Funny thing about the snake scene. When they shot the scene, the temperature was cold. But snakes, being cold blooded needed heat. Fire was heat, therefore snakes moved towards the torch rather than away from it. This made Spielberg mad.

When I was a kid our dad showed us how you really could use a whip to swing, just like Indy. The trick was to get it to wrap around itself a specific way on the branch so tension holds it together and keeps it from unraveling. I did it aaaalllll the time lol. But as I got older I got bigger and heavier and it got a lot harder lol

Oh man i remember growing up i wanted indys hat and whip so badly but all i had was a oversized gray fedora that i tried to 'color' brown by pouring dirt on it over and over (i was 7) and i had no whip so i scotched tape a bunch of ropes together and it would be my whip. I looked goofy as anything but i didnt care i was indy dammit! Lol! But a year later, i have no idea how my step-dad did it but he got me a true blue indiana jones official hat with a outline drawing of harrison ford and logo on the tag. And same day he braided some rope together into a whip. Best dad ever. Now i realized after all these years i wanted the bullwhip heck its just a amazon button click away lol.
