    Did a sumpless/HOB 50 breeder for 9 1/2 yrs and finally upgraded to a sumped larger reef 2 1/2 yrs ago when I just got tired of spills from the HOB skimmer and overgrown corals. Rescaped /fragged/transferred everything over to new tank over a month and haven’t had any regrets since. So much easier with sump to hold all the gear that we need for stability in one glass box. Tank looks great!

    I believe in free will… But others have free will too including doctors. In this broken world that means suffering. But we can choose to live through the suffering and forgive and inspire others as they see that. Jesus WAs perfect and He suffered and offered it up for us. We can join our suffering to His as Paul says in his letters. This inspires our children to be brave and courageous and loving when they struggle. I’m soo sorry this happened to you. Great video. Thank you again. I have osteopenia and a fx sesamoid for 9 months. I’m being pressured to surgery I don’t want. I’m just going to get a better Dr. God bless. Sending up a prayer for you! If you’re ever near St Joan of Arc in Powell… stop in. It’s a good place to pray. 🤍

    The hobby needs reefs like your self , to show that tech is not always required , I have been in the hobby for many years and yes this side as seen big advances across the board some good and some not so good , yes this way requires a bit more effort , but the stock should more hardy, I run a no sump system with softy only , and have lost very few , I get fed up with been told you must have this and that to run a sustainable tank , so thankyou for up-date a , UK viewer

I even got some blennies but they dosnt seem interested! THis sucks so bad because I jumped the gun and spent over 3k on high end zoas and now most are dead!! It took a while to figure this out but the ones I put on this and another acrylic ones mostly died and ones on rocks are just fine! Some appear to have melted though so not sure if the racks are responsible for all the deaths! This rack in particular hangs off back glass and flow could have been an issue early on. As soon as my leds are up and running over frag tank I am tranfering them but I am scared I am going to transfer what ever it is with them! peroxide helps for a while but comes back and was scared to dip my super highend ones like my Godbeasts and my big Birds, Gmks, and northern light ext.. all dead!! I have tried chemiclean and it just laughs at it! Most my highend mushrooms either disappeared or got stung out. Cany win! Took 2 months 2 cycle my frag tank too even using products and now my lights are giving me problems! frag tank and 36 gallon! UGGHHH Troubles wont end! lol Your tank is gorgeous! I am envious!

    Just a little heads up. Don't let the name of the product fool you. AFR will be fine for a while until your corals start consuming more of the alk, cal & mag than what is being dosed with the AFR. When this happens, you simply can't add more AFR to compensate because the rest of the elements will be unbalanced. You will need to supplement Balling components A,B, or C as needed to maintain stability. I learned this lesson the hard way when my alkalinity bottomed out and I didn't have any alkalinity on hand to supplement the imbalance. I lost some expensive corals when that happened. I continued to use the product but with a much better understanding of how to use it. I test all parameters once a week, but I check Temp, Salinity, pH, Alkalinity daily. Last week I saw my alkalinity start to drop by a half point. I simply added a couple milliliters to my daily dose on my bubble magus auto doser and kept a close eye on my alkalinity. I am just about through this alkalinity swing and everything is going well. Like it never happened.

    • @CoralReefkid

      Yeah in other words, test your damn tank while dosing it

    • @tomg5405
      @tomg5405 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is wrong the product works well even when you have big colonnies I had a 1400l Tank with big colonnies. Just test your alk regularly and not disbalance will happens as everything is balanced in the product. And a 0,5kh swing will harm not coral. Your problem was elsewhere or you not test enough regularly. Kh should be tested daily or every two days

    • @zachary_smith1
      @zachary_smith1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It says on their website directions that it’s formulated in the correct dosages needed but not all corals consume at the same levels and you will occasionally need to dose whatever your corals are consuming. I mean it’s kinda common sense that you still have to test and dose accordingly. All for reef just handles the bulk. And the trace minerals. There are dozens of trace minerals you would have to dose otherwise.

    Looks great! You are going to love AFR. I've been dosing it for well over a year now in my mix reef tank. It was probably the best thing I started dosing (besides Kalk at night). Enjoy, and Reef on! The corals will grow like gangbusters on the stuff! Watch the fireworks cloves. They love the stuff!

    • @user-tx7iz1bd1n
      @user-tx7iz1bd1n หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nosumpreefing8287sometimes with AFR one of the levels might drop or raise visa versa, for instance On a night with lights off you may notice a drop in alk, which will cause a spike in calcium, the AFR isn’t going to bring the numbers back to the right levels it’s used to keep them stable at what they are, by this I mean you should really make sure all your parameters are acceptable and the level your happy with before you start dosing AFR which should in theory then keep the levels stable. However if alk drops on a night and then you carry on dosing AFR all your doing is keeping them stable at that mark there now at does that make sense? The Kalkwasser is basically only going to effect alk and calcium so if he dosses kalk on a night my guess is that his alk is dropping a bit so he’s using the kalk to bring that level back up before resuming his AFR to keep his levels steady

    Good deal and a TH-cam fix that actually works. I had 5 (on a 200g) that all died pretty close together just past the two-year point and I tossed them in a box and replaced them with Radion G5's several years ago. Just putting together, a small 32g second tank and really did not want to spend the money for a light. Thing about mine is they were just dead and no flash or anything. Hotwired an old computer power supply and bang worked the first time.
