A tribute act will replicate an exact copy of an original song, a cover is not intended to replicate the original exactly. Have a listen if you have time to the dance version of fast car by Dakota and Jonas Blue that is released, that is a cover of the song.

You're a little off pitch at times. Play the melody on your guitar a phrase at a time and sing along to match the pitch. Also (this'll sound weird but trust me) if you're familiar with Ann from Little Britains "eh eh eeeeeh" nasal sound, sing the song without words, just using that sound. It'll train your voice to open up more and give you a more strong tone when it comes to singing the words again. And finally try to focus on more breath support, It'll help strengthen your voice, pull your pitch into place and give you power.
