Cummins Swapped Cateye Chevy. How to/How I did it. EP:1
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the first video in a multi part series I’m making on my 12valve Cummins swapped 2004 Chevy. Subscribe and tap the bell I should be post at least 1 video a week hopefully 2!
this is awesome wish you had filmed the whole process
How much does it cost to have it done to my 2007?
Great video!
How did you hook the Cummins power steering pump to the Chevy hydro boost set up?
All the fittings are the same threads because the dodge hydro boost is nearly identical. It was a simple as tightening down the lines
That shifter is awesome
The duramax is a fine motor, why swap? My buddy’s making 800whp, and hes at like 350k miles? Id take that 800 number with a grain a salt though cause he def likes to brag.
This had a 6.0 gas
@@12valveturbo 6.0s are crazy
Solid axle and cummins swapped, bad ass
Working on an Escalade interior swap on mine, surprising how much extra felt and foam sound deadening they got.
Dual exhaust on a motor with a single bank is always weird to me
Hey man I'm planning on doing something very similar, I wanna swap a dana 60 and a 12v cummins in a sierra 3500 2005 (not dually). Would you mind sendings me pictures of how you arranged the drive train for 4 wheel drive? Pictures of the underside would be very helpfull ! Awesome build btw
12 valve is perfect no complans here. Im thinking about the same thing
Dude! So cool. Seeing your face light up 1:12 so cool. Happy for you. Grubby fingers, a whistlin turbo, and a big ole grin!
Bad ass!!!! This is exactly what I want to do to my Chevy express van. Try to use everything you did but for my application and make it work so it doesn’t have to be so expensive.
Wandering what happened to your swap. No videos in a year
Update?
Please make TH-cam video about the process!
I love it
Are you planning on making any videos on your ratrod? Im curious what that build is all about too.
This is awesome dude. Nothing but smiles per gallon. I hope to one day do something similar. You should be proud 💪 -A Ford Guy
What a nasty beast. Good for you man! And this is coming from a ford guy.
I love the Cummins mirrors on it they bad ass
Getting it done get it driving than clean it up nice
It's funny that we are often our biggest critic. Looks good man, any updates?
Wanna sell the 4l80e adapter plate? Seen you got a nv4500
Make a video on ignition wiring?
Bad ass!!!
The mirrors. On a duramax
Who made the motor mounts

I'm not gonna go trashing the truck man I've been wanting to cummins or dmax swap my 6.0 as well. I also can't tell if I like the cummins mirrors or not
Truck looks way different now lol. And I like the Cummins mirrors but wanted lights so I went back to Chevy. But I’ve found some 4th gen aftermarket’s with lights I’m probably going to buy
great video
Was that a stock tailpipe I seen in the back too? Lmao cool build it is unique.
Well why the hell would you put a Cummins in that
On your coil buckets, is it just the 4 holes welded up to the frame plates or did you get behind the coil buckets on the frame plates and weld them up?
They’re welded all the way around the outside, I wouldn’t trust just those 4 holes. Those were just factory rivet holes I filled in
Do you think that is strong enough with some pretty decent welds all the way around should it hold under stress ?
Pitman arm part number?
Hey u got ig or snap or something I got a few questions Imma do one here soon
We shouldn’t have been doing this GM should of made them like from factory prob to you tho
Watch an see o got one coming together
Awesome! I’d love to see it
Dude what you did I'd amazing keep making videos and building your truck I can see how proud you are man it makes me glad to watch😂
Thank you I really appreciate that! I hope to start posting more videos soon it’s just hard to decide what to record lol
@@12valverecord everything haha people like me just wanna see how you did this. Even if it's just you describing what you did over the finished product
So badass I found you on TikTok first and was hoping you had a TH-cam . Your making me want to do all this to my truck .
do you have a part number for the pitman arm?
love the job on it nice and cheap not scared to scratch it up
Need part number as well did you get a hold of it?
2" bora wheel spacers for the back is all you need. Matches the width of the front.
Can’t wait homie
The wheels, tires and music ruined it
A lot has changed since I made this short
@@12valve look into kibbetech 2500hds, and method wheels. I believe it will help.
@@Bmxr1991 well I have a solid front axle so a long travel ifs kit doesn’t do much for me. And I’m going to run stock 2018 GM dually wheels for awhile because I’m converting it to a dually
@@12valve oh I see, my bad. Carli suspension then
The GM rears have a little more aftermarket selection for gears lockers and shafts and stuff plus you can get a drilled unit bearing from WFO concepts to match the rear but you might have a better route
What solid axle did you use?
I used a 2006 f250 dana 60
I have been wanting to do this swap for a while and never saw this video. I’m bout convinced.
How did hooking up the brake booster work with the Cummins. I’m planning on doing a similar swap on my 01 chevy. However no one really covers how to hook up the brakes.
Well my truck had the factory hydro boost brake system too begin with. So all I had to do was hook up the power steering lines and everything functions as it should. If I were you I would look into a hydro boost conversion, I believe it’s fairly simple to do and is a great upgrade for your swap
How did you make the motor mounts
I used the factory dodge mounts on the block, and unbolted the “clam shell Chevy mounts from my frame. Then used some 1/4 steel plate and drilled holes it in to bolt to the front and back of the Chevy frame mounts/ dodge engine mounts. That is the best way I can explain it in words, I will try to post a short video of it this weekend because I’ll have the front clip off the truck and will be able to film it better
@@12valve thank you. I’m looking into trying this swap but with a NV4500 maybe.
@@slipstreamgaming1553 I have a nv4500 in it now! I keep forgetting how long it’s been since I’ve had a good update
A Cummins engine is like bacon - it makes everything better!!!
Exactly!
Absolutely.
