Meat market - the day I stopped eating meat (mostly)
We visited a meat market during our time in Yangshuo. It was a grim atmosphere and made me question whether eating meat was worth it. I filmed this several years before the covid outbreak, but I believe a market similar to this was the origin of the virus and I am not surprised. This place was dirty and pretty gruesome.
Filmed with Nikon D500, Sima 70-200.

I don't normally video sports, so this was a new trial and error experience for me. I was also photographing the event that night so I didn't get quite as much footage as I would have liked. It was an amazing night and I hope I was able to capture at least some of the energy that was that the rink that night. Nikon D500 1080 60p test

Okay, so as of 2018 I have decided to focus more on video projects. This small section of relatively pointless footage is the Nikon D500 and 1080 60p slowed down to 24p. I think the results look okay. But the video is significantly less detailed compared to the 4K. I shot this on Mont Royal in Montreal.

Hi Mike I know this video is now 4 years old, are able share your settings on your camera please. My guess would be f2.8 1/500-640 shutter with and ISO around about 3200? Thanks from Mark in Australia

Hi, Am planning to buy nikon d500 with sigma 17-50 2.8. But I have some doubts... is the lens perfectly compatible with D500? The autofocus is fast enough? The image stabilisation and is the lens sharp enough ?
Yes to all. I have owned the Sigma 17-50 for a few years now, it is my workhorse lens and and it has been great. I did have to send it off to be repaired about 2 years ago, the focus drifted and was slightly back focusing. Sigma fixed the problem and I got it back within a week. The other lens you could consider is the Nikon 16-80 f2.8-4. I tried out this lens and compared it to my Sigma and decided to stay with my Sigma lens. The Nikon 16-80 is heavier, has a stiffer zoom ring and is only f2.8 at the widest setting, as soon as you start to zoom the aperture closes down.
