You're just spouting the council's propaganda. Cardiff is actually a corporate hell-hole, an environmental catastrophe, a filthy toxic dump and a hollowed-out social disaster destroyed by corrupt criminals.

A lot of people around there live in a myriad of satellite towns and villages that are all quite pleasant actually and also peaceful. MK is like the ugly 80s built central hub for shopping and restaurants and entertainment. I have a soft spot for it looking like some 80s sci-fi depiction of the future, like a Paul Verhoeven vision of the future from Starship Troopers or Robocop with all the grey marble and concrete. The centre feels a lot scummier now than it did in the 80s-early 2000s in my opinion. More scummy people and crime in general which is a shame but it still feels better than the likes of bigger cities like Birmingham, London, Leeds etc in my opinion. Everywhere has gotten worse in the last 15 years or so lets be honest.

Cardiff is a great city HOWEVER the council and government has absolutely destroyed the road system in the City Centre. Years ago it was a joy to drive around, now it is an utter nightmare. You would think the public transport would be great but most of it is so unreliable and doesn't fit most people needs (not the people who I have spoken to anyway). Redevelopment of parts of the city centre (ie around Central station / central square / St Davids2 shopping centre) is excellent. However Queen Street and the Capitol centre is looking very tired and just plain grim. For me parking in the centre car parks should be free - or under £5 a day and a complete overhaul of the transport system is drastically needed and that's even before the government's catastrophic decision not to build the proposed M4 relief road. If you want a great night out though Cardiff is one of the best places in the UK.

Like the city of London, diversity is ruining Cardiff,plus the 🤡's who now protest against Israel regularly on weekends,yep it's shite hole now and getting worse.

Cardiff is essentially the last breath of Wales, sadly, without any industry and the government making sure the only viable businesses are takeaways and established cooperation's that the government hold shares in, the future of the Wales and the UK as a whole is the rich getting richer of the back of the people that are merely trying to exist. Wage slaves living in squalor is what 80% Wales is. Also importing millions of migrants that receive benefits far greater than that of a native, in addition to the ridiculous spending by the government, on projects only designed to increase the amount of tax they can pull from the residence. 20MPH? £18 for 20 cigs? Sugar tax? VAT? Income tax? Insurances? Business rates... different for migrants btw.. it's all just a big ol' joke.

I see you visited in the pouring rain. This tends to cause the skiprats and skangers to retreat to their burrows. Try it sometime when it's not raining. (Granted, this can be difficult)

Possibly the most superficial and lazy video about Milton Keynes yet - if you visit to make a negative video about somewhere with 800-ish subs then quite honestly don’t bother. Moved to an adjacent village 23 years ago having lived in both London and Birmingham and while MK isn’t your average city it is definitely a great deal more pleasant and less decrepit than most of the UK after the last 20 years!

I don't live in MK but I like to shop there. The original part of the shopping centre is IMO a great design; simple in construction but airy and pleasant to be in. Also, the outside glass cladding is wearing well unlike most of the materials used on modern buildings which just seem to tarnish and weather badly, the Theatre District being an obvious example. I also like Station Square which is a similar design. However, I have recently become aware that many buildings around the centre are either empty, derelict or have been demolished. There is still a lot of new build going on, but is that only going to last a mere 50 years or even less? It would seem that the experiment is still on-going.

Those paths are called redways and are super convenient for bikes and scooters you can pretty much get anywhere in MK via them

It certainly is a strange town compared to most of the UK. Reminds me of DC: lots of offices, but not many people on the streets where those offices are.

Good video. I lived in MK for 6 years. I enjoyed my time there, but you are right to describe it as artificial (the football club being an example of this). Functional is another word I would use. Fine if you live there for a few years for work as you progress in your career or whatever, but something about MK makes it hard for new residents to adopt any loyalty or sense of pride in the place. It's like a motorway service station of a town - convenient at a certain point in your life, but when you leave the overriding emotion is 'meh'. My other main takeaway from MK is how different its suburbs or 'estates' are. There can't be many places in the UK outside of London where the gulf between the affluent and downtrodden areas is so stark. The centre of MK has also become horribly grim IMO. Grey, soulless, and yes, the high street is a big grey building.
