With regard to your parents as Ex Pats, did they find it difficult to get Italian Driving licenses? Also, did they go through the arduous process of learning Italian in the States or while they were in Lecce? You are correct when you say those items cost 300% to 400% more in the U.S. than in Italy. That's actually accurate. It's not what some analysts etc. say, 20% or so. Nonsense. On some things that may be, but for normal daily living items, it's what you see. You are in Lecce, so it's slightly more expensive generally in the north, but still not compared to the U.S. Alot of countries have lesser costs than in the U.S., but how is the quality and abundance? In Italy the quality is the highest of anyplace. It's the food haven of the world.

I love all of our products here in Italy. Been here 23 years. Never going back to USA.

Evacuating is always the right decision.. it's never good to second-guess Mother Nature because she can be fickle at best. So glad you and your family are safe, and sounds like a good idea to keep a 10 gallon gas can so you can fill up even as you evacuavte to make sure you don't run out of gas as your evacuating.
