    The character DA in current Unity Beta it's too childish. There is no detail and no essence of the class you're playing, everything is similar to each other. Realy hope they can change it, after all, the players are all above 20+ years, we don't want play with a child with a costume, we want play with a warrior, a rogue, a time mage, etc... Interface design dont have much details too and it's kinda ugly. Except these two things, it's a good improvement in the game

    Panda player here. Eca and pandas forehead is huge and make them look retarded... and ofc, the ears are now placed on the head as if they are horns!! It makes no sense. Very disturbing

    The big feet are part of the XA art style. That art style has always been the brand for Dofus. It seems a shame to leave it behind. - I agree that the ability to tell the classes apart when they are wearing gear is important. - Lack of detail is a big one. I don't think we need to keep adding detail with each new release, but at the same time I also don't think a new release should feel like a downgrade either. Unity feels like a visual downgrade in character design. - I like the additional color area - Give me back my Panda ears!

    Yeah off, they moved away from the stylized design, which I don't like, now everyone will basically look the same, especially taking into cosmetics into consideration. Idle animations being so generic is also a bit sad.

    Switched mains from feca to foggernaut, hated that they removed the female feca belt and we got that ugly floater, but the foggernaut got quite the glow up in my opinion

    Im, 36 now, and thinking to play dofus again like in my childhood, but this characters feels uncomplete, i know its a beta, and they ll do something with this and menus... at least i hope... ^^ i can undertand that isnt that easy put details in a 3d animation, or at least take more effort than in a flash version, but this feels poor, all characters are a copy paste...classes loose his personality... like you said some foots feel weird, no details, sacro tattoo its no more a tattoo, steamer/fogger gloves are like a plastic bag, i personally dont like it...

    A lot of the Female faces look like a 1960's barbie doll with its pushed in nose bridge, deep set hooded eyes and eyebrows that are positioned in such a way they perpetually look annoyed. Its most noticeable in the Cra and Feca. The feet are disproportionally small compared to the rest of the body. The arms are twigs. Although it seem they have adjusted the size of the lower legs (calves) the thighs look too slim and weak in comparison. A *lot* of detail on the clothes has disappeared making them look basic. Why do the Sacriers suddenly have blood stained feet/lower legs? Theyve never had that and even the Goddess Sacrier and the Sacrier Fatal Blow doesnt have that.

    It's honestly despairing, your avatar look is the freaking most important thing in the game. Since the first glimpses in 2021 we clearly said this is wrong, nobody likes it, YET they almost never took players feedback and here we are 4months before launch. It is doomed man, the very first decision of having a unique skeleton for animations doomed the game. Of course all classes look alike if they have the same skeleton like wtf were they thinking ??? Instead of finally be able to create skinnier or more muscular characters it is the other way around, a Iop is as skinny as a Xelor, they are clueless. On top of that they keep this cartoony art direction, we are all over 30s now please why make the game goofier when it was the MAIN reason of player loss between dofus 1.29 and 2.0 ? Truly a mess.

      You can try solo dungeons with full achievements yes. Use sidskick.

    I’v already sent constructive feedback to ankama, many times and trough many platforms since 2021 when the original ideas were shown. I’ve wrote many posts across social media about it. I’ve asked many people to do so as well since they’ve also expressed their discontent with these designs. All in the most respectful way possible, but that didn’t matter in the end. Since nothing changed for 3 years and papinaut already wrote a post dismissing our concerns, gracefully playing the victim card like a populist politician as well. I’ve lost all hope for any significant improvement. So I’m done being nice. I’m not playing some mobile game slop, the designs are atrocious and the lack of care for the community that has been loyal for years is beyond disgusting. The people responsible for this entire situation should be ashamed and deserve to lose their most valuable asset, the community that has been bankrolling all of their failed side projects. Sometimes, the vocal minority is the voice of the opinion of the majority. I feel like this has been the case for quite a while in this community. I wish them good luck attracting some children to play this game, but if they don’t, then good riddance.

    First of all sorry for my english, it’s not my native language. I would like to clarify one point whether we like the artistic direction or not, it’s tastes and colors, but we must clearly differentiate the artistic direction and class identity. We can say whatever we want if Ankama had made childish, kawai graphics, or whatever else, if the classes had their own identity there wouldn't be that much of a problem after a month, we will get used to it and it will be the new standard, of course there will be some nostalgia but that's normal it's like the transition from 1.29 to 2.0. But please don’t come and tell me that we don’t care if it’s a standardized style!!! NO we care, just look in the video we can't tell the difference between the female elio and the female cra.... Where is the steampunk side of the steamer!!!!!! Cra?!!! Do you think it looks like an archer?! Elio completely loses his nature, we don't see the magic, the worst part comes from little things (on 2.0 the symbols on his clothes has details, for example, contribute a lot), a V-shaped boxer-style body with tight-fitting clothing ….. where are the loose clothes that make him a sort of “mage” I’m sorry, class identity plays a huge role in dofus and the entire ankama universe, we all have a class of heart that we relate to, identifies or finds super beautiful. I would like to remind you that Dofus is an MMO. Identifying yourself to a character is very important, we are talking about an adventure with a character that will last several months (I am talking about pve/quests/successes) it is important to attach to your character otherwise it just becomes copy and paste, the players will simply play the most broken class of the moment and basta!!!! I know lots of people who had a class that wasn't at all suited to the content they were doing but they challenged themselves because it's THEIR CLASS

    i dont agree, found the graphics pretty amazing, except for sacri F... But Cra for me was the biggest winner, terrible ugly class on 2.0 finaly got an visual

      It took 130 comments to read the first positive one. Keep in mind most of us arent complaining about the graphics only. Its mostly about classes losing their identity by making them all look the same.

    The new designs definitely feel like a downgrade. a huge part of the charm of Dofus for me is the distinct art style, and I feel like the updated designs completely abandon the game's iconic visual style. Like many other people already pointed out, they feel like mobile game designs now. I'm not against changing up the character models, it makes sense to revamp them a bit, but these just look flat out worse.

      In an MMORPG game your class is your class. Customization is everything. Defenitely not a minor problem if 90% of the playerbase dislikes how classes look.

    So i typed out a long text block (~5 pages) about the individual classes, but im seeing a pattern in most of the things i dislike and like about the characters. For generally stems from the face - they almost all have the same angry eyes - or sharp eyes that make everyone look the same and well.. unpleasant to be around. I would really like some face options that bring back smiles/happy eyes as the faces change while in combat. I agree with the video that the feet and body proportions feel off when compared to the 2.0 versions for most of the classes generally stemming from the arms/feet. I agree that they need to be larger or have more of a defining factor. When in 2.0 the shoes of different classes are generally different. Ougis for instance have sandles in 2.0, on beta currently they are just flat footed with no defining characteristics that are normally there. I dislike how male panda and both forms of eca are shown with the face fur, its not well defined to be face fluff and look more like they have something in their mouth that they are just holding in there like a chipmonk. When the image is large however i can see the little lines that are meant to denote fur, those need to be better shown while in game. The necks for most of the character also seem to have vanished, leading to models that have "bobble head syndrome". I dont like that the female sram has lost the tasset/cape as she looks more like a stripper now 😅. The forgelance shoulder pad needs to be dropped in size as the thing is as big as both models heads. It just looks out of place even for a defencive stance character it also will clip into the majority of end game shields from what it looks like. The things I do like however are additions that were not in 2.0. This would be things like the quiver on the cra and i really hope unique combat stances do get added to the game so everyone isnt hunched over in a boxing position, that cra get a bow as well. The hat on make xelor looks amazing and i really would like to see more head options with one and one for the women as well of the same styles. I like the new wings for eni i just wish they were more bright/shown in game since they do have some transparency that is hard to see even when colored. I feel that other characters could benifit more from this like the lance always having their lance out of combat om their back, iops having a sword, pandas maybe having a flask on their belt. This kind of stuff when added to a character adds so much more depth to them. The best example i feel like is elios and their hats. They have been a very bright spot for this beta, as their clothing pops well againced the characters body and the hats help with the off balance feelings. To cap off, I feel theres a lot of room for dofus to grow on the character designs since we cannot see items like chest plates or leg items we need those defining factors to be there for every character and that would be different hights - items and thing that better sell character fantasy. I just hope we get to see that growth between now and launch. Sorry for the ramble, I'm horrible at keeping things short.

    I can guarantee you that they wont do anything about the classes design. If you want them to listen everyone needs to boycott the game for couple days until they get the message

    I think there's a first look estrangement when seen the character creation. But after a while playing, I rarely notice anything about it. I do agree, that classes are losing a little when it comes to their identity. I can be wrong, but, I've seen some videos saying that they'll enhance the character customization in the future (adding more skins, faces, etc). I've been out of Dofus for a while, and I came to test the unity version, and I liked it. And being honest, even if it's not the Dofus that we're used to, it's a good character design (could be improved in class identity). Overall I think they did a good job. Ps: seen at 00:15 characters, they're all distinct (in heigth, and some minor details), but look legitimately "bad" (old cartoonish games from 2000's) when talking about the arms, legs and final touches, but we're used to it. Ps2: Honestly we've all seen games that have a PERFECT character creation and are just more of the same. So, if that's the final result, I'm totally fine with it if that means more time to produce more content, new features, improve Anti-Cheating methods, etc.

    There are a few character designs I personally like (e.g. the male Cra with one hairstyle and the quiver on the back), which means my vote is going for the no. There are a few things missing, like the Xelor doesn't actually look like a mummy, the Iop class has pupils, the male Sram has 5 foreheads. Like Eslix said in the video, every body has the same template, except maybe a few different millimeters in height. The game looks beautiful, I love the music (can't wait for the soundtrack on Spotify!). Besides the bugs and the character designs, I'm enjoying the game thus far.

    i've been playing the beta, plays very nice! haven't done anything yet except incarnum but everything feels very smooth. i like that some of the stuff can go into the "black bar" part of the screen where it couldn't before, like quest tips etc. excited for this for sure

    My biggest issue is the customization, the lore of each class demands different body types for each class. it's an MMO so it matters so much to me to have the ability to see a muscular Iop and a short super skinny Enu. honestly i think we should have the control over various body types for each class so that no character looks like the other.

    One thing i think they should do is like in Wakfu give each class a unique passive combat stance, they feel bland as of now.

    Characters look plain with no emotions and almost a flat looking face. However, not all characters look bad but there is something strange and missing. I like how the game feels more alive and understand how much work they put in it, but I feel like they neglected the characters a bit. I hope ankama does not see this as a attack but as a honest message from some diehard dofus fans. Lets not forget this is only a Alpha/Beta and hope they fix most of it guys!

    To be honest, to this day I still prefer the looks we had back in Dofus 1. Although I really liked the looks on Dofus 2 as well. So I disagree on the details part. More does not equal better. I think the overall problem in Dofus 3 is the bland art style. It looks too generic. Too modern, even. I used to like so much the simplicity of the character/creatures design mixed with the beautiful art in the background. It was so unique. And I think that because of the limitations they had back then, they made the silhouettes of the characters/creatures much more pronounced which gave them more "personality" and made them easily identifiable even with equips on.

    Hey! I am new to your channel and currently just found it by accident. I've been playing Dofus since 2007, and haven't stopped once since, no breaks (seriously think my max is like 6-7 days lol). I have played every assets of this game, I've played the economy side, the pvp side, the pvm side, the chit-chat side, you get my point. I am absolutely IN LOVE with the new character design and yes, you heard me right. Lots of top selling games on the market are about minimalism, flatty/simple designs now-a-days and here we see it with Dofus. Combine those small aspects change of the player model with the hud, the spells, the world and for me, the game feels more mature. I don't want to change y'all opinions, as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for me, the game being ''less'' detailed, idk, makes it in a way for my, now adult brain, to be contempted with what I see. It's simple and I like it, idk what else to say, I really do. Altough there is some classes that would need a bit of work imo, the Xelor is completely horrendous (male version) and the Osa is also sadly already in bad shape PvP/PvM wise, they couldve at least made him looking like a demigod or something. I think if you mesh all of the changes they have proposed us, it creates a perfectly well balanced ecosystem. The new classes appearances, the spells, the animations, the maps, the sound effect, alladat creates something new, it changes the whole game in itself. People tend to compare things from the past, ie comparing the porting from 1.27/.29 to 2.0. Sadly this example can't be made because the porting was exactly the polar opposite of what we are seeing right now, and also, different eras. 2.0 We had HD textures, more details, spell retextures, HUD retextures, it was great for it's time and fitted perfectly what the gamers were asking and also what the ''creating a game, what artistical avenue should we go?'' (a.k.a Meta's of Graphics) was at the time. The 2.0 to Unity porting is about minimalism, is about less details, more flatty designs, simple colors, a color palettes that is not as Vibrant and Colorful, it's more beige than pure flashy brown, if you get my point. Yeah but, it looks like Waven? Indeed it does. Yeah but why does it look like Waven? Because it's the ''meta'' of graphics, I wouldn't see why they wouldn't look-a-like. Yeah but then, why create Unity, it shortens the gap between Waven and Dofus? Because Waven and Dofus is the same universe, the same ''lore'', they HAD to make it ''look alike'' Waven (on a lore-standpoint). Keep in mind, the ''meta'' for graphics now (and has been since 2017) is simple, minimalism and not over-detailing stuff. Look at Hades, Pyre, Dredge and the list goes on! Is it shocking, yeah, does it totally changes the game? Yeah, but, do I like it, yeah, I do!

    Its an mmo having to feel the different trait of your character is a must and we dont feel it in unity, I also really hate the fact that this design look to target a 4 year old player when the average age of an mmo player is 22 it doesnt make any sens. The character look like a carricature with a swollen head. The basis of an mmo is to want your character to progress, but when your character looks like an ugly thing, it doesn't make you want to play.

    The charadesign seems to emphasize the fact that when you're born into the world of twelves, it's just a matter of choosing the gods who determine your lifestyle. Apart from the anthropomorphic ones, they all have the same head and only the clothes, make-up and hair style change.

    I think it's a lot to do with contrast in the colors they chose in 3.0. When you compare the blood tattoos of Sacrier in 2.0 or even 1.29 it is a very saturated red and quite vibrant. With the new designs all the colors got muted and everything just blends together with the skin. This might also be the reason why you prefer Eliotrope over Cra even though they have the same body/face. Now what concerns my on subjective tastes, I wish Pandawa and Ecaflip didn't look like someone threw a brick at their face and they suddenly got a brain tumor or something that made their upper head swell up.
