It is a worthy cause worth whatever cost. So, Jesus calls us to come to him, take up our own crosses, and follow him. Our continuing study of Mark will show us what that looks like. List...

Friends tell each other the truth when they're not being good. God, we gotta have a talk. You can't just go and commit genocide over and over again and destroy the entire world just because you feel like it. We are humans that have individual worth and dignity. Our dignity is not defined by whether or not someone agrees that what you did to Job was actually righteous. We don't deserve hell by default. And can you think about curing some more childhood cancer cases, like as in all of them, since you have infinite power and whatnot? Yeah? Please don't kill me.
Hello @Volleyball_Chess_and_Geoguessr , My name is Janet and I am the Digital Media Specialist here at Valley Community Baptist Church. Thank you for sharing your concerns about the Christian faith and the goodness of God. Your questions are ones that most of us have when learning about God: "Why do bad things happen to good people?" and "Why does God allow bad things to happen?" Thankfully, the Bible provides us with consolation in the fact that God does not do these evil things, or cause people to do evil things (James 1:13), God hates the evil acts that people do, like genocide and destruction (Proverbs 6:16-19) and God does not want people to do these evil things, but instead to live as Jesus did (Galatians 5:16-26). At Valley, we have a few pastors who would be happy to talk with you about these topics. We also have more sermons if you are interested in learning about our beliefs regarding the answers to your questions. I'll link some of those below. I remember Pastor Jay doing a series on Job as well, so I will circle back if I find any of those sermons in our archive. Email office@valleycommunity.cc to connect with a pastor. remember though Jesus rebuked people.. it's not true to say he remained silent.. that's what you THINK he did.. he even said "if a man sins against you and he does not repent.. REBUKE him".. and to rebuke someone is not some gentle soft statement, it's a hard emotionally charged reprimand and the new testament gave us procedures to use to speak to those who are out of order in the church etc, to speak to them in person first and then if they don't stop the bad we speak to them in the church in front of the congregation it's not true to say Jesus often remained silent if he did not approve of things people did or said.. he spoke out and rebuked and instructed on the correct way many times
Hello @PotentialTechniques, thank you for your thoughtful comment. Here is a reply from the pastor who wrote the script for this video: "That is certainly a good point. I think it is true that He did both of those things. We do need to take into consideration who we are speaking with, and in what context. In the message, I was primarily thinking of the church’s communication with a culture that is far from God, and with people who may be offended by the very nature of our faith. Peter advocates for speaking the truth with respect and gentleness, and that is still a rebuke to a non-believing person. So, I would have to respectfully disagree with you that a rebuke is a hard, emotionally charged act. I believe in a gentle, understanding demeanor that requires wisdom and practice; I am not advocating for backing away from the truth. I believe that followers of Jesus can waste a lot of opportunities debating things that don’t get people closer to the cross, even though we might be stating something that is true. I think it is better to stay silent when those conversations won’t get people closer to the cross, especially on social media. I appreciate the feedback, and I’m sure that I could have been clearer in my communication. Thank you!" If you would like to have a deeper conversation about this topic, please visit our website to contact one of our pastors!
I have lived with Him. Many Days. And indeed He does live with me. Thank you Pastor Jay.
Highly recommended, a must see.❤
Are you able to show me a biblical/scriptural easter celebration?
Most Christians ignore the biblical pattern of holy days observed by Jesus and his Apostles that do not include Christmas and Easter. Christmas and its traditions are a distraction that hides the real reason for Christ's first coming. Shopping, Santa, mistletoe, etc. do not reveal the truth of Christ's mission. Satan infiltrates Christianity in many ways. One of the biggest is Christmas. Christmas is unbiblical. The Lord has never, nowhere, zero commanded his elect to celebrate Christmas. Not once but for the birth of Christ, has there ever been a celebration of his birth. Regardless of fond memories or whether "everyone does it," a true Christian will reject Christmas, not only because of the commercialism, the pagan influence, and the impossibility of Jesus being born mid-winter but more fundamentally because Christ refuses to have any part with idolatry 2 Corinthians 6:15-16. Christ was never part of Christmas and will not be "put back" in Christmas. Many Christians dismiss the commercialism, the pagan influence, and the impossibility of a December 25 birth, and take comfort in slogans such as “Put Christ back in Christmas.” But how many professing Christians would feel comfortable celebrating Christmas if they understood that you cannot “put Christ back in Christmas” because Christmas is Satanic? This is no new understanding and the churches of the world hide or ignore this truth. God commands us to reject heathen ways (Jeremiah 10:2 reveals that pagan celebrations and Satanic “holidays” are abominations to Him Jeremiah 10:3-4; Ezekiel 8:13-14 and tells us not to change the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles 2 Thessalonians 2:15. Understanding this truth, a true Christian will not even consider celebrating Christmas, realizing that these winter solstice celebrations are indeed Satan’s celebrations.
Please Help me I Believe Jesus Is The Son of God and God The Son of The Holy Trinity I Believe Jesus Shed His Blood and Died in my place to Pay for All my Sins He was Buried Then 3 Days Later Jesus Arose From The Dead!!!! But I am struggling with some Sins that I honestly don’t know how to quit I hate my Sins But I genuinely don’t know how to stop them Am I still Saved because of my faith in Jesus or am I Not Saved because of my Sins? Thank you for All your Help and Time God Bless you
Hello Monica, Thank you for your question. Paul writes in the book of Romans, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 The Bible teaches us that even though we will always be living in sin, we no longer have to pay the penalty for our sin, because Jesus paved the way for our salvation. All that we need to do to receive this gift is admit our sin, believe that He is the only way we can be redeemed from that sin, and choose to follow Him. If you would like to talk more about your personal struggle with sin and steps you can take towards following Jesus Christ, I invite you to visit our website and reach out to one of our pastors.
Can't wait to see it!!
People cannot base God's salvation on a couple of scriptures. We have to read the whole bible. No one can offer anyone salvation in 5 minutes. True repentance and obedience are required by God for Salvation. One must become a devoted student of God's word in the bible to know who he is and what he requires of us. One must be born again. People can't just say, "I believe in Jesus" and be saved on the spot. We have to repent from the heart and hope that God will accept us. Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him." There is a great deal of arrogance when human beings believe that they can command God to show up and save them on the day and time of their choosing. This is highly disrespectful. God calls whoever he chooses on his own timing. Scripture says: "The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” We answer to God. He doesn't answer to us. Receiving salvation is not like going through the drive-thru at McDonald's. There are requirements that God expects of us. Jesus said that not all Christians will be saved: “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14) Jesus also said that all lukewarm Christians will be spit out. I'm sure that many of them felt false security because they said the Salvation Prayer & their preacher assured them they were saved. When people reject God's word, he will reject them.
Dearly miss Pastor Jay and his preaching! It’s a blessing to be able to watch his recorded sermons.
Thanks Zack for your testimony. Really resonates with my son.
Thank you I have always been curious to learn about the prophet whom I was named after. I can read the Bible and not understand anything I’ve read. This was good.

Mormons believe in eternal matter
A great rendition. God bless all.
Hello Nobody in scripture goes around preaching “God became a human” That’s just not found Jesus is the Messiah The Son of God The Son of David The Son of man The man God has chosen to be his anointed king The man God will judge the world through The man God raised from the dead Jesus will return and rule the nations with believers in the kingdom of God on the earth Jesus has a God There is no triune god in scripture Jesus said the Father is the only true God! John 17 3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. - Acts 3 13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him. 14 But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you, 15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. Notice Jesus is NOT the God of Abraham
❤️
AMEN!
That was so beautiful ❤️
You can be LGBT and Christian no problem 👬
I would encourage you to listen carefully to the message again and hear what the Word of God says about this subject. It was explained in the message exactly what God says about it. There is no greater authority on this subject than God Himself, because He created us for His purpose. We did not create ourselves. He is the one we all must answer to. Each of us will answer for all we do while on this earth. It is better to resign ourselves to His design and will now, rather than to be in the path of His wrath later.
@@bdpsobota no one will be justified before God by the law.
@@dansaber4427 You are most certainly right about that! The law was put in place to point out man’s sin and need for a Savior, a Redeemer. When Jesus came, he came to live a lawful, sinless, holy life, and by doing so he showed us and taught us how to live in a way that would please God. Then he died a horrific death… a death that took our sin away by paying our debt to God for sinning against Him. How did he do this? He was appointed by God to die once for all our sin because he succeeded in living a sinless life while on earth. His sinless life was offered as a ransom for all who believe in him, so that being raised from the dead, all who believe in Jesus may be freed from the power of sin in their lives! You see, Jesus is the representation of a Holy and loving God who requires us to be holy as He is Holy. Jesus showed us that in how he lived his life, and Jesus’ death and resurrection frees those who believe in him to follow him in living holy as He is Holy. Jesus/God and sin can not abide together. And because of this fact, followers of Jesus cannot abide in sinful practices or lifestyles. Does this mean that Christians will never sin? No it does not, however, confession and repentance is available for the believer. But unconfronted continual sin and justification cannot coexist. One must turn away from sin, repent, and follow Christ. Sometimes this means “taking up our cross” (as the Bible puts it), and following Christ.
@@bdpsobota Jesus Will judge you by the measure you choose. I don't know why you'd want to be judged by a measure you keep stumbling over. You're in bondage to the law doing dead works.
If Jesus is your Lord then you follow him. If you're following another spirit then Jesus is not your Lord.
