The Priest looked so troubled when he seen so many handsome men? He prayed sent me Wisdom to choose a good Groom for Mary! At that moment a middle aged man walked, with a Staff in his hand, but he was the most handsome man among all ! He looked at the Staff, and suddenly a Miracle took place, on the Staff Three White Lilies Bloomed..The High Priest , Thanked The Almighty ! I chose this Young Man as a Groom for Mary ! The Significance Of The Whites Lilies has so much Importances ! Always when I see them, St. Joseph's Lily! People will look at me and say , what a rare person 😅 I always tell this small inspiring message which I learnt from the Video ! The Bible tells He came from David's Family ! St. Ann Mother Mary Mother knew , that Mary had conceived through the Holy Spirit, Ann heard Her speaking to some light which came through her window! My Baptism with Water and Holy Spirit is Truth! (2) St Irenaeus of Lyons, the church's "First Systematic Theologian", wrote a lengthy treatise, *Adversus Haeresibus,* before 200AD. In reference to St Joseph, he makes important points to refute false assertions against him, in Bk V,21:9. He points out that the Genealogy in St Matthew traces St Joseph through the reigning Kings in Jerusalem, from David to the Exile. There was the good King Josiah (Mt.1:11), but after him, his [grand-]son, Jechoniah & his brothers. {Je}Coniah is cursed by Jeremiah the Prophet, in ch.22:18ff, that"none of his offspring shall succeed ..." to the Throne of David. In other words, this is now a Disinherited Branch of the Clan of David! St Joseph comes from THIS BRANCH. So, says St Irenaeus, St Joseph CANNOT BE the biological father of JESUS, the MESSIAH. On the other hand, the Genealogy given in St Luke 3;23ff, traces to David through his son, Nathan, surely named for the Prophet who rebuked David in his sin. This Branch NEVER sat on the Throne. it was a "New Shoot" from the "Root of Jesse" -- it is MARY'S Line! The reference to St Joseph in 3:23 must be taken that Heli was the Father-*IN-LAW* of St Joseph. We can catch this by seeing that among the brothers of {Je}Coniah, the Pharaoh Neco put one in as his puppet king, and changed his name from ELI-akim to JEHOI-akim. Equivalent names, but Pharaoh had "remade" him. JOACHIM is the name Tradition gives us for the Father of the Blessed Virgin Mother. If he were commonly known by a shorter nickname, it would NEVER BE "JEHOI"!! But by going to the alternate form, he *could be* called "Heli-- or ELI. (The 'H' in Greek is only a stroke like an apostrophe. One way is 'H' & the other way, 'silent'.) Lastly, In Giotto's great fresco of the 'Flight into Egypt' we see St Joseph striding beside the donkey that bears the Virgin Mother & Child. LEADING the donkey is young JAMES, the Lord's Brother, and three other brothers tag along behind! Clearly Giotto was familiar with the tradition that St Joseph was previously married, and thus father of the "brothers and sisters" of JESUS named or mentioned in St Matthew 13:55. "ALL His sisters" is likely a reference to more than a few. We know there were descendants of Joseph in the Jerusalem Church even after the 2nd Jewish Revolt; at one point two of the (great)grandsons were arrested & interrogated, but no charges could be made to 'stick' so they were set free. The Family carried on, & can well be the source of these tidbits of information, generations later. I have sensed that the Epistle of St James the LORD's Brother (or as the Church has called him, "The Brother of GOD") echoes teachings he received at St Joseph's knee. There are passages which seem especially to reflect the Book of Tobit -- a Galilean also. St James (his Hebrew name was Yakob) bears witness to the use of this body of Jewish literature in his education. A project ahead of me is to search this relation more deeply.

(1) Recent scholarly work on the history of Judea in the time of JESUS' Birth, in the writings of Josephus allow us to understand the reference to a "registration" in the days of King Herod (not consistently spelled in the captions). It was not a census, and not for taxation, & neither word is used in the NT Greek of St Luke. In fact it was a *LOYALTY OATH* to Herod! Josephus tells us 6,000 Pharisees *refused to sign it*, having sensed the nearness of Messiah! Augustus Caesar merely "backed up" Herod's desire for such an Oath. Dr Rick Larson's DVD on the Bethlehem Star shows how there were Many celestial signs prior to the Great One that triggered the travels of the Magi. St Paul even seems to refer to this, Romans 10:18, quoting Ps. 19:4 - which refers in context to "the Heavens" -- seen by Everyone! They could all get an idea, even if not exact; this is what moved the Pharisees to high hopes! The ancient Codex Alexandrinus (now in the British Museum) also has what seems to be St Luke's OWN correction, a 2nd Edition, to Luke 2:2, that "This was the enrollment *PRIOR TO* Quirinius being Gov. of Syria." -- since we know from other records that he took office in 6AD-- too late for JESUS' Birth! {Note that his name is from that of one of the 7 hills of Rome.}

Why did you jump from Joseph, the husband of Mary, who is also the mother of Jesus to the other Joseph from the Old Testament? Your title is miss leading.

Somewhere I read somewhere that Joseph and Mary played together as children. I also found that Joseph had adopted his brother's son, James. And also that in the first century most males were in their early to mid twenties before they married. But could start preparing at 13, after bar mitzvah(not sure of spelling) after a betrothal. Supposedly, Joseph was 26 when Mary was 13. If they were betrothed when the girl was about 6, then the male would be 15+ years. To marry, it was required that the groom owned land, built a home and livestock to provide. It took about 7 - 8 years accomplish. Then 1 year of engagement and the bride to be lives with and fully supported by the groom to be. While not sharing the same bed until after the wedding.

This story is not just about Joseph the earthly father of Jesus. The speaker goes in to narrate the life of Joseph, son of Jacob… But Jesus descends from the lineage of Judah, another son of Jacob… the narrator switched between these two men, both named Joseph.Even if Joseph was older when Jesus was born, for example 30 years old compared to Mary being 17-18 years old, he would’ve been around 60 when Jesus began His ministry…not too unusual in those times.

Yes st. Joseph the foster father if Jesus is different from Joseph the son of Jacob and Rachel... .

You got it all wrong. Joseph, the son of Jacob was entirely different from Joseph, the husband of Mary.

If you look at the life in the history of Elizabeth and Zacharias you'll see that according to the laws that he was direct mine of the priest that double line was pure if you look at the line from Mary and Joseph you'll see that was a double line from David and that was pure which made him a king but they call Jesus a priest high priest I haven't really done a lot of Mary's history but I do believe she was of one of the women that David married out of the priesthood
