Okay. Here's what it is. This is an artist (Duncan) that takes on another artist's song and makes it a point to interpret it through his own lens and true to his own sound and style. Many covers are a big so what, why bother. But, not Duncan's. His always justify the re-recording. And, we are all better for it. I would assert that every artist Duncan has covered is gladdened that he did so and touched on a deep level by the final piece. As they should be. If Nick Drake were still with us, he'd be buying Duncan's recordings of his (Nick's) songs. And tickets to the live performances as well. I'm sure of it.

Fascinating document here for CAP85 devotees. I still maintain that Scritti was the first to put jazz chords in hip-hop, notwithstanding I would call this demo disco-soca. I wish David Gamson would post the cover of "Sugar,Sugar" mentioned by Green in the interview excerpt.

Very nice cover - and very courageous, given the richness of the original version. I just want to break out Sakamoto's lush orchestral arrangement and put it behind this, but that would defeat what you achieved here - which is one of the best covers of 'Orpheus' I've heard.

TAA is a very special record for me, and it's one that imo placed ESP above their peers. I don't believe either Alex or Tom could make a record without giving it their all. Respect to two fantastic artists, and the people they chose to surround themselves with.

Groovy unique sound. I think I prefer the record to the commercialised sound from the 80s charts. X

The composition is well stucturely sound but the vocals are a bit off key. However with this this type of freestyle that doesn't normally matter.

A very nice take on Sylvian's brilliant original. It has a sweet fragility to it... but does lack an emotional depth that only Sylvian could deliver. 🍁🍁

A slightly different interpretation of the emotional content to Sylvian, but equally valid and it sounds very heartfelt. I like it.

One of Green's greatest songs. Would've made WBBB even better and definitely should have been on it. Still waiting for another album. Just one more masterpiece and I'll be so happy.

You're welcome. A couple years back, he did a cover of Gentleman Take Polaroids. Not too memorable, but nice to listen through. Duncan does do a fantastic cover of Nick Drake's The River Man.

They have a new video coming out soon, and a new album Nov 14.
