FW 1994 which ended up in a clean sweep for the Gewiss team and the literally unbelievable result of 8 Italian riders within the first 10. Yes, we now all know that the EPO was coming out of their ears. Still, it's impressive to see what that stuff is capable of. Sorry for the annoying 90's tune. I was not able to remove it without erasing the commentary. Source original file: cyclingtorrents
Ferrari s engines
I LOVE THOSE 90's TUNES!!!!! NO APOLOGY NECESSARY.
3:58 "Groupe de Alcala" Notice that in this group there were Bugno and Chiappucci, but I think it was open war between Italy and other nations back then... 😉
Argentin príncipe delle Ardennen.
Jumbo-Visma ?!
Argentin, Furlan and Berzin. And dr Ferrari and dr Cecchini.
And Dr. Conconi
Epo racing¡¡Recuerdo esta carrera,saludos desde churriana,Málaga
Makes me think of Ineos this year.. going for 1-2-3 every race, it's only a matter of time until the truth comes out now Freeman's been popped
fucking music !
Get some orange juice ☢️
10 liters of the stuff
What a joke,Gewiss said we are so good because we use Campagnolo Shamal wheel's,😄no it's the EPO.
I have a set of Shamals that I got in close to NOS condition so hubs were fresh and I can tell you they are wicked fast even when the road goes upwards
Tyler Hamilton specifically mentions this race as a great example of the EPO Wild West days. This race turned into a three man team time trial. Gotta love the early EPO days.
The pre EPO test era was wild. Blood as thick as molasses!
it was after this win that armstrong became a ferrari client .. lol
Its not the EPO alone. The Shamal aero wheels which had been recently introduced and used by this team gave them a superior advantage over other teams. Campy always the best. 😉
Amazing deep wheels in alloy
They had enough EPO that day to power the complete 7 victorious Tour de France of Armstrong... (I mean his teamates and opponents included)
Nice racing there! So entertaining!
If team sky wants can do it now
nobody can use the high dosages of EPO like in the 90s
This was where the EPO was used?
first time cyclist wondered what this team used
And then some!
@@stjeannais Epo was used since 1989/1990 lol
Yup this is the race where EPO got leaked to the other racers by the teamdoctor and the cowboyyears started
I started to lose interest in pro cycling after this race. It was men playing with boys.
That was some strong as epo they had in those days hahaha
they were so full had they farted in the face of a kid he would have grown a beard in a week
Mdr toujours sympa de revoir ces images connues comme la premiere course EPO
Belle EPOque
Putting the drugs issue to one side for the moment. How cool did that look, all from the same team, old leather hair nets with caps underneath and them campagnolo shamal wheels........ WOW. I remember watching this live as a kids and just thinking it looked awesome.
completely agree, it looks awesome even now. Also Argentin had a beautiful riding style imho.
Read Spitting in the Soup by Mark Johnson Pg 189/190 commentary about this race. Absolutely wicked. When men were men and EPO men were gods of speed. LOL.
Love how Liggett just casually and slavishly prattles on about the palmares of these riders while all the time thinking ''You know this is a dope fraud..but hey I'm getting paid..better stick with the programme'' whenever I hear his voice now I immediately reach for the remote... lacky and tool for the doping culture that he was/is!
Argentin and Furlan seems very happy on the podium...
Fast as a FERRARI
i see what you did there and i approve
A leisurely ride for the EPO guys
Jet fuel and real men means EPO and test subjects, I suppose?
'94 Gewiss=Best team ever. Jet fuel and real men, epic pro cycling!
Dr Maserati did good that day.
