      My best advice is to go on google maps/earth. Find a body of water you like, and follow it til you find a public access point. Not much public access around this area of SC. Most boat launches don't allow fishing and everything else is private. There are a few spots though (and probably some more I haven't found). Just gotta put in the work. Good luck!

      Red Drum and different sharks are very common. At night time you can get some Weakfish from the shore as well. Lots of mullet in the waves so you can cast net mullet and collect sand fleas in the surf. Sometimes a nice flounder will bite mullet in the surf too.

    Hey awesome video! I live in ghe north Myrtle area, but been having a hard time night fishing, the surfs always been so rough and so many waves. Do i need to go at low tide? Or are there certain beaches that are better?

    • @grandstrandangler8129
      @grandstrandangler8129 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the new weather coming in and the el nino this year is making it wonky. In 2 weeks or so the fishing should get more consistent and easier. I see no correlation between the tide and catching fish. I dont fish in north myrtle but all beaches are a little different. I would say just keep sticking with it and wait out this transitional period. The fish should be moving in any time now. What are you using for bait/rigs?

    • @grandstrandangler8129
      @grandstrandangler8129 ปีที่แล้ว

      The most difficult pond to catch bass in Market Commons is the main very large pond. That pond probably has the biggest bass but good luck catching them. Remember there's lots of ponds that stretch that whole road. There's about 7 of them and you can catch fish in all of them. I'd suggest a rooster tail in the spring during the day and a small spinnerbait when the water cools off. Right now is a good time to fish anything topwater in the early morning and at night.

    • @grandstrandangler8129
      @grandstrandangler8129 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly, the closest lake to Myrtle Beach is in North Carolina. Also, It'll be difficult to catch carp in general here. Your best bet is the location in this video or a private pond that you have permission to fish (good luck finding that). We're not an area known for our carp fishing.

      @grandstrandangler8129 ปีที่แล้ว

      I gotchu. Currently making some more videos now. I'll do some informative stuff about how to target different fish from the surf. You must have been fishing during the big Spot run. They only come through thick about 2 times a year but there's thousands of them so it's hard to catch any other fish using shrimp, squid, or worms. Best thing to do would probably be to catch one of them and use it as cutbait for the bigger Reds and Flounder feeding on them.

      No, I haven't. I do it at night time though. you'd only have a problem if you're careless about it (shark fishing in the middle of the day around swimmers). But if someone stops you, just say you're targetting Red Drum but going for whatever bites.
