also, since a few years, the town has really picked up on events during the summer, almost every other week or so there is something to do. be it a special market ,a music event , a carnival, you name it. also the the last two weeks of December they have a walking tour throughout the center highlighting the buildings and places of importance to the city. this tour is in the evening with special light shows and highlights.

Timon, the tribe you visited before Grand Canyon is pronounced WAH-la-pie (Hualapai), which is the tribe that owns the Skywalk. I'm glad you got to experience this. Back when I visited in the '80s and '90s, (before smartphone cameras), you could actually drive your car right into Grand Canyon Village at the South Rim. But, sadly, with the advent of those cameras, and the inherent ability to instantly send a picture to your 100 closest friends, the parks are now overrun with tourists.
