A wee catch up as August slips into September... Audio wise, I don't think that the Bell MX-9 got a fair first ride. It was just so blustery today. The winds were swirling around and gusting at 40-50 mph. Taking that into consideration, I don't think that it did too badly. And will certainly be good enough for my Sena intercom when it (hopefully) arrives back from being repaired/replaced. Look ...

You're living the life my man. How many bikes do you have?
When this video was made I still had four Nico. Just a small overlap (at least that's what I told my wife) as two were ready to be sold on so that I could have the Sled 😉😂
Those bovines in remote areas are damn near wild animals. I'm surprised this rider didn't end up as one of the many people who are killed by cattle each year.
@@shamoy1000 Not so bad here in Scotland. These ones see people daily and seem to live along the roadside. Makes it easier for them to move around the valley. Still, I wasn't going to risk startling them by reaching out to pet them on the way past.
👍👍
Spectacular. And, as always, such lovely weather 😎
@@CodgerBiker Managed to get 4 PIGs from that one trip back in May. Feels like that was years not months ago 😭
@@CampbellZeroOne It's been pretty crappy all round this year 🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧
@@CodgerBiker And still it rains...
1:38 I would really avoid mounting like that. Side stand screws into the engine block, and that joint is made out of butter. Ducati specifics...
@@Ilikethemotion Good to know. Thank you 👍🏻
That's just your backside reminding you, you are becoming Adv. Go Merekat!!!
@@CodgerBiker My butt is no longer capable of going on any adventures... 😉🤣
@@CampbellZeroOne Keep going. Ahead lies wisdom, and a bloody big screen 👍👍
@@CodgerBiker 😂🤣 Not a chance! Well, not this week at least 😉
Nnnnnooooooooooooo😮
😂 You should keep going, it's only a sign. I would 👍
I can publish it if you like 😉👍 Good luck!
@@CodgerBiker Upload imminent...
@@CampbellZeroOne Good Luck this time 🤞
Been there, but no 👕
@@CodgerBiker Only because they don't do tee-shirts 😉
We got home today Rob, had a fantastic time, and honestly, over the 12 days of riding, we only had to ride in rain for about 1hr total 😲 So fortunate with the weather , we brought some sunshine back with us to Derbyshire, and I’ve left you some for the coming week 😁👍🏼 It’s been an amazing tour yet again , thank you and your kin for the incredible hospitality. 👌
@@wilswood8137 Well in that case I'd ask for a refund. You never got the full Scottish experience. I went north today and got a whole TWO hours of wind and rain on the return leg alone! 😂💦 Glad to hear that you both had an enjoyable holiday mate 👍🏻
I see 44Teeth emulated your pillion ride. Did you have to have that medical? It's been a fallow biking year to be sure. 👍
@@CodgerBiker No medical. Just signed the usual stuff. But you were medically insured in the cost. Got hardly any views that. But Mrs CZO and I will be watching it into our dotage.
@@CampbellZeroOne That's all that matters. 👌
Editing, conditions, wind noise, god knows what else…the time it takes to put it together, but it’s another sanity outlet! Audio sounds good mate 😎👍🏻. Been a paltry year for biking, or at least it seems to have been! along with quite a limited summer or so it seems as i’ve also been away with work when it’s been decent. I keep Almeria ( Being my favourite track) in my weather app and it’s still 26 deg there! dunno why, it’s a bit depressing at times 😂 maybe time to relocate! but very hot in the height of summer.
@@twistandgo3414 Yeah. There's a fine line when it comes to temperatures and riding bikes. Somewhere in the low to mid 20's is spot on to me. If our weather was a little more predictable, I'd say Scotland would be right up there as one of the best places to stay and motorcycle. I've taped over the inside of the chin vents. Seems to have helped a fair bit 🤞🏻
I got an issue with the loose ball joint, it doesnt hold the mirror anymore, could be the heavy vibration on the handlebar cause the issue. is there a way i can tight the loose ball joint. I cant find any screw to tighten it up
There's not a grub screw on it. I have that a mention on the follow up video Mobo. You could try putting a drip of super glue/loctite on the seam where the ball joint and mirror meet to see if that works. Otherwise, I'd drop Oxford an email and ask if they can help you out. Seems to be a design flaw that should have been foreseen.
Which scorptions are you comparing with the rally or the ralley str?
@@jpa208 STR
The mirror comes out of the box facing towards the bike? How do you spin the mirror to face outwards?
@@V2Movement These mirrors are sold separately as a left and right. Have you bought two for the same side?
Ace. Great experience I bet. Much better ridden yourself on your own bike though! Let me know when you fancy going! And we will Book it! 😁👌👍🏼
Going back for tuition in the spring Chris 😉
Nooooooo! 😂
Yeeeeeeeeees! 😁
Light loads are dangerous in high winds... Glad you are staying a good distance away. Driver needs to pull over to be safe..😮
Shoud've live reported it to police to prevent an accident.
@@OAikoT I'm pretty sure that the guys in the truck behind (along with the convoy of traffic behind that) were already on the case. They had their phones out.
@@CampbellZeroOne Would hope so. I know it's harder to do on motorbike unless u got helmet with Bluetooth.
@@OAikoT And unfortunately, my Sena is out for repair at the moment 🤷🏻♂️
Not used to tiny uk b roads
@@Jk-oz5qn That's a tiny UK A road 😉 Hundreds of other freight/whisky/wood lorries a day manage this particular stretch just fine. Lots of them foreign. I don't think that was the issue.
Yup! Don’t want to behind and following that for any longer than necessary!
@@twistandgo3414 Being on a bike came in handy for sure. Everyone else looked like they'd been stuck behind it for miles.
Tbf your better off being behind that then in front of it
@@Neon_guyy Places to be though. He wasn't even hitting 40mph most of the time.
@@CampbellZeroOne thats true
He’s just being lazy and using the whole road
Just trying to be a dick and block you, you should have ridden at 5 mph once you passed him and git in front.
Nah I wouldn't risk it. Better to live to tell the tale.
@@Jools-j2l It did cross my mind. But realistically, there was more chance that he'd have driven over the top of me 😬
Drunk or didn't like bikes Ethierway Dangerous
@@chopperhehehe He didn't like bikes, cars, lorries or vans. We were all queued behind him 😉
what muffler are you using? sounds good
It's a Leo Vince LV10 @Cnuggets
@@CampbellZeroOne Thanks man, Appreciate your reply 😃
do you have customizations you made to make it sound like this?
@@Cnuggets Other than a K&N air filter, no. I think that the narrow streets in the video help with the sound a little. But that's pretty much what you get even with the catalytic converter still in place. Here's the link to the installation video. And if you look for the 'Project 401' playlist on my channel there's lots more bits and bobs with the Svartpilen in there: th-cam.com/video/4LyI8_gD1tM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QQncAK_c_YmsXg6B
Do you prefer the 790 or the DS?
@@Neil-f3v Pretty difficult to compare them directly Neil. The Sled was bought to do the job of both the 790 and Svartpilen 401 so isn't really in the same category. Handling, sound and power wise the 790 easily wins out. But for a long day in the saddle on any kind of road surface in any weather condition, I'd give that to the Sled. The Duke always surprises me. When I haven't ridden it for a while it's easy to forget just how good a bike it is.
Thanks for the reply. I now have an Indian FTR which is bonkers and my 790 is going to be exchanged for a DS as I felt the duke would always be a second choice to the Indian so wanted something different. I have enjoyed the duke. 😊
@@Neil-f3v Ooh! Very nice. I had my eye on one of those when they came out with the carbon version. Had a look at one in Saltire Motorcycles Edinburgh. It does come across as a bit bonkers 😂 Sounds great too. Well in that case, a Sled won't be a bad choice to have next to it in your garage. Especially if you fancy going further afield. I do need to improve the throttle response on my one though. It needs a cam to shorten it/speed it up a little. I think it'll liven the bike up a bit.
Blimey not even the street fighter is safe in your garage Rob 🤣 looks nice, I was sitting on the sp one in Manchester Ducati when the mrs was buying her new bike , very nice, I have my eye on the hyper sp if I’m honest Order us some nice sunshine please mate, we are on our way up a week after next 12 nights enjoying your amazing roads, and hospitality 👌
@wilswood8137 Had to go to Portugal for some sunshine ourselves. It's been a terrible summer. Forecast looks good for next wee. Fingers crossed it lingers 🤞🏼 The Monster is a cracking road bike, but the Streetfighter is safe for another year yet. Tried both the Hypermotard SP and Hypermono. Enjoyed both, but preferred the bigger 950 SP. Best Ducati Ive ridden to date. Just too bloody tall for me to feel comfortable with if I had to stop somewhere unexpectedly.
Saw your posts from Portugal , looked great ( jealous about the pillion ride ) Being 6,3 the hyper fits me perfectly its definitely on my radar 👍 and fingers crossed the sun gods shine ( keep your rain magnet indoors please 🤣)
@@wilswood8137 In that case, the SP will fit you perfectly! Just for you, the Streetfighter will remain tucked away beneath a reflective foil cover until further notice!
🤣👍
I recognise an expensive test ride when I hear one! 😉😂👍
@CodgerBiker Yeah. The service for the Sled was extortionate! 😉
Really worth the work. It looks very good. I recently bought a 23mod. Thought I would get used to the license plate hanger, but it will never be good. Looks like an E-bike. I will definitely do a tail tidy this winter. It makes the bike a bit more "masculine".
@@hallvardstorvik362 Yup! Any tail tidy is an improvement. Some folks like the OEM hanger. But to me it makes the bike look like a scooter from the rear. Definitely more 'scramblery' with it removed 😁
I have 2024 Svart, did 10k km on Scorpions, back tire is more or less done and front is like new. Soon will put Mutants on my bike...
@@1911doc That's a LOT of km on those Scorpions 😯 Well done!

I used to think my Moto Guzzi V7 was a "forever bike", but it showed me they don't exist... it was a long term bike for sure... owned it over 11 years.
@@HippoDrones Eleven years is a bloody good innings though Pete. And at least when you went your separate ways it didn't cost you half of your home and pension 😉
@@CampbellZeroOne 😀true.... although customising the bike cost me more than buying a second V7 new! 😀
@@HippoDrones Ah! The honeymoon period, when you lavish her with gifts... 😂
@@CampbellZeroOne Haha... I think it was at around the 5 year point I customised it

@flying5145 No action cameras of our own allowed bud. But you'll get to see my wife's reaction as she got off the bike for sure. Priceless 😂

100% Yes, If I ever sell the Aprilia I won't be riding anymore.
@@DukeOfTwist Admittedly that's a great (possible future classic) But again, I'd still sell it for newer and shinier... 😂

@@DukeOfTwist I get it. I mean, it must be a bit boring riding the same old roads in your tiny country 😉😂
@@CampbellZeroOne Your funny but my brother went for a 900 Kilometre 2day ride last week on his most recent purchase a '21 1290 SDR GT on say 1/2 the roads I've never seen.
@@DukeOfTwist Good bike for it. Been watching loads of vids of Aussies on adventure bikes lately. You're spoiled for it over there.
Hmm… I wish I’d have kept some of mine! However I think we change bikes based on circumstance and requirements at the time. I bought the VFR as a nostalgic and project type purchase and don’t see that going anywhere soon, although everything is for sale at the right price!? You always go in to it with your head (sometimes) but mostly your heart but as you know, bikes are about passion, involvement and how they make you feel and ticking the box at the time… it’s a tough one. Just ridden the new ZX6R and I’m in love with it but really don’t think I could own it for a duration and it’s quite similar in performance to the 765 but provides a different experience. Forever bike? Dunno… but as you say, once you have been fortunate enough to tick the box of having what you want, something invariably comes along and has a different box that needs ticking. It’s a Great position to be in for Us to be able to change them based on circumstances as many are not. Gotta love em’!
@@twistandgo3414 Aye. That's the good thing about bikes. There are so many different categories and budgets to choose from, that you can usually home in on something that suits your needs and tickles the old cockles at any particular time in life.
Ha ha! Nice scenery btw. If you had a forever bike, you’d have it. But I can see your point, you’ve never been lumbered with an MZ - yet! I can always change my will. 😂👍
@@CodgerBiker In your case, the MZ chose it's 'forever human'! 😉
@@CampbellZeroOne 👍😂
Hello how is the quality of glasses compared to rizoma 150+$ mirrors
@@TheMrHudsonGuy Hi there. They are okay. No distortion in the mirrors and seem to be holding up okay so far. But they aren't in the same league as Rizoma. My only worry with them is that if the pivot becomes loose, there is no way to tighten them up as there's no grub screw. If you can afford Rizoma, go for it. If not these will do the job and suit the bike.
Out in the sticks there ;)

@@nipso4367 Not so much as it was for his insurance company 😬
Nice little video rob. I’ll be honest, initial thoughts were the wing nut and flat head screw need to go for stainless button hex head screws and nylock nuts but you’ve left it like that for quick and easy removal! Looks good and in keeping with the bike! 👍👌😎
@@twistandgo3414 Cheers Chris. Yeah, it just makes it easier to get it off the bike if I'm not using it or giving the bike a good clean.
