@ballistic657 Hey there! Yes, of course. I would recommend a mix of ranged and melee combat. If the Fireteam are not bunching up and working together too tightly, I like to start off by singling out a member of the Fireteam. Once you've done that, hit them with a ranged attack using a fully charged plasma shot or two from a safe distance like a tree or big rock, and immediately jump down and throw your combistick through them and then immediately follow up with a barrage of wristblade attacks until they are downed. Once you have downed them, immediately quick claim them and jump out as fast as possible so by the time the other Fireteam members try and rush to his rescue, it's too late. It is important to note that you should only jump down after you are confident that you have done enough ranged damage to allow for the combistick throw and wrist blade follow up to be most effective. Also, this combination of attack must be done as quickly as possible so the Fireteam member does not have enough time to use his health stim right after receiving ranged damage because if that happens then (depending of the fireteam member's build) your follow up melee strikes may not be enough to down him. If you're having trouble singling out Fireteam members then it can be a lot more challenging to use this method. In the case where they almost have their backs super glued to eachother the entire time, then I would suggest spamming them with a mix of fully and partially charged plasma shots in order to do damage and also potentially cause panic which sometimes causes them to split up in an attempt to avoid taking damage or to find health packs. If you manage to split them up then do as a mentioned before and use the plasma, jump down, spear throw, wrist blade slash combo. Another method which I use to deal with Fireteams, who almost seem to be working as a single entity is to use guerrilla or "hit and run" tactics. In this method you would constantly be bombarding the Fireteam with fully charged plasma shots. If you do not have cover from the position you are firing from then you need to immediately jump to a new spot after firing one shot to prevent the Fireteam from dealing damage as they begin to fire in the direction the plasma shot came from. If you're firing your plasma caster from a position where you can take cover if necessary then you don't really have to jump away to a new position unless you're trying to confuse them about your exact location. You could just keep popping out and firing from behind cover, however there is a technique called the "peek-a-boo" technique which you must use in order to do this safely. Basically the "peek-a-boo" technique is as follows: Remain behind cover and take advantage of your 3rd person view to see where your target is without exposing yourself. Once you have identified your target, still behind cover, point your laser sights at the rock or whatever you're using to hide behind and begin charging up your plasma shot. Once it is fully charged, quickly pop out from behind cover and point your sights at the prey and release the plasma shot and by the time they see the laser sights it'll be too late. As well as using the "peek-a-boo" style and firing from different locations each time, you should also jump down right in the middle of them surprising one of the members with a few melee hits and then immediately jump out and resume the ranged attack. The hit and run method must be done with as much speed as possible and when you jump down in between to do melee damage, make sure it is very brief because you don't want to get melted by the team if you stay in there too long. Another thing to remember is that you don't have to limit yourself by only doing ranged damage from trees or big rocks. You can apply these methods from the ground or from above. It's best to mix it up to add an extra level of confusion, and keep the Fireteam guessing.

@primevalyautja1305 I sometimes switch between the youngblood predlocks, and the default predlocks but I wouldn't use any of the other ones because I feel it would take away from the classic/OG aesthetic of my Predator. I prefer to keep it as close to the original film as possible with the exception of armor shaders and skin shaders which I will occasionally play around with.

I have been getting them quite a bit, as long as it only happens at the end of the video then I'm not too bothered by it because by then the match is over and everything that I needed to be recorded was recorded. The only real bother is the XP points that you lose out on at the end...

Yeah, I only use this class just because I missed out on the Jungle Hunter '87 pre-order, so this is as close as I'm gonna get until I receive my Ps5 physical edition that comes with the Jungle Hunter '87 class which I am extremely excited about. Once I receive the Jungle Hunter '87 class, I will no longer be using the captured class unless someone specifically requests it. There's just something about that OG Predator that I can't get enough of. Also, the reason I use the Fearless, and down range Perks is so that I can do a little damage from afar and finish it up close and personal with a melee attack, claim the skull and disappear before anyone has even smelt me.

@LoveLestat I agree, I think an urban environment would be amazing. I was thinking something along the lines of Los Angeles in Predator 2 where you could get DLC characters like Mike Harrigan and his partners, and the AI enemies running around the map could be gangsters from the various gangs in the movie.

@@NOTthaFATHER_420 yeah i thought of that too but then i thought it would be a bit unfair if the predator can get ontop of high buildings and snipe you pretty much with the plasma caster, perhaps in a suburban are without really tall buildings

@LoveLestat He can pretty much do that already in the trees and on the rock formations so it wouldn't make much of a difference, anyway it would be cool to see how they would implement something like that.

@LoveLestat Yeah, definitely think the buildings would have to be sized down a bit, like you can't have the Predator sniping the fireteam from on top of a skyscraper. There should only be certain buildings spaced out evenly that you could actually get on top of, and the the rest of the really tall ones should be there just for scenery.

@GGboys1 You should hop on again while it's still hot with the new update and new players. Before the update, I was waiting ridiculously long in the queue to play as Predator but since the update, I haven't waited more than 3-5 minutes. The game's not perfect but it's a lot of fun, and as I've said in the past if you're a hard-core fan of the Predator franchise then this, in my humble opinion, is the most authentic experience available to the fans at the moment.

@oo7hashassin173 Nice, man. It sounds quite effective! I don't own the Amazon pred though, I'm looking at going for the Bionic pred as my next DLC purchase after the Feral predator of course. I really hope after the Feral predator they will release a more classic looking Predator, something akin to the Jungle Hunter, which I regrettably missed out on, but different in some way. Not sure if there's maybe something like that, that they could draw inspiration from in the comics and novels, but I think that would be really cool. There's just something about that classic predator look that I can't get enough of. I'm not a big fan of these weird looking Predators like Feral, Super Predators etc.etc.

@oo7hashassin173 I can believe that, Amazon looks like a good class. I only use the captured or "crucified" Predator for that reason exactly, he's almost identical to the Jungle Hunter. And fun fact, if you read the description carefully for the captured predator you will find that this class is actually not the exact predator featured in the film but rather a Hunter from the Jungle Hunter clan "who wears" the mask of the captured predator featured in the film, so technically he's a completely different Pred all together except for the mask.

Yeah, I'm very glad that people are still playing this, I don't think it gets the credit that I believe it deserves. It's really the best, and most authentic Predator experience out there at the moment, there's nothing quite like this game that recreates the feel and atmosphere of the original movie from 1987. I think only true fans of the franchise can truly appreciate the game for what it is, it's not perfect don't get me wrong, but it's better than nothing. I wouldn't say the player base is massive, it's very small. Don't quote me on this but I think I heard somewhere that there's maybe 50 people on the game at one time. There is some new content to be released at the end of the year which I hope will reignite a bit of interest in the game even if it's just for a while. Also they are introducing an Xbox and Ps5 version of the game which I'm also hoping will increase the player base. I know it won't dramatically boost the player base but I'm hoping it does make finding matches a little faster, and again even if it is only for a little while. Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it.

If you are a fan of the Predator franchise then I would highly recommend this game as I believe it offers the best Predator experience available, it really puts you in the "sandals" of the alien hunter. On the other hand, if you have no idea what the Predator is or don't have a strong interest in the franchise then I wouldn't recommend it as you may feel as though the long queuing times are not worth the wait. Also there is a slight learning curve, the game may feel impossibly difficult at first but with patience and perseverance you will get the hang of it and be able to enjoy it more and savor every match that you manage to find.

Yeah, I am not huge on playing as the fireteam, I don't find it as appealing or fun as playing as the Predator but that's just my opinion. I think the game definitely is a lot better than it was at launch, but there are still a lot of bugs in the game that it could do without. Unfortunately I don't see any attempt to rectify them on the horizon. There was an update that released a couple months back that made some very minor changes that you can read up about on Illfonics website. Also they are planning on releasing an Xbox version of the game as well as a Ps5 version which I am looking forward to. Two new Predators will be added to the game at the end of this year and then in spring next year they will be releasing even more Predators. The game is not perfect but I think if you're a BIG fan of the franchise then it's nothing you can't look past as it does offer the most authentic Predator experience available at the moment in my opinion.

I think it depends on your region, I am in South Africa so it takes me quite a while. Sometimes I can wait up to 45 minutes before I find a match but other times it's fast like 3-5 minutes. I have a friend in the Netherlands who finds games very fast, mostly 5 minutes at most.

@@NOTthaFATHER_420 I'm in Italy and I tried to play only in the morning waiting about 10m, but maybe there are more people in the afternoon / evening

@gugol-s4i Yeah, it can vary depending on what time you play. I'm busy waiting for a game right now and I just found one, it took 52 minutes but it is 22:32 now where I live. I find games easier during the day so I'm not surprised.

@abdi-he9hk Yeah, I would imagine most people would want to play as the Predator, I'm sure it does contribute to the long queueing times. I kid you not, sometimes I wait from 30-45 minutes before I find a match. I don't know if it has something to do with me living in South Africa but 5 minutes sounds like a dream to me to be honest. Sometimes I am lucky though and I find a game in 3-5 minutes depending on what time of the day I jump on.

Thank you for the comment and compliment! I am aware of this technique and I do try my best to lead my shots. I need to adjust my sensitivity a bit because it does feel a little slow and stiff so that could be the reason I haven't been as accurate as I could be. I'm going to play around in a private lobby to calibrate the sensitivity and with a bit more practice, that should fix the issue.

Yeah, the lack of new content is a little disappointing, but overall it's still a great game for someone who's looking for an authentic "Predator experience". I feel like the game really captures the feel of the original movie from 1987, in terms of suspense and fast paced, intense and unexpected action, it really forces you to stay on your toes and think strategically and creatively.

Yes, people do still play this game but the player base is very small so it may take a while for you to find a match, especially if you want to play as the Predator, but if you want you can also play private matches with friends. Also Illfonic are releasing new content at the end of this year, plus they are adding a PS5 and XBOX version so I'm really hoping that will help to give the player base a bit of a boost even if it's just temporary.

I think the best way to get better with the Predator is to be more strategic and understand that you can't just rush in against a really good fireteam. You have to soften them up with ranged damage before going in for the kill with a melee attack or a quick bow shot or throw of the spear, then depending on the situation either claiming the downed member immediately after downing them or shoot them with the bow or plasma caster from a distance while they're downed until they're dead before their teammates can revive them. It helps to kill one or two Fireteam members as early as possible making it easier to hunt down the rest of the fireteam. Also it takes practice to get good at doing ranged damage with any ranged weapons, the trick is to "lead" and time your shots when the opponent is moving which is almost always if you're up against a good fireteam. I would also advise you to fire from a distance and move positions immediately after, making it more difficult for the fireteam to know where you're location is. If you're not using the dithered lense perk then your laser sights are very much visible to the fireteam and make it easy for you to be spotted. With the plasma caster, I would suggest you point the laser down at your feet while you charge it up for maximum damage so when you quickly point it up at them, by the time they see the laser, it's too late and they have a fully charged shot coming for them. Also utilizing the trees and high ground is vital for ranged damage and then every now and then you mix it up and do ranged damage whilst being on the ground, it takes them by surprise when they're used to you shooting from the trees and then you suddenly start attacking from the ground level. As for leveling up quickly, I would suggest doing private lobbies with some friends and "farm" XP, or just get good and grind the good old fashioned way by waiting ridiculously long to find a match as the Predator with random players.
