Henlo friend! We are Ruby and Loki and we both are Solomon Eclectus parrots.
Ruby, the red female parrot was hand-bred and hatched on 15.06.2018.
Loki, the green male parrot was also hand-bred, but by a different breeder and hatched on 16.06.2018.

How often do you shower your bird?
About 2 times a week, or depending whether they accidentally pooped on each other x)
@@rubyandlokieclectus9333My Rainbow Lorikeet liked to have a shower every day and he would stay in until the water ran cold. He prefers a bath these days, easier to clean his vent.

Should we be putting water on the head because I'm using this vid to help me bath my eclectus
Keep the showerhead further away and just let the water fall on them as if it was rainwater, they will move themselves in the correct positions :)! I only go a bit more close when washing under the wings. But I wouldnt directly shower on the head so water doesn't go directly in their eyes

They do not live as long as Amazons .

Eclectus have not lived domestically with humans as long as Amazons, and less has been known about the specialized diets and non- toxic environments that they require for good health and long life. So, we really don't know the limits of their life spans! Currently, best guesses are less years than Amazons, but 50 years at least possible with good genes and good, healthy conditions❤💙💚

Poor things wings have been butchered.
Indeed. Previous owners got the wings clipped by a very unprofessional vet that cut them off super short. The previous owner didnt want them anymore so we got them when they were 5 months old. They're now both 1 year and the wings are slowly growing out again :)

I wonder why clipping isn't illegal in your country. It is in mine. We are not even legally allowed to hand feed chicks...unless there is a medical reason. And getting a wild bird that needs help and put her in your home is an enormous no-no. Is there an anti-clipping lobby your country?
