I love all forms of martial arts and culture related where I live in Florida there's not even a whole lot of martial arts schools let alone learning more varied martial arts that aren't super widely spread. I feel these types of videos are very important post that people can learn about different cultures and also for those who have a lover of martial arts add warrior cultures etc it isn't just the most mainstream things that we see in Media.

Mahalo for this important presentation ❤❤❤
I don't know if you know it but the Maori developed from Hawaiian canoe that landed in NZ, I got to disagree with somewhat about the Hawaiians being the greatest and smartest Polynesian people I think you're being a bit biased , or you haven't looked much into other Polynesian peoples . But your channel came up well I'm trying to look up making traditional bone and shell fish lures. I'm a amateur bone carver and I wanted to give making a few different types of hooks and lures a go and I'm looking for a very in-depth explanation of the construction of them......there a couple good videos on the subject but nothing showing the actual making of them and the binding together of the like wood and bone , guess I'll keep looking but it's an idea for another video if you ever get the chance
Go babe❤❤❤❤
Masha Allaha very nice bro

Having grown up in the area, much of what Ah Lan shares in the video is long forgotten. The times that we(self/friends) did venture to Waimea, we used to climb down to the river, from where the parking lot is & hike up the river to the falls. Along the way, we used to snack on fruits along the river banks...guava, star fruit(five finger), strawberry guava & lilikoi(passion fruit), among others. River was teeming w/o'opu(freshwater gobi), crayfish & freshwater crabs, which doubled as bait for bigger fish residing further downriver....
This is incredibly priceless, educational and all kinds of Ohana! ❤
I meant uncle Joe Sullivan.
I have a pair of kauila wood, Philipino escrima sticks, from Uncle John. They are super heavy. I could not understand why my sticks were honey brown colored, and the Bishop Museum kauila weapons were black. Your ponderosa kauila, explained it. Mahalo.
Wow, just wow. This man is a gem. What a wealth of knowledge. Thank you very much for putting this together.
What is the name of the instrument that they used at the beginning of the video? It was at 13 seconds.
That is a "bamboo horn" :)
