In this video i'll show you how to repair a common failure in Volkswagen VW vehicles fitted with DSG gearbox (also Audi, Skoda and Seat). Error message is usually: "workshop only leave vehicle in P position". Hope it will be useful to fix your VW. Regards.

Hola ruben, oye tengo un seat leon mk3 con la dsg7 trae cubierta negra, sin embargo al momento de conectar el bypass, se bloquea la caja y marcar error en el tablero y no se mueve la palanca para nada, ya compre un segundo bypass y nada... Gracias de antemano. Saludos!!!!

Hola Ildefonso. ¿Tu León MK3 lleva la caja DSG 6+R ? La reparación la hice en un Golf GTE MK7 de 2015 con caja DSG 6+R. Si en el León llevas esa caja de cambios creo que la pieza te servirá. La referencia de la pieza aparece en el vídeo. Suerte y Saludos !

Hi !. To my experience with my Golf GTE 2015 DSG 6+R, it was only an annoying message. It didn't affect to driving neither safety. It was only an error message. Greetings !
I'm currently trying to do the same on my Octavia. The problem I'm getting is even after following the instructions and fitting the part I'm still getting the original error but also I'm not getting a gear box error and can't move the lever. I have to remove the new part and plug everything back in to be able to move the lever. I'm either doing something wrong, but can't figure out what, or the new part is faulty. Any ideas?

Hi Umid, i think yours it is not the same problem as mine was. May be Scirocco 2009 hasnt same gear box as Golf 2015. Plese, check the video just to verify the failure. Regards

Does removing the plastic panel + middle storage box require some specific twisting/pressing/turning to release them properly? I don't want to use Force and then break the fixing points or the plastics.

Hello, my passat b7 2011, DSG 4motion has a problem with, P - parking position , is not possible to change position on the gear to R , N , D , and the diagnostics writes this error. 01236 - Shift Selector Locking Solenoid (N110) . - Defekt . It's only emergency i can change position on gear with yellow "button". What do you think please? DSG works normally ... Thank you so much
Hi Matej Vyparina, the problem you are experiencing in your Passat seems different to the one i had in my Golf. So, i'm sorry, i have no qualified answer to help you to solve your problem. Good look, hope you solve it soon
I have this same issue come up once. But later came “error workshop! Reverse gear not available “ . I’m confused if it’s the micro switch issue or a bigger issue to mechatronics / transmission?
It's probably worth taping over the gap behind the gear stick so the screw or brackets don't fall in
For those who have the same issue - when I tested the switch by manually pushing it in the error didn't clear. However, one I drive the car it cleared after a few seconds and didn't come back on. Installation took about 15 mins - mainly the fiddly screw.

Hola Jean Pierre, no pasé el scanner por OBD para saber el código de falla. No sé qué código de falla se queda registrado. Lo que sí sé es que al instalar la pieza, el error del cuadro desapareció. Saludos

Hi. I think that it is not strictly necessary to fix this. This is an error message generated due to a microswitch failure so the car doesn't know in wich position the gear lever is. But it can not damage the gearbox, as it is only an error message. This message disturbs but it will not damage the gearbox itself

Hi, this may works. Mine is a Golf GTE with a 6+R DSG auto gearbox. If your A3 has a 6+R DSG auto gearbox it will work. Good luck
have assembled everything according to the video. but when i shift it just says. put the gear lever in the park position. I don't see that. N R D etc what's wrong?
Clear fault codes. Sometimes installing a repair kit will cause fault code U010300
Should this also work for a golf 7 gti with dsg? It sometimes its not ready to drive and I want to fix it

Ive had this message appear intermittantly for 3years (golf mk7), more recently ive had an issue one morning where ive had error gearbox, an hour later it worked, error was U010300 lost communication with gear shift module. Do you think this fix could fix all my problems?
Hi Mike. I don't know for sure if this fix will solve all of your gearbox problems, but at least will solve the one i solved. It was in a Golf mk7 GTE with a Dsg 6 + R gearbox. Good luck !
@@TheMarioruben thanks for reply, apparently the error code for this fault is in the steering wheel, so i had 2 issues. i got a used replacment gear shift module unit fitted yesterday, so far so good!

@@cristophercariola7312 Hi Cristopher. Mine was a Golf GTE 1.4 Hybrid from 2015 with a DSG 6+R gearbox. Don't know for sure if this spare part will fix your Passat problem. If it is from around 2015 and has a DSG 6+R may be okay. If it is DSG 7 may be not. Regards

Hi Mohammad. There were no symptoms, just a warning message on the dashboard. Doing like i show on the video the warning disapeared. I didn't check the OBD to see the DTCs, but i think the fault codes may be saved before the repairing.

Hallo Norbert. I don't understand German languaje. I wonder if you ask me if this repair will work on a Seat 2016 290 ps , isn't it? I check it and worked on a VW Golf GTE 204 ps 150 kW equipped with DSG 6 gearbox. Does your Seat have a DSG 6 ? If so, may be the same gearbox as mine since torque of both cars are around 400 Nm. So may be it fix the problem as well on you Seat. But i'm not 100% sure. Good lucky !

Eso la verdad que no lo sé. Tienes varias opciones. 1 dejarlo como está con el fallo. 2 poner el dispositivo, que es lo que hice yo. Es un dispositivo que se compra en la propia VW. 3 Llevar el vehículo a VW para que te lo reparen. Mucha suerte. Un saludo

Hi C. Daniel, maybe, but not completely sure. Which engine and DSG gearbox have your Polo ? (mine is a Golf GTE 1.4 hybrid petrol DSG 6 , year 2015)

Hola Cristhian, pues la verdad es que no sé decirte. El León Mk3 comparte muchos elementos de chasis y componentes con el Golf Mk7, que es en el que yo hice la reparación. Pero mi Golf tiene 6 marchas hacia adelante, y tu León 7, por lo que cabría la posibilidad de que la pieza fuera diferente. Yo que tú no me arriesgaría. Miraría a ver si hay algún vídeo para reparar ese fallo con caja DSG 7. Y si no lo hubiera, yo lo llevaría a la SEAT a reparar para evitar problemas. Mucha suerte y saludos.

@@CRISTHIANMOISESLARACHAVEZ Hola Cristhian hermano. El fallo es realmente provocado por el malfuncionamiento de un microinterruptor eléctrico. No es nada mecánico. La electrónica no detecta bien la posición de la palanca de cambios y por eso sale ese error. Pero la caja de cambios sigue haciendo sus cambios normalmente sin problema. Es decir, a la caja de cambios no le pasará nada por conducir con ese fallo. Lo que ocurre es que es un fallo molesto, pero no es peligroso. Saludos

How and when did the warning message dissapear. I changed my micro switch but the message is still popping up. And when I scan it there is no fault codes
Hi. The warning message dissapered just inmediatly after the microswitch was installed. Check cable connection and if the lever stick pushes the little microswitch button. Good luck
