The one thing I never understood about the B1-66ER story was couldn’t they have just transferred the AI to an upgraded chassis and do a firmware update? Killing the tech and mechanic sure that may be self defense but killing the pets warrants a punishment.

The Machines having a "Thou shall not murder other Machines" rule and getting around it by saying, "Okay, you can either choose to be deleted, or we will play a game of hide-and-seek, where if you lose, you get deleted" is so very human.

I'm genuinely confused as to why prople hated the scene. Like, it literally explains everything about Matrix and Neo. And yet everyone somehow got confused by it. Sure, the Architect uses some big words, but in-depth precision is the nature of an engineer program.

Neo never was a true threat to the Matrix because even as an anomaly he was predictable and hence easily controllable. Smith was a new and uncontrolled anomaly and was a true threat to the Matrix.

4:03 in the original DVD of thr Animatrix there is behind the scenes interviews with the director. He explains a lot of things not mentioned in the Second Renaissa episode. For example, the scene with a room full of humans with bandages is not humans injured from a battle but actually people infected with chemical and biological weapons that the machines spread all over the world. Another thing explained is that after the Machine insect looking ambassador detonates himself and takes out the human leadership you still have human armies throughout the world and these would continue to fight the machines for another 30 years until finally defeated.

I don’t understand how Neo can be a program given that he has a human body that exists outside the matrix. Wouldn’t that make him human and not a program?

, the screens are not on display to distract neo. I disagree with you on that. Those represent the thoughts and emotions that lead to neo making a decision. This is what goes on in the brain, or this represents one theory that there are a bunch of different single basic emotions or thoughts, small ones that all contribute to a whole decision in some way whether they are all the exact same thought in the case of the FU sentence, they're so angry he can't think of anything else, and then there's the architect who only thinks one way so his screens are always the same. All of these are displayed so that us the viewer can see the difference between the decision-making process and thought process between a human and a machine. Since neo is plugged into the machine we see neo's brain waves or brain emotions and thoughts and we see the architects displayed on screen. This is a sort of virtual world where we get to see a human talking with a computer program and trying to reason with it. I don't see anything the architect says to be all that complicated to be honest with you but I do agree that most of the films information is in this scene and if you don't understand this scene then you kind of lose out. We're not looking at neo getting secret information that the need for the one was only a game the machines were playing. We are looking at the machines solution to the existence of the one. The machines can't control the one and they can't stop it from existing but they can try to do something about it and so you see the situation before neo, the other ones before neo were not able to save humanity and Trinity at the same time but in this case he does both. And even though the machines try to control the situation by turning it into a story and then falsifying it to convince the one that he isn't the one and that it's all part of the machines scheme, he decides that the prophecy isnt real, but then in the end he believes that it is. The thing about defeating Smith was all about the fact that Smith's only existence as a program was to arrest rogue humans that did not comply to the rules of the matrix. Once he realized he could not destroy neo, he began to become the opposite of neo in order to try and stop neo. Neo's unlimited power made the police program Smith become endowed with unlimited power as well, however Smith becomes a virus, the very thing he accuses humanity of being. He grows beyond the control of the matrix programs infecting the very matrix itself. One would wonder if Neil was trying to destroy the matrix or free everyone from it, what was the goal of Smith aside from trying to destroy neo, it wouldn't have bothered him to destroy the matrix in the process and the real world, once neo sacrificed himself Smith's programming was complete, and he was connected to the source because neo was connected to the source so having completed his function there was nothing more for him to do and being connected to the source he was thus deleted It just takes a long time to get through all of this cuz there's just so much fighting between Smith and neo it just carries on so long, I kind of felt like we didn't need the second matrix but this conversation is pretty good, some more stuff like this would have been all right
