Old Irish league footage: Distillery V Linfield 1963 - (2nd Half) Irish League Title Decider at Grosvenor Park
The whites, thought they a good outfit back then when they came to the North West 👍
Great footage. You should also update the title to include the Ads v Distillery game at the end . I am sure many more would be interested to the old Castlereagh park footage. So sad to see where Distillery are now. Imagine if they could do a Larne. There must be someone out there with money who has a connection to this great club, what a project that would be. Would not take that much to get this great club rolling again. We could start with the IFA allowing them to use Windsor Park as their home ground as a part of the deal for the perpective buyer.
Great footage, lovely memories. Pity about the commentary, shocking bad! But.....lovely to see the Blues robbed of the league👍👍 Come on ye Glens.
Great 2 c this footage of the whites at old grosvernor when they were in Irish league and had some great players in those days John Kennedy.his.name sake.jack and off course Derek and Joe meldrum playing in that team such a shame they are nothing more than a.boys intermediate team now and not in league but by name only
When life and football was better . Never like this now ....humans have changed for the worse. Lovely memories , I was there ! Memories , of better days.

I've just started a football manager save with lisburn distillery I'm trying to learn everything I can about there history
great scenes, the glory days of Irish football, north and south, in terms of crowds.
brilliant
God Linfield even then where trouble
The supporters changing ends at half time? Only in Belfast!
OMG This is brilliant. I love the fans switching ends at half time. I've told people about that and nobody belives me. I remember them doing it at the cup final at windsor against Ards in 69
I grew up 4 doors from Billy Cambell on the Shankill and I gave him a hard time for beating the Blues that day.
As a life long Distillery fan I was astonished to find this game on TH-cam.I attended this match as a 15 year old and sat in the 'stand' by virtue of the complementary season ticket I had been presented by a friend of my fathers a few years before. Distillery had lost to Linfield in the Irish Cup Final a few weeks before despite outplaying the 'Blues' but for this game the Whites star manager George Eastham no less dropped my childhood hero Kenny Hamilton and stiffened up the front line with Roy Welsh playing on the left wing with Billy Campbell raiding on the right wing. The tackling was ferocious and the goalkeeping so brave.Despite the animosity between both sets of fans the players generally behaved and it was noticeable there was no protest when local cop Joe Meldrum was poleaxed and a penalty awarded which Campbell dispatched in the last minute to make the score 4-2 Whites. A few months later, in September, Distillery lined up against Benfica at Windsor Park and drew 3-3 with my hero Hamilton scoring the second after Tom Finney headed against the bar...do you have film of that match? Thank you for giving me and my family and friends such a thrill by finding, producing and uploading this precious film. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this footage... great to see what it was like back in the day!
Come on The Whites.
Good days when the Irish league was a league hope the whites get back someday
Two great old cine films of two lost grounds. Castlereagh Park and Grosvenor Park. Love the changing ends at half time lark.
