나르한 휴일 오후, 휴식시간에 담배를 태우며 듣는데 너무 좋아요. 청아한 '피아노' 반주에 낮고 굵직한 '첼로'와 매미들의 합창이 어우러져 이미 오케스트라의 연주가 되었습니다. 실록의 푸르름과 휘몰아치는 바람에 구름은 소용돌이를 일으키고 비가 내린 뒤에 도로가에 생긴 작은 웅덩이에 제가 커피를 마시던 종이컵은 작은 돛단배가 되어 이리저리 흔들거리고, 정오의 따사로운 햇살에 사물은 다채로운 빛을 발산합니다. . . . 이렇게 2024년 7월 24일 수요일의 시간은 시원한 바람을 타고 강물이되어 유유히 흐르고 있습니다.^^

I have never seen this instrument played so beautifully! Jing Yun has full command of this instrument so does not have to watch her fingers. She obtains the full tonality of every note and embraces the entire emotional spectrum with a singing quality! Totally superb! Best Double Bass player EVER! Very sensitive piano-playing, with half-closed lid is a fine contributor to this amazing performance. This goes in "Favorites"! Many thanks, from Canada.

As mentioned before, I did not hold the double bass in high esteem. My apologies. As a student composer I did not consider using it in a concerto setting, to rely upon my cello instead...see see. 🍧🌹

She is really good, but she is not really playing it as though she is playing a double bass. The vast majority of the time she is solely on the G (highest) string, occasionally finds the D (second highest) string. The double bass' lowest register, and its two low strings, are almost unused. That's fair enough, since the piece was written for the Arpeggione, and that has the same range as an ordinary guitar, no lower. So really, the double bass did nothing that a 'cello would not have done.
