Fixing My Yaris' Suspension! Did This Actually Work?
Today, we’re tackling a much-needed repair on my 2007 Toyota Yaris-installing new control arms! The old ones were completely shot, and after replacing them, the handling definitely changed… but not exactly as expected. After the install, the car started pulling hard to the right, and now we need to figure out why. Is it the alignment? The cam adjuster? The axle? Watch as we diagnose the issue and test-drive the car to see if we can get it dialed in!
Have you ever done a suspension repair that made a huge difference in how your car drives? Let me know in the comments!

    Man, anytime I get stuck on something that should be simple, it seriously messes with my head. This pulley was not having it today, but hey, we’re making progress on the AW11. Ended up ordering some suspension parts for the Yaris too-still debating on lowering it. Do you ever get triggered by stuff like this? How do you get yourself out of that frustration spiral? Drop a comment, I’d love to hear it. Appreciate y’all, see you tomorrow!

    what happens if you left the valve cover alone alone? was it causing problems? Its not like the outer structure was bent, only on that inner plate. i remember a problem with the early s2000 valve covers the design caused the oil to slosh around and get into the pcv valve, and it would burn on hard right turns.

    • @aftereartharcade
      @aftereartharcade 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think it is what is causing the lean engine code, but not being clean cut metal i could see and feel shavings so i just imagine that very small metal has been sloshing around the head, sure i bet it eventually ends up in the pan or oil filter but, i could also see it has shavings in the strange cut. The middle as that bend does 2 things it keeps the oil from coming up the hole and allows it to pour into the head, so even if its just a small thing IMO its something we want to replace. I don't think the oil comes up enough on the 1zz head but i could see that like a banked left turn could have oil hit the pvc. That is wild with the s2000 what was the fix? I know baffles in the oil pain are common for the pic up tube to not get air i guess you could bloc off the pcv in a similar way?

It was one of those projects you cut your teeth on. I didn't get to bed until 3am. They didn't tell me at the time but was dealing with a lot of anxiety and was having a panic attack... Hello sir.. my family loves mr2 my dad totalled his sw20, i moved out more than a decade ago and i want to resurect our aw11. Im trying to learn the cheapest way to k24 swap the aw11 and plan to turbo it later using speedruino.. is it possible to run 4age and k24 with seepdruino?? How hard tune it diy style? Thank you so much. Yeah may parents moved to texas from california

      Hey! Hope your dad was ok from the wreck! Maybe they had a bit to much fun with it ;p From my understanding the 4age is fairly straight forward to run on the speeduino. As for k swapping it, that could be a huge challenge or it could be super easy... here is why. The k24 already comes in a trans axle package so you need to figure out how to fit it int the bay and mount it. Other than that its just wiring. The big issue if you solve mounting is fab the exhaust. Ide image a lot of cutting is involved in this swap. Alternately you can gr or ar swap it very easy as it works with the c52 transmission and most the mounts line up.

      The speeduino depending on the rout you go could cost under $100, the k swap i personally would budget 8k+ before starting that. Check out the forums. They are working on some new products. speeduino.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13

      @ i used to run boosted d16y8 vitara build and its crazy that ecu and tuning cost alot more than the whole build and i dont want to go through all that tuning if i do need to go through that route again i want it to be cheap as possible but reliable. my goal is to direct swap k24 motor, 5 speed transmissinon, stock ecu out of accord, tsx. integra axle. then later if i get extra time and $$ i'll go for k20 head or boost it so means i need an ecu that can be tune again but i want it cheap. thank you for replying yeahh i dont want to kill another mr2. thanks bro

      @aftereartharcade 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ damn! having gone through that i think it totally makes sense to run a speeduino. Check out the forums they are working on a newer "drop bear" its more of a plug and play option. and WTMTronics is creating a small unit for 2-4 for easy boosted applications! You got this! When you get started post some videos :D

      @@aftereartharcade so basically my plan is to go as cheap as possible to keep the aw11 running. i even okay with the i-vtec k20 the econmy k20 to drop in the mr2.. and get extra k20 or k24 motor to build so i can take my time building the motor correctly thank you so much for replying

    Sometimes when you're pushing, the off days when you feel you got nothing done... It was a required day for a break. Even God rested on the 7th day. Sometimes the universe needs you to have some time off just to reflect, regroup, take a breath, so you're ready for what is next. NEVER feel bad when a day doesn't go like we think it should. Sometimes you need to stop and smell the roses. Spend time with friends, etc.

      <3 I needed to hear that. I'm gonna probably start building that into my vlog. Its hard to remember im doing this for me, As i still would like to grow as a TH-camr and try to make a better video each time. Im finally doing what ive wanted to do, committing to making videos and being a TH-camr but if i don't improve then i wont get to where im trying to go :< As its extremely competitive and i have a lot of skills to still gain. Over the last 2 weeks ive noticed an increase in the watch time of the videos they went from 10% to 60% on average that makes me feel like the videos are getting better but...

    Guess whos back on the road again! Got some m6 double end studs on amazon for $7 (pack of 10 lol) and was able to short-term repair my mishap when i overtorque and broke the intake manifold studs. So i assembled my monkey patch last night and the car runs. I dont fully trust my patch for 100m/day ubereats, so im waiting on the oem studs to come in next week. but street parking ticket ninjas cant get me now buahaha I have a question - when i took out the broken oem studs, they were very tough to get out and had to use a stud extractor. However when i put in my monkeypatch studs, they just screwed into the brass cavity hole. my question: when i get the oem, what kind of product/grease/liquid do i put on to make it gel like before? ive got threadlocker purple...but also chat gpt is saying i need to be concerned about the mix of metals of brass and stainless steel for something called gailing ...is saying use an antiseize. so do i apply both? ??? here is my conversation with it if it helps (has some other random questions about my 304 stainless steel monkey patch rod vs the yaris spec of T4 of the stud im getting . chatgpt.com/share/677968aa-8d14-8009-bec6-2d15c9698107

      Hell ya! Good work doooood! OK so i think it has to do with how galvanized metals react to zinc. From my understanding the loctite purple 222 is designed to handle your situation. Maybe others can chime in too but i don't think you need anything else.

      @@aftereartharcade okay thanks. i think ill wait on applying anything to the monkey patch as i dont want any difficulty taking it out again when oem studs come in. btw did you have to move out of there end of year? i hope it gets extend to you so its less for you to deal with.

    bro the end of your videos are always up beat and motivational to me for some reason. while im struggling with my yaris with zero way to make income, i have to also remind myself ive had a few victories yesterday removing the nut with the magnet and getting the stud rod out without breaking anything. now im just waiting on that rod from toyota which they say will take a week. a whole week or two without income is a death blow to me esp with need to pay rent etc etc blah blah. BUT i have to remind myself as you said 'yeah there will be more problems ahead but ive made it pretty far'... so i just have to keep on pushing like you. thats why i tune in every morning for the daily car talk lol

      Hell yah! bro i feel the energy. I know you can get through this. Keep pushing every day! When your back is against the wall look for creative solutions to your problem. Could you do like bicycle door dash for instance or even give blood to get you by for a little... I know you are facing something hard, but you have come so far, more issues will come up and you will overcome those too. If you keep at it :D Ima keep trying too. Your feedback keeps me going too so <3
