Tim Dog!!! My boy it's been a hot minute. Miss sharing the bandstand with u. Glad to see ur still doing the damn thing. Much love brother.
Thank you for the lesson JazzEd these triads are just what I need!!!
Well You Needn't popped into mind on the first two methods.
Great stuff, really enjoyed yalls playing! I think the bass could be micd better
This is an excellent lesson. Your focus on the three triad pairs that work over the dominant sound and blues is a game changer! Thank you!
very cool man, thanks. And with a A minor blues ?
Thank you for the demonstration. I’ve been experimenting incorporating this sound in my playing, but find it challenging to capture that rhythmicity which you demonstrate so well. I sometimes feel like I’m playing an etude rather than swinging. I’ll take some inspiration from your sound!
the root and b9 sounds like Straight No Chaser
Great stuff Marcus ! Thank you so much !
I like doing root and 2nd then you can make a hexatonic scale
I played with him. Look up Cool Jazz Byron Center High School 2024. Will be on Channel BCTV.25.
Awesome bro!! Well done!! Now i understand tritones much better. I like that augmented run as well. Sounds beautiful. 👍🎩👍
brilliant
I have seen his video about Jazzed Masterclass: Triad Pairs, I liked it a lot, I am a Cuban with 71 years of age, I live in Florida, in C'uba I had no opportunity for a good teacher, I ask, you have some curriculum progressive ones that can there? I saw your videos and your style like a lot, greetings and thanks.
Very good
Damn, this is so helpful! But here's a dumb question: on the blues, you're just playing the different triads over the simple I, IV, V blues pattern, building the triads from each chord, correct? dumb question, but that's what I heard. I'm a comeback trumpet player. I've been practicing tritone triads but didn't know how to use them. This vid gives me enough things to practice for weeks ahead, so huge thanks, Mr. Elliot.
Thanks for what you are doing.
You should point out that this system was first taught other Saxophones plsyer WAY WAY BEFORE YOU WERE BORN .
Tanks so much for your video. Great solo of sax and piano, two friends that play en relax whitout compétition. Great lesson . By
This is really good. BTW what mouthpiece are you using?
Diatonic, diminished, Phrygian dominant. Go for miles with these!
Loved your Triad Pairs lesson ! Thx !!
The root, flat 9th triads over the blues reminded me of Monk - will check them out today
Did John Coltrane use the triad pairs a lot please? It reminds me of his sound somehow
Thank you for posting this!
Yes , a super clear description- helps me progress improving-thankyou
As a guitar player, just hearing it helps a lot thank you
best triad pair explainstion. ty
'PromoSM'
Best explanation of triad pairs I’ve seen so far! Great job!
Thanks brother. Best ever
I have know about triad pairs from back in the days when I tried to catch John Coltrane at every opportunity that was made available to me. With that being said, I would like to say that you have explained triad pairs in a very easy to understand way that will be most welcomed on the subject.
Thanks for sharing.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I played around 15 greats without really ever going above the F you mention. at least I had no control over it. I’ve been practicing high notes every time I play my trombone for the last year, and now I can easily play up to the D, sometimes even the F one octave above, and on a food day I can edge out the Bb one octave above the one he played in the end. It all just comes from deliberate practice.
Excellent advice. See also Andrew Williams video on doodle tongue technique. Start slow and persist.
Awesome, very generous sharing!
Great lesson. Thank you.
Very inspiring! Let´s get it!! :)
Very nice! This helps a lot! What mic is that, What mic is that? I rehearsal in a similar setting (small untreated room).
Very nicely done. I appreciate your encouragement, "Have some fun with it!" I very much look forward to doing it.
basically charlie rouse
love the video!
Nice job - limiting it to 3 pairs over dom as a start is good.
Nice. I hear this but you inspired me to work it.
Nice man!
He's not giving you enough information, It's not step by step so that makes it to vague
Just 2 pairs of triads you group together based on an interval which he covered here and stated how you can improvise over certain chords whether literally or as a scale. What didn't you get? :)
Triads are easy to find. (skip a note, skip a note). You can also type each tried he mentioned in google if you don't know it.
Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuchas, GRACIAS,
Very cool and informative lesson Tim! Subscribed!
Wow! - Well Done!
