I haven’t had that issue. If the machine is producing steam but the trigger on the extractor hose isn’t producing steam it may be a switch issue. Have you contacted Fortador ?

Hi there! The extractor hose is only 15ft for the larger diesel hybrid machines and while it would definitely clean carpets the reach of the hose would be an issue. You may look at the Fortador Volt mini

I haven't made any videos showing panel cleaning on the outside of the car other than the most recent review of the a new attachment coming this year for the machine. th-cam.com/video/ZsT9vmfwy7M/w-d-xo.html I understand your frustration and I'll try to get more of these videos made of how incredibly helpful this machine is to use on the outside of the car. Filming steam cleaning equipment is a bit challenging because the camera isn't capturing just how dirty panels really are, or how much steam is actually coming out. Everyone that has seen the steamer used in person is amazed by its power - so I'll do my best to get some more content made.

Thanks for watching - commercial steam cleaners produce many times the steam pressure of small machines (4 to 5 times more) and an incredible amount of more volume. Also these machines can run all day. There is a significant difference when using any commercial steam cleaner that is diesel powered versus a small 120v unit. The machine built by Fortador in this video features a burner assembly from Lamborghini's heating division that produces up to 35 kilowatts of power (nearly 47hp).

100s of vehicles have been cleaned. I never lost a day of work because machine has been down. This is however, a highly technical and powerful piece of equipment. It does require maintenance and DIY knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems is helpful. The only thing that has broken was a plastic connector for the extractor ($40 part) and the connecting high pressure steam hose behind it (available at local parts store). The Fortador machine is so helpful when detailing and the time maintaining is small in comparison to the benefits of using the machine.

Very good question! Since Fortador Blue Wash and ONR are very effective as standalone products the steamer aids in some incredible ways: First off, especially on the front and lower sections, you will notice bugs and most road film coming right off with a pass of the steam gun. Secondly, from a higher viewpoint - using a no rinse soap within the steam allows you incredible versatility on virtually all of the cars surfaces (inside and out). You can use ONR with a wash mit and wipe over a panel, and while doing the same with the steam gun and a microfiber towel accomplishes "washing the car", more contaminants are removed because of heat and pressure (just like using cold pressure washer vs just using a hose).

The higher the steam pressure and volume the quicker the cleaning in general. For example, most 110V steamers are less than 100psi, (not to mention steam volume) with the Fortador diesel units 16-20bar (235-295psi) you have considerable more power. Steam is effective even at lower pressure, but your cleaning time won't be as efficient. I've tested the unit in a 400sq ft garage and maintained a safe carbon monoxide level as per OSHA guidelines. In general though, if using indoors a ventilation system should be in place. It is not fumey though like a diesel truck.

The extractor is designed for upholstery and carpets. Cleaning leather is best with the proper chemicals and the steam gun at a safe distance. Steaming of headliners has to be done very carefully and under some circumstances the extractor can be used. Generally, steaming at a safe distance with the steam gun is best. Hi Juan! It’s fantastic with carpets. I frequently just spot treat stains and steam. Really heavily soiled carpets I steam extract and use the carpet shampoo injection that comes on the larger Fortador units like mine. The pressure and the volume of steam is what makes all the difference. Plus, it’s fantastic not having to soak the carpets like traditional detailing when using a hot water extractor.
