@@smjblessing95 Did it show up on Davy's solo album on Bell ? Is it credited just to Davy or the Monkees ? I wonder if it's from those dark and dire 'Changes' sessions Davy wouldn't even talk about. One story I heard is he got a whopping $500 for those. I've got that Monkees Day By Day book/discography by Andrew Sandoval. Yes indeed, I am that obsessive about them which is why an unfamiliar song made my eyes bug out. BTW I really liked this upload. It sounded as clear as any other mix I've heard. Many thanks ! Keep em coming ! 👍

There's nothing wrong with the production of this song. It's 1983, fer chrissakes! It sounds like plenty of other songs on the radio at that time. Reminds me a lot of Valerie by Steve Winwood. I prefer the original, but this one isn't bad.

You're A Lady/Who Was It? may be among the best singles Jones ever released solo, or with the Monkees. A Monkees fan going back to the 70's, I only really got into Jones' solo stuff in the last eight years or so. I eventually found this single, and I absolutely love it, both sides!

I was at this concert and was blown away by the LA Express. They made the headline act - CSNY - look and sound amateurish. Which they were on the night in question as to a man they were totally stoned! Sad but not as sad as the appalling sound quality of this recording but at least it is a record of how damn good the LA Express were.
