No mention of Arcadia or the ghosts who stole Christmas? I loved those episodes.

Season 9 is my leave favorite of the series. Even though 10/11 fail in many ways I much prefer them Over 9. It’s not that I hate the Doggett/Reyes dynamic or the fact that Scully can play both roles of skeptic and believer throughout the season, it’s the fact that they made Mulder more of mythic hero throughout the season the mythology around Scully’s child and the super soldiers is utterly frustrating. Season 9 could have removed Mulder and Scully and William, placing them on the run and I think I may have enjoyed it better. It would have been fresh like season 8 was with the introduction of Doggett….

I've always thought 5 and 4 were the best, but I really liked the recent season. Strongly agree the lizard man episode is the funniest ever. I watch that one stand alone when I'm depressed and it always makes me laugh.

very nice video! For me Mulder/Scully dynamics meant less in the course of the show as I was looking for the better mystery, so my list goes like: 11. Season X - completely agree with your comments; 10. Season XI - same 09. Season VII - never really a fan of lighter episodes, although X-Cops rules. Requem was also great 08. Season VI - same justification, lighter tone. Monday, Drive and Fieldtrip take the cake. With time I started appreciating it more 07. Season V - this is where the lighter more philosophical turn takes place for me, as I am a dark sci-fi guy. Like S6 started appreciating it more with time though. Bad Blood is the best funny ep. 06. Season IX - I am a minority to put it so high I know, but with few exceptions (Lord of the flies, the truth) I like it all. 05. Season I - It is uneven - Great start, then some lame episodes, the picking up again, then some repetitive episodes. 04. Season II - as you mentioned, they learned from S1 mistakes and made it even in quality 03. Season III - very even great season with the comedy parts are tolerable. The crew find the right "tempo" here. 2Shy is underrated. 02. Season IV - completely agree with your comment. Synchrony is my favorite episode ever (a little subjective since I am a "time-travel" fan) 01. Season VIII - love this going back to darker tone thing, while changing the dynamics and atmosphere to make it more "grounded" through Doggett's perspective. Roadrunners is one of the best episodes and the finale was the best one

Not gonna lie. The pilot trailer did not fit the tone at all. Felt like the worst parts of Walking Dead. Still would like another adaptation though.

I would definitely agree with having season 8 higher on the list. For me it was definitely the freshest The X Files had felt in a bit especially since season 7 felt very stale

Man I wish The Invisibles got more mainstream attention, they were going to make a TV-show but it never got off the ground. Pisses me off that the Wachowskis are regarded as these amazing original movie makers when the only movies they make that are any good are adaptations, and I do consider The Matrix a loose adaptation mostly because the Wachowskis never admitted to stealing from Morrison, which they do alot in The Matrix. Still an amazing movie but if you read the comic you'll see how much they actually stole.

Favorite thing about season 8 was Robert Patrick as John Doggett saying men made of metal sounds like something out of a movie

Yes season 4 is the best of any series ever. Home was sick. Easily in my opinion, the greatest single episode of any Network Television series ever. Loved that show.😎😎😎

Season 8 was absolute garbage

I always said it’s too bad the sow just never cut ties with Scully and Mulder. It was time and the new leads of Dogget and Reyes would have worked if given a long enough chance to develop. Let Fox and Scully do their movies and the new cast just build a new story and lore of its own. Still feels like a missed opportunity!

Yes! I've always loved Season 4 the most. I had the series on video as a child and it's definitely the one i've re-watched the most. Unruhe is my favourite x-files episode of all time. I was an X files kid, I grew up with it, Scully was my idol.

I believe the terminator is considered as a sci fi horror by it's soundtracks, the tone through the film, where there was a scene he ripped a heart out from a punk before taking the others clothes, the fact that it's a single pursuer with his own theme tune chasing a woman, it's mainly set at night all these is a horror related elements apart from that the film was even the only one that was rated 18 when it first came out if these ain't horror to you then tell me what is

In my opinion, HPL is more to be pitied than condemned for his racism/xenophobia. He was the son of parents who both died in Butler Hospital, a Providence, RI hospital for the insane. One concept that appears in his writings is an obsession with madness; in some cases, the fear that insanity passes from one generation to the next or through racial inbreeding. It's quite possible that his mental state was genetically compromised; we shouldn't rule it out as a mitigating factor in the formation of his prejudices.

I read that Tarkovsky and a few others who worked on the film died of cancer related to the toxic environment in which the film Stalker was filmed - it was the *SAME TYPE* of cancer. This isn’t necessarily fact, but it is a suspicion that is pretty frequently repeated by numerous sources. So, it’s bleak in reality as well as in fiction.

I just rewatched it today and it is much better than its reputation and I really loved it. I actually liked the acting and the effects look better than in newer Marvel movies. OK, CGI creatures simply always look like CGI, have something artifical about them and perfection is rarely achieved… but to my eyes there was nothing awful and nothing that took me out of the movie. The characters were well developed and the story fine. It‘s not a totally original story but fairly standard… but I really, really loved it. I thought the mix of likable characters, eye-candy, drama, action, sci-fi, and horror could easily gone wrong, but it always stayed on the good side.

Have to disagree with A.D. Hollywood. It was one of the most fun episodes.

Tbh i went in this movie blind folded and holy sh*t i wasnt expecting it to be that brutal and psychological i love horror films and o wasn't expecting alot out of the movie and jesus but about the question im in the middle of it i like how that the movie is trying to say its story but again i wasn't expecting to be brutal

This show could have been amazing! Why do they cancel everything I love?

For me, the show peaked in season 3, but had great quality during the second to fifth season. I see some people praise the sixth season as one of the best, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. 1 - Season 3 2 - Season 5 3 - Season 4 4 - Season 2 5 - Season 1 6 - Season 6 7 - Season 8 8 - Season 7 9 - Season 9 10 - Season 11 11 - Season 10

after last years Tencent adaptation of The Three Body Problem I really hope maybe Tencent will pick it up in the future. we can only hope

I think "Followers" wasn't that bad actually. What i hated in the 10th/11th season was that forced "messaging" that is kinda common today, but with the X Files it barely works except for a few cases. In that episode, but also in "Familiar", i get these "Boomer parents tell you how everything has become worse than it ever was because they read it on the internet" kinda vibes. Like i said, social commentary was never an X File strongpoint

Beyond the Sea is a fantastic episode. I mean, *is it possible* for Brad Dourif to give anything other than a flawless performance?

Seeing season 8 higher than most isn’t a great shock… but seeing it above season 2 is jarring for me personally. It’s not that Doggett is bad.. it’s that Mulder is the beating heart of the X-files. I know Scully is great, a vital character and counterpoint- but Mulder is the one, for me personally.

First time seeing any of your vids, really enjoyed this one. I can appreciate the way you ranked things, I'd bump season 1 a spot or two higher, personally, but it does have some downsides. I thought the show really hit its stride in season 2, then hit a "golden age" in seasons 3, 4 and 5. Afterwards they get subsequently worse, though still always some good episodes through the end.

It's so childish to dive into deep waters over a simple TV series, and don't get me wrong - every single episode has its charm, and has meant so much to me over the years. But dissecting all the episodes does no one any good. We all have our favorites, which is why these types of videos are useless. If people could understand that it is about a TV series and not a life's work of opus driven opinions we would land more right. Mulder and Scully deserve their place in the top ten, if not even a number one. But after all, basically it's a commercial series that Fox made a lot of money from. The mythology of the X-files is a completely different matter, and it is precisely this aspect that I miss in such videos.

Please, get a life - it's flat out end when you name what you like and don't. For gods sake, it's a tv-serie!!!!!!!

I am not a fan of the Stalker movie. I can see why people like it, and I don't think it's a bad movie.. Just too boring for my taste even with all the tension and creepy atmosphere.

Season 13 has begun and I have seen the big guy riding a sea horse in the sky and you to will see our creator..
