    I never noticed the tinwork until you mentioned it. It's probably from a 17-, 18-, or 1955. I'm not very familiar with 2255's so I couldn't tell you much about the oil filters. I think it still has the 3-speed hydraul shift, since I can hear him shift up when he takes off the line.

  • @ChemMan88
    @ChemMan88 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not sure what he clutch or bell housing he used. I would guess he just bolted up a 2255 front frame to a 18- or 1950 rearend so he could save weight be not having planetary axles.

  • @478bo
    @478bo 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    do you know what he used for a bell housing? and a clutch? im assuming he didn put a 3 speed in here due to lack of room. i've also heard this guy has another one that he pulls in 5500?

  • @478bo
    @478bo 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    this front half of this tractor must be different? the tin seems to be offa 1855 or something an wheres the access holes in the frame for the oil filters? jw thats all it seems to be a pretty cool tractor . and do you know if this tractor has a 3 speed in it?

  • @ChemMan88

    I realize that sleds have speedometers. Maybe the fair board is set in its ways and wants to keep the rope. I can see where it has its benefits: the driver can see when he is going the speed limit and they can have pace classes with sleds that do not have speedometers.

  • @mauney97
    @mauney97 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pace class? You know they have speedometers for sleds now?

  • @ChemMan88
    @ChemMan88 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @ruhlahan I'm not sure, but I think it's a 1600 or 1650 frame and rear end in which he put the Cat engine into. That's the only way he would be able to get it light enough for the 6500 lb class. It looks like there's a homemade front end on it, plus the grille is either wood or fiberglass. If you would like more information about the owner, send me a message.

    Very nice! Great to see someone who can put the front end down instead of just jammin on the clutch like a hayseed.

    Very nice pull, Some damn good drivin at the end to. You got alot of power in that old M. Ive got 92 horse in my Super M and i think yours has more.

    @slackersteve2004 This tractor is far from a farm tractor. It has larger tires with lightweight wheels to reduce unnecessary weight. The engine is also modified to increase power, and it turns about twice as many rpm's as a farm tractor.

  • @slackersteve2004
    @slackersteve2004 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    thats awesome, is it used on a farm at all or just this? i just subbed

    @ChemMan88 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well it wasn't me pulling. He might have gotten 3rd or 4th. I was just recording the pull. I am not sure why he shifted ahead again. I am pretty sure that there's a 310 direct injection engine in that 88. He's probably running about 100 hp.

  • @Andyshemi
    @Andyshemi 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    How did you place? Why did you go back to the high side? were you afraid of having to much power and breaking traction right then? Tractor seems to have some balls!

  • @chucksoliver77
    @chucksoliver77 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    thats the original 77 engine taken to 265 cu. in.

  • @oliverpuller1655
    @oliverpuller1655 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    It was a sanctioned pull, so I'm guessing that it wouldn't pass tech inspection without cables on around the engine. Besides, they cable them in such a way that when they blow, the parts blow forward and not back in the driver's face. It was a Super Stock, three charger set up, to answer your other question.

  • @ChemMan88

    I have no "hard feelings" for IH tractors. I just thought I might try to run a little Shuck & Jive! I hope the driver\spectators are all ok. It must do a hell of a job on the wallet! Looks like some serious stuff to me! Take Care, John

    IH is a respectable tractor, made in Chicago for many many years. End of the day, the MOLINE MACHINE STILL PULLIN HARD! Good sized chunks flying off of that block...I hope no one got hurt.
