This was a tough match for sure. I ended up shooting my Glock 17 with a 507k and some great grip reduction and texturing by my buddy John P. That grip work saved the day in the constant down pour we battled all day. My hand chalk wasn’t even sticking to my hands. Fresh off the Mason Lane Gunskills 2 class, my hands were hammered and I had some new skills to work on. Decided to shoot the match with the dot occluded since the class showed that I am extremely dot focused. I battled staying target focused all day and some splits suffered for it. The plate rack on the first stage ate my lunch and kicked my dog, but overall the match went well.

Day started out wet and muddy, but overall it was a fun match. It’s been a long time since I have a shot any type of multigun match and there was some rust. Overall I was pleased with my transition from one firearm to the next. But struggled going from PCC to pistol with a proper grip. Tough day overall. The mental game was definitely not running at full capacity. A lot of make ups on steel, a forgotten reload and one slip up with losing my cool while having a bad stage. But I will say, I had a killer time with my squad. Some good people and goofing around to keep the day enjoyable. 🤙🏻
SOAP PCSL/Outlaw/HitFactor match 3/10/24

My three goals for this match: get my alphas, get the gun up coming onto targets and 100% reload execution. Got the hits. Felt pretty good with my gun up coming in on targets. Was about 60% execution on my reloads. Rushing them and not keeping an eye on the magwell lead to a couple botched reloads.

Another great Level 1 match with Level 2 stages out at Linden. I started the day off leaving my belt/holster at home. Luckily enough my buddy Ernie came through and was willing to swap out his rig with me after every stage run. Overall a solid day of shooting. One stage hit me hard. I just couldn’t stay away from the no shoots.

Excellent shooting! I see you're shooting occluded. I train with occlusion, but never tried in a match. How's it working for you?
So far it was been working really well pulling my eyes away from the dot when transitioning. I was surprised at how much it has helped with steel as well. There are still some make ups on steel but those are usually due to me rushing off to the next target.
I understand the poopie attitude! Have that more than I should! The experiment with that plate rack is interesting because in our local circle we've concluded it is almost always better to attack closer when possible instead of taking long shots. That said, you smoked that plate rack at 25 yards or whatever that was, which is a massive risk of time suckage for 90% of everyone.

I brought it out to shoot at this match and a match next week. Unfortunately have to back out of next weeks match. But I recently had work done on the grip so I have been wanting to see how it shoots in a match environment
