Sorry, I do not own the GA3 anymore… For the organ sounds I switched to „US Traditional“, which is a sampled Lowrey organ. Using a theater tremolo. And I added some „orchestral“ strings with sustain from the right side buttons in the 2nd part of the song.

Thank you. I heard so many positive talk about the GA3, but when I finally owned one I was not fully satisfied. It tries too much - 5 different Leslies/Tremolos, but not a single good one for example. The XE is quite similar orchestral sound wise, but better organ sound wise. Also much more accordion sounds. And biggest plus of the XE: there is no split for the lower keyboard on the GA3! However: Theatre organ sounds on the XE are quite poor… You could also think about a Roland AT or some Orla GT.

@@auronoxe Thanks for sharing your experience. I have also the Orla GT8000 the flute sound is particular, definitely not like an Hammond , maybe more similar to Wersi and it does have very good Theater organs voices. Plus Lower manual split. About Roland AT, I wish to find one but practically impossible to find in my country (Italy)-here the organ market has dead at the end of 80s. I also own some Yamaha: HS-8, HX-1, EL-90 and a Stagea DDK-7 all of these are superb, but they needs to be programmed for playing. I also have Technics sx-G6 and C700 plus an SM-AC80 that is a GX7 into a briefcase! Two great Elka (x1000 and X30) and a vintage Solton P600C closing my collection (for now). Finding a GA3 is quite hard here (till now never found one) while I saw on some marketplaces two XE-1 and I regret I left they go. About Technics I have also a KN7000 the last professional keyboard they made, it does have digital drawbars divided in some categories, also Theater tabs and it sounds really great, probably much better than a GA3 , they sould have updated the DSP , so also the rotary sim.

@@musk771 That‘s quite a selection of premium organs you own. Congratulations. My space is limited, 4 is my maximum at the moment 😉 I bought my At500 on ebay in London! But I had the luck to organize a cheap transport to Germany.

@@auronoxe As you say, UK seems to be the real paradise for who is looking an organ, you can still find anything there and for cheap, sometime for free. The problem is, most of people who sell, just refuse to ship abroad , to avoid problems, also when you are well happy to pay for delivery. You were lucky with the Atelier! .

Thank you. Have fun with your „new“ Hammond. Oh, that‘s interesting! Hmmmm, maybe you can help me? So far non of the two or three specialists I know could help me. My Aurora has a Sustain issue. When I switch on the Strings with the buttons on the right, the sustain is suddenly much shorter than before with drawbars only, and does hardly work on some keys. Strangely however, when sustain and strings are activated by the Preset pistons, eg 1+2, sustain works fine with drawbars AND strings. I have explained that in detail on the organforum . com blog under the post „Sustain Issue on Aurora Classic“. Also there, no one had any proposal where to start… If have the schematics by the way. I think, maybe it is related to the fact, that the strings activate the slow attack when switched on manually, but not when switched on by the presets?

Hi, that does seem a strange fault you have. Sadly I no longer have the circuit diagram for the Aurora. I’m sure it is fixable though. It could well be that you just have a dirty edge connector or two. I need the circuit diagram really if I am to be much help.

Well, I live with that small problem since I bought the organ about 15 years ago. ;-)

Sure, there were many other organs. The previous series was called Viscount Intercontinental Mxx. I know at least M30, M50, M70. The Cabaret‘s series was called like Musicals/Movies. There is a Fair Lady, Oklahoma, Odeon, Tiffany, Bahia, … Later they produced digital home & church organs. And today still Hammond clones and church organs.

Die Roland hat sicher im Durchschnitt die besten Orchesterklänge, und vor allem den besten "Raumklang" bzw. Transparenz. Der Vorteil der Hammond XE2 ist manchmal, dass man die Klänge anpassen kann (wie bei der Technics GA3). Zum Beispiel klingt die Trompete bei "Comment te dire adieu" so schön weich... weil ich das für das Lied so einstellen konnte. Und das Cello und das Hornensemble der XE2 liebe ich. Das nächste Lied wird ein "richtiges" Hammond-Stück... da glänzt die XE2 dann so richtig ;-)

Thanks for your nice comment. Yes, those instruments are quite similar. Seems, there are more organ players out there with "organ aquisition syndrome" 🙂 No wonder, since today one can get the "organ of your teenage dream" almost for free.

Indeed, the video about the piano sounds is already finished 😉 Probably the June video… Yes, I know that keyboard. There is also a portable organ version, with build in mixer for external instruments.

@@auronoxe There is also with MEG synthesis the last instruments made by Hohner in France, the µStudio 30 and the compagnon HK5000, but those instruments seems to be very rare, maybe i should send a mail to the hohner manufacturing plant in semur-en-auxois. (yes it still alive)

Yes ! A total of 32 + 24 presets, and 48 rythms for the "arrangeur" don't know why it's written in french on those models@@auronoxe

I don‘t know that specific organ. But usually you must remove the back cover. Then from behind on top there should be screws to remove the top cover. Sometimes you can then just lift it up, or slide it back/forward and then up. After that usually below the keyboards (look from below the organ) there should be 4-6 long screws to loosen both keyboards, so you can swing them up. Sometimes there are screws inside, that fix the keyboard to the side panel of the organ in addition.

Nice question😁 anything is possible with drawbars… I would use something like 000307446 … gives some bright, harsh sound… but the percussion effect is not available in that case 🤷🏻‍♂️

That is an interesting question, which I asked myself multiple times! It would be very hard to get rid of the Aurora, since it has a great Hammond sound, a real Leslie and is almost repairable for ever. But quite heavy. The Roland is most perfect and has overall the best orchestral voices. The XE has the best Hammond sound, a lot of sound editing flexibility and some really nice styles. So, I can not decide between these 3. Depends on the song to play. The little Hohner is nowhere the best, so I would not select it.

Dankeschön. Die Roland ist natürlich top.Die XE2 mag ich besonders beim Orgelsound. Vielleicht mach ich da auch noch einen Vergleich.
