it works well for my needs and I have very little complaints, I've never gotten a chance to compare it to anything though. I'd like to run a John deere or a kubota sometime to see the differences.
I love my Kubota but same as a John Deere they seem to be getting pricey. I have heard good things about Kioti.
You did a good job. How much weight can that excavator lift? How big a root ball could I haul off and load onto a trailer?
Thank you. According to the specs on the website it has a load capacity of 200kg converted to around 440 lbs. I highly doubt it can do that but I have not tried to lift anything that heavy. As far as loading into a trailer I am not sure. so far I have only put 11 hours on the machine but I can tell you that it is tight loading dirt into the back of my gator. It lifts just high enough to dump.
the blade needs to b at the front makes machine longer
Thanks for the tip
Always lube before any tap or die work.
Hi when you dig the push blade should be on the side you are digging from, Have fun!!
Yes that is ideal. However that is not the case in all circumstances. For example if you are on a slope and are using it to level that machine. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I just went to another huge consignment auction and they had a lot of those there. Those things sell like hotcakes!
They are super handy for the price. It will be interesting on how long it holds up.
Good morning Justin
Hi Gary!
Thanks, I was just given one of these bandsaw and was bummed when it didn't cut straight.
Glad it was helpful!
Where did you get the instructions from?
I bought a year subscription to alldata. I was very happy with it. I could not have done this without it.
Nice work Justin. Have a great weekend.
Thank you! You as well!
Damn don’t hold that project in your hand put it that vice that’s in front of you. 🙄 You need a Tap and Die lubricant. I would suggest to watch a couple of instructional videos good to do every now and then even if you know what your doing sometimes we forget things.
Thanks for the advice
great work that's what I'm doing on my yard but it's taking me the entire season to clear tree's. Now I'm all caught up putting everything in my back yard and looks great before winter
Thank you! It’s so rewarding to see the end result. I’m hoping I can get there before the snow flies.
Good morning Justin, what would we do without our tractors. Have a great week, Ben 👋😎👍🍻
Hi Ben! They truly are life savers!
It does feel good to clean. However, it also feels good to not be cleaning. lol🤔
lol very true!
Hello, I have cleaning up to do as well. Ya keep the truck around nice job.
Hi Ross! It feels like the cleanup is never done. Dayna wants me to scrap the truck but I still fee like it has some use yet.
Good morning Justin ☕️☕️🇺🇸
Hi Gary!
I have a L series i got a flat on last night. Was surprised to find it had a tube. Was hoping just to put a plug in it. your video was very easy to follow
I’m surprised it had a tube as well. I am glad the video was helpful!
Good work. Darn old trucks.
lol thank you!
That thing is wicked!
Thanks Gary!
Working great Justin 👍 Nice job!!
Thank you Ben!
There should be no noticeable wear on the tap's threads after only one hole. A tap should cut threads in several dozens of holes before becoming too worn. I've had Morse 10-32, 1/4-20, and 5/16-18 taps last hundreds of holes before needing to be replaced.
I think the wear I had was from forcing the tap in a hole that was too small. Maybe I am wrong I am not an expert on this at all. Thanks for commenting!
I’d be interested to see how you have your hoses routed.
It's hard to explain but here is the video where we made the hoses and you can see how they are routed. th-cam.com/video/DPMghXNc-Lc/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching Gary!
Good morning Justin
Hi Gary!
Good morning Justin 👋😎👍
Hi Ben!
Suggest you avoid inflating tyre flat on the ground. For safty reasons it should be standing up. I have been involved in post accident investigations of two incidents where tractor tyres were inflated laid flat on the ground. In both cases the worker was inexperienced and in trying to seat the bead put in too much pressure and the lower tyre bead/bead wire failed. First incident (a large tyre) the tractor tyre and rim hit the roof of the workshop after literally taking the face off the worker who was leaning over the tyre/rim. Worker ended up with permanent facial and spinal injuries and brain damage. Second incident was a tractor small tyre. Similar failure, no injuries however tyre and rim went through the sheetmetal roof of the aircraft hanger they were working in In both cases tyres were low pressure tractor tyres and were over pressurised trying to seat the bead Please stand them up or inflate /seat the bead with the rim on the tractor. If a major failure occurs the air will discharge without "launching" the tyre.
Thank you for the advice
Editing these compilations is a LOT of work too. Nice job on the whole project. 👊
Thanks Lucas! You are not wrong. Going through all that footage took a lot of time.
That project was a lot of fun. Now…. For the Case SC
I am really hoping to work on it this winter. That is if I have funds available. It pains me to see it just sitting there!
Good morning Justin
Hi Gary!
I have the same problem - the blade is deflecting outward. I'll definitely go with your solution, but I wondered if you're using the stock blade the machine came with (typical Chinese garbage)? I'm likely going to swap mine out for something better (maybe a Starrett or Portland) and improve my chances. For the Harbor Freight/Central Machinery model, they list for about ten bucks, so it wouldn't break the bank to do so. Great vid!
Thank you! That was not the blade that came with. I changed that out almost right away. I don’t remember what blades I bought. The bummer is I still have the saw set up exactly the same with the same blade on it and the last time I tried to use the saw it threw the blade instantly. I guess I need to try to align it again. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good morning Justin!😊
Hi Gary!
Great work man! Keep up the good work/ videos. Have a nice weekend Justin.
Thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you!
What Grit of sandpaper did you use to sharpen the blades?
I believe it was 80 grit.
Great way to spend the afternoon Justin. Enjoy, Ben 👋😎👍
Thanks Ben!
Here is a tip, when you are digging, put down the blade and slightly raise the front of the excavator. This will help stabilize the unit when digging. I do this with our CAT mini excavator and it almost eliminates the bounce when digging.
Thanks for the tip!
Love to watch how patient you were getting the head off single-handed. Good Man. I almost strated swearing myself cause I know how akward that must have been. I looking at buying an '07 (6.6 LBZ, with 160k mi.), and doing the same job. The owner said it was blowing coolant out of the reservoir. I'm 76 years young and been wrenching on my stuff all my life, and don't really think I can do it being the fenders are up so high then reaching down so low. I looks like it's a "Back-breaker" !! Anyway, Hope it's running good for you.
Thank you. It was a pain. If I was able to do the job inside I think I would have taken the time to remove the fenders. I think it would have made the whole thing easier. The truck is running great! If you buy the truck good luck with getting it fixed.
You are headed in a great direction however if you look at others non-vibrating screeds you will notice a very steep angle so they are self cleaning. I built a vibrating screed and have a slightly steeper angle than your and still have to stop and clean it off some. Another idea is get the wife or kids to run the rake while you sit on the powered toys :-)
I wanted to build a vibrating one and had some plans in mind but time says otherwise. I agree that a steeper angle would make it clean easier but I do like the fact that while I am raking I can break up the dirt clumps instead of them just rolling off. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Good job
Thank you
Don't fear the machine.. respect it and learn it's/your limits! You can use the boom and bucket to stabilize the machine in almost any situation!! I am hoping to get a mini for working small jobs in buildings and backyards here in the Bahamas real soon!!
I did use the boom to get it off the trailer. I have unloaded a lot of mini excavators in the past. This one is just awkward. It has been really handy so far.
@@JustCaidsDayFarm my apologies.. that's the Dad/instructor in me thinking everyone is a newbie and needs my 5 cents... lol
lol it’s all good
What a great idea, and it gives you some special time together!
Thank you. We really had a good time
Nice new addition to your farm! I love how Caidance is eager to help you and already knows how to drive it!
Thank you! She really had a blast driving it
Congrats! That's a cool little machine!
Thank you! I call it my micro excavator
you look and act like one of my uncles.
Thanks!
Thank you!
That is so awesome watching her drive it! Go Caids!!
She had such a blast on it!
Love the new machine.
Thanks. I haven’t used it to much yet but it has been handy already.
Heck yes! Great work you two!
Thank you!
Looks like you have a winner on your hands. You'll have a hard time getting that away from her! 😂 That looks like it'll come in real handy.
Thanks Ross! She asks me all the time if she can drive it. I think once she learns how to control the arm it’s all over for me. Lol
