I left 1973…oh dear it was a fine town back then. It had its rougher bits but not like this.

I lived on the Johnson Fold estate in the early 90's for a couple of years. It was a bit scruffy and run down. I went back up there a few months ago to show my teenage kids where i used to live. It was an utter shithole. It looked like the zombie apocalypse.

I could show you the s^*T hole side of every town / city in England.Scotland and Wales and make a disrespectful video to upload to u tube if that's your thing. Bolton is no worse nor better than most other North West towns of England. It is, unfortunately, the society of our current climate in which we all live in today that depict the way most towns and city's have declined to such a state that those who were born and bread there do not recognise their own towns which they once loved. Sad state of affairs if you ask me but....that's Britain today ....unfortunately

I don't know what's worse, seeing the highlights of Bolton with the likes of the balmoral pub where it was a pound a pint, the rocket that had a stainless steel corner for the opposing darts team, it was an easy wash down corner, or that's what was said about it anyway. Do I like Bolton? Guess I do seeing as I can name 99% of the locations shown. Years in the future I'll show it to the kids and describe what it was like....

Breightmet and Tonge are both shit, the only alright bits of Bolton are Great Lever and Astley Bridge. TBH though I try to avoid going down Chorley new road, think I would rather just stay in middle class Horwich.
